  1. Good to see 8 rounds over 4 tracks which makes it more realistic as a Championship. They have made the best of a a difficult situation. Son final with no qualifier makes sense under the circumstances. Hope everything works out for the NSS In October
  2. Alan was a great servant to Belle Vue and a brilliant team man. Every successful side needs a Wilky my thoughts are with his family
  3. Super performance from Robert. he now needs tunnelled vision on winning the title.... he is definitely capable of it and tonight’s result should Give him the confidence and vision of achieving first place
  4. Good news. there has been a long battle which looks more positive now. pleased for Oxford and plaudits to the Council who are backing a Speedway return.... many councils are now quite anti Speedway
  5. Do Do you mean trial adjourned or trial date has been moved?
  6. Nice to see Buxton is still being used. aiden and les Collins held a Speedway day recently.... they may be doing them regularly... I only know about the recent one. hope Buxton can eventually come back to league racing
  7. Stock cars at kirky lane put money in Perrins pocket but it was the start of the decline of the Speedway track and the stadium as a good venue. Stock cars were supposed to put the track back to normal... but that never happened so the track went through slow deterioration.
  8. Belle Vue have the Colts side which is great. Once COVID is sorted , I would love to see the NSS start to have weekly Training schools under the competent hands of Mark Lemon and also have amateur meetings. Scunthorpe run them and although they only make a smallish profit they are invaluable tools for the progress of British Speedway. As a youngster I used to go to Hyde road where there were Monday training schools in the season and Saturday training schools on Saturdays in the winter.
  9. Pleased to see further developments of the Plymouth site which augurs well for the future. good luck in the future
  10. With a large percentage of supporters at the vulnerable age re COVID, how many will be willing to risk it.... it is a risk
  11. At last a real Speedway meeting. excellent racing from the word go... interesting to see they have built a new stand on the back straight... augurs well for the future Bydgoscz worked out as my first league match many years ago and always have fond memories of my visits there
  12. Well done Robert. some better racing once the sufficiently watered the track to give more grip. definitely track was nowhere near as good as normal
  13. Missing my speedway however I have severe doubts that there will be British Speedway in 2020. i have watched three polish league matches..... very disappointed in the quality of the racing Some good races but nothing to write home about
  14. The BSPA said the vast majority of promoters want to run meetings.. therefore there must be others with the same concerns as Glasgow. as much as I would like to see Speedway in2020, I do not think it will happen...unless it is behind closed doors with pay per view live streaming... keep it safe
  15. Absolutely agree. we have a good management that are striving to move Belle Vue Speedway forward. long may it continue
  16. Rob Godfrey has already said that Speedway can not afford to run behind closed doors. Even if they allow Speedway to run with it’s comparative low crowds compared to bigger sports there are impossible hurdles.. social distancing... getting in to stadium... what time would you need to open to get everyone in safely social distancing.. using toilets social distancing .. food and drink ...I would imagine not allowed apart from being impractical the sooner we announce that Speedway will hopefully start back in 2021 the better
  17. The aces last match in 1987 at Hyde road was in fact their last ever match thee
  18. Just shows how long before we get back to some kind of normality !!
  19. Wimbledon tennis cancelled July edinburgh festival normally held for the whole of August.. cancelled schools might reopen in september odds are more likely that no Speedway league in 2020
  20. With the latest announcement, then 1 home and one away looks likely if indeed we get back this year
  21. Ainsdale sands had a long period of Speedway activity... training up a lot of riders
  22. I do not understand why schools are not being closed. many school are around 1000 and once someone gets the virus plenty of scope for a massive increase in positive cases apparently some schools have been told to arrange for one month of work for their pupils to complete via the internet....so perhaps closures are not too far off
  23. BSPA meeting tomorrow to discuss statement probably due ... how long we wait is another matter
  24. Scotland have started the ball rolling.... no crowds over 500 so that is Edinburgh and Glasgow with no home meetings.... decisions should be across the Uk not unilaterally made. however there will be no surprise if we catch up shortly
  25. Darren Hartley will make a good team manager.... vast experience in the sport... and definitely infinitely better than Jason Pipe.
