What a start to have Pedersen and Crump. well done Plymouth. What are there combined averages

It is important we sign the best available rider within the 4* list. Sadly Kyle has plateaued somewhat in his last year of racing. He now needs to step up to the plate and elevate his performances He is talented and can become a good rider at the top level. Here’s hoping that Kyle boosts himself up the ladder in 2021

Josh Bates as a 4* rising star is an absolute steel for Sheffield. I would have thought it would have been restricted to riders with limited experience.... seems promoters are still looking after themselves once more instead of looking after the Sport as a whole.

Great to see that Plymouth have signed Bjarne . wonderful start... good luck in 2021.

Was it the dreaded new Polish rule ?

Delighted to see Plymouth in the championship. good luck for 2021

Marl lemon for Belle Vue ??

Premiership fixtures now BSPL site

I would like them to join the league provided they can sign a competitive team..... a below par team would be a big mistake good luck in getting a suitable team

In my first full season in 1964, the teams were Belle Vue Wimbledon Oxford Swindon Coventry West Ham and Norwich This was called the National league with a larger Provincial league which was a black league. If the teams are roughly equal then a small league can work fine This is just as true now. I cannot remember exactly at what point in 1964.. But the BSPA declared that any National league club that allowed Provincial league riders to ride on their track would be blacked by the BSPA. Belle Vue were due to hold the Provincial League riders championship in September... they stuck to their guns and were blacked for 1965. Over the winter the leagues actually combined to form the British league and British Speedway started to raise its profile which eventually had over 30 teams in British Speedway

National League AGM (or whatever they have)

There may be a different kind of NDL in 2021. The most important thing is to continue to give plenty of riding experience for our developing youth It would be good to give THE BYC riders more rides.... possibly second half rides or even places in teams if there is a rider shortage. -
No Richie Worrall please....

The loss of Adam Ellis basically due to the Polish new regulation hammers home the damage done to British Speedway.

By the nature of the Sport , guests are a necessary evil. Losing your no 1 with no facility is unthinkable.. a recipe for disaster. R/R for one missing rider is acceptable for the top 3 A guest when 2 out of the top 5 missing is necessary

Promoting the young Brits in both leagues is a great move forward. 2021 is the first step forward after the grim reeper saw off 2020. Hopefully ,this is a new start where British Speedway is run for the benefit of the Sport as opposed to promoters looking after their own individual needs. Having Eurosport on board is another boost for Speedway... in particular Speedway on Quest for a broader section of the public to watch Speedway on the TV. Cautious optimism as far as I am concerned
-
If that was true then a lot of happy supporters will be grateful.
-
No surprise there... both riding in Poland and Sweden....I am sure the promoters will have riders in their sites for 2021. just glad that Dan has obviously chosen the Aces and Wroclaw
-
I can understand their reluctance to run in 2021. Swindon fans now have A long wait for 2022. Hopefully most clubs will have a shortened season in 2021

If we have lost quite a lot of riders as well as issues with visas, then the BSP should use this as a new start. Similar to the 1965 British league after The NL and PL came together.
-
Having signed for aPolish and Swedish side, then he would be breaking his contract with Poles if he tried to ride in GB. so inevitable... The question is would he have ridden if there was not a barrier..... He still may have elected to reduce his commitments
-
Good to see the signing of Danny Smith for the NL team. A good step forward for the new promoters when Dent Oliver started the Colts off in 1968 , it was the start of finding and providing lots of British talent for , eventually, the Aces and the beginning of a very successful time for Belle Vue We had 7 Aces, 7 Colts and other second halfers as well Keep up the good work

MORE POLISH LEAGUE INTERFERENCE
Gunner85 replied to Gunner85's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Speedway has ebbed and flowed throughout its 9 decades. Speedway has a chance to build a better future if the Promoters can actually promote and create rules that benefit the Sport as opposed to promoters looking after their own individual needs. Having a neutral person as Chairman who can look after the needs of the Sport is priority number one -
The Stoke track came under regular criticism when Tatum was doing the job. it was the reason I stopped going to stoke
