That Oxford team is looking lethal! On paper I don’t think many can touch them. Just hope the big number support them, was class watching the Cheetahs Vs Pirates last year with big numbers in attendance
-
That’s the team I’d like to see.
-
Absolutely shocking! Bad track, long delays. Let’s get new fans… shambles!!!
-
Alfie Bowtell signed up. Good to have him on board

Kent v Berwick 17/08/21
StrangerKings replied to Old Crusader's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I haven’t been to watch Kent ride since pre-covid and what a cracker of a meeting it was with some great overtaking and close racing. Was not expecting that result and hopefully this Kent side can now kick on. -
Really liking those new kevlars Sheffield will be repping this season! Best I have seen in a long time.
-
Doesn’t look like Danno Verge will be back on the Island unless they are happy to leave well over a point on their team average to play with. Could well be on his way back to Kent...
-
Sorry to put this question in this thread, but does anyone know when the fixtures tend to get released? Just excited for the season already!!!
-
Who knows, maybe attempts were made to get a contract done but an agreement couldn’t be made. Maybe he’s our insurance policy if Ledwith does struggle to adapt to Championship level.
-
Ben Morley is a warrior for next season. Was hoping he would have been in at least one of our teams for this year!
-
i don't know what James Wright's last average was, but surely he won't be on an assessed 2.00 when Rob Ledwith has been given a 4.00.
-
Top 4 team with that signing in my opinion, I am liking the balance of that team. It will be hard to beat them at home.
-
I really enjoyed watching Stoneman at Kent a few seasons back, really hope he has an injury free (as with all riders!) season, as on his day he can be very quick. Good luck to him!
-
Stoneman confirmed
-
I'd very much like that team. Fingers crossed!
-
I can’t see Vissing improving on his average, wouldn’t be a good signing for you guys.
-
I’d be pretty happy with those guesses especially Gilkes over Jenkins
-
I certainly hope we get Ben, big fan favourite for Kent, and will chip in with valuable points at home. I think it’s an ok move bringing Rob in at reserve, it shows that the hunger at his ripe age is there and it is one of those “prove us wrong” type of signings, as the majority of people will expect him to fail, but hopefully with the right set up and fitness he can prove them wrong, and in particular the age haters haha. Good luck to the old boy!
-
Now what a cracking view point that place was! Not the best track (although caught some great races in my time there) but viewing points were spot on.
-
Seriously wasn't expecting that!
-
Nice start to team building. Looking forward to seeing Doyley vs Nicki!
-
I believe he averages around 2.23 points per meeting according to the last set of averages on the SGB website, but anyway, if you are looking to win the league neither Phillips or Woolley should be at reserve, surely there are better options out there...
-
Wasn't expecting the Thompson twins to be lining up at reserves as early as this season, but good luck to them. I believe that leaves room to fit in Nick Morris and Kyle Howarth.
-
So who is next? I think Morley is nailed on, he could bag us some vital points at home. Would like Gilkes to fill a reserve spot as well, he’s been great to watch and would get some great advice from Captain marvellous. Adam Ellis and Tom Bacon have been mentioned a few times of which I’d be happy with them signing, both ride Central Park well. Not sure how much we’d have left for the other two spots, but potential for another big hitter like Danny King. Exciting times ahead!

Nathan Ablitt has signed for Kent
