  1. Huckenbeck could be handy on that average but would be going to a lot of tracks for the first time... would someone like Wilson dean 5.02, heeps both of whom know the tracks 5.07 fair better...? I'd take porsing on either average, from what I've seen of him he has good equipment and he's a typical Dane not afraid to get stuck in on the first bend which is a trait we've been lacking in recent teams
  2. at the risk of starting a new debate on newcomers averages... does anyone know what new american/aussie riders would come in on? sgb tweeted all foreign riders now have a minimum 4 point average, would the likes of broc nicol, max ruml etc. now come in on a 4??
  3. nice looking team that, was impressed with porsing when he visited last year and after a few meetings think he could be very good around foxhall. with the seemingly tight points limit this year can't see you getting a better heat leader trio than that. theres only going to be so many riders available on a 2 point average which are going to be ready to have a punt on at this level this at this point in time, so getting two of the better options could also thwart other teams building too, don't think too many will beat hume in ht 2 at foxhall after a few meetings to settle, as we saw last year, he's raw but a real talent, with good equipment and a fast learner
  4. Jack holder a great prospect and would certainly be exciting signing, somebody going places in the sport with big potential to increase his average. Track would need to be a lot smoother and more consistent though as I seem to remember in his last he spent most of his time rolling round at the back shaking his head
  5. A decent team that, considering the two reserves are on 2 point averages it shows just how tight the points limit is this year when you consider last years teams like Glasgow were able to fit worrall barker summers and Lawson in at the start!! If you were to substitute barker for schlein that would give you just about a point extra to play with what's left and the average difference.... would barker score much different to schlein???
  6. Needs clarifying, my interpretation is that they're trying to get more young brits from the NL the opportunity of a team place in PL by lowering the average they'd come in on thus being more appealing to promotions, makes no sense whatsoever that the likes of Hume, mountain etc. Would have to come in on a 3 when some riders who maintained higher averages in NL last year can drop down as low as 2 having ridden in the PL
  7. lets get the team building guessing going then!! Agree king and hume need to be signed as soon as possible, would definitely consider mountain as well if both are on 2 starting average? I'm unsure who is and isn't eligible! leaves more to play with for main team. king 9.57 sarjeant 5.80 covatti 7.49 Schlein 7.17 hume 2.00 mountain 2.00 t. kurtz 5.76 palovaara 5.80 rose 5.86 jake allen 5.96 manzares 5.43 a few potential options for last rider with 5.97 left, jake allen perhaps the stand out will somerset take him into top league on that average? alternatively king 9.57 porsing 6.58 busk jacobsen 6.98 covatti 7.49 hume 2.00 mountain 2.00 leaves 5.38 potentials keeps 5.07 wilson dean 5.02 mellgren 5.33 jacobs 5.36
  8. Any two of those would do for me baldy, barring doolan, he been on the decline for some time now whereas all of the others could improve on starting averages! Porsing and busk Jacobsen Or Schlein and Douglas an Aussie pair or a danish pair to ride together
  9. It would make sense to give both mountain and Hume a go at reserve and leave more points for main body of the team, both of them showed promise this season warranting another another go.
  10. Gino has the potential to be a much better rider than 5.43 especially without the visa pressure hanging over him, an injury free season could see him put 2 points on that imo, and looking up and down the final averages from this don't see many better alternatives at that average. would also like to see some more of the american youngsters come over next year, max ruml, bro nicol etc. does anyone know if they would start on a 5 or a 7? as that could damage their chances significantly
  11. Anyone fancy a return for lasse bjerre on 6.65 ? An indifferent season for him but on that average surely worth a go, in every other season he's returned as an away rider he's scored well and surely a good option for 3 or 4 in the team, especially if he were to be paired with one of the other two Danes I'd like to see in the team porsing (6.58) or busk jakobsen (6.98) all three of whom on lower averages than morten!!
  12. You're right baldy imo you need your middle order men like morten to be able to raise their game in the big meetings and he once again, despite having his best season went missing when the going got tough In the playoffs, missing starts, hugging the kerb, not looking like making a pass, Somerset came to our place and laughed at us.
  13. As a season ticket holder and lifelong fan of the witches i'd like to see wholesale changes to the team despite what has no doubt been our most successful period at this level in the second half of this season! of this years team i'd like to see nico and hume return for sure, hume has bags of potential and nico is non stop entertainment (although needs to work on his gating). as for the others dependant on his finishing average i think perhaps sarjeant is worth another go, if he can keep his cool at the startling he's a good gater and has very good track craft around the heath. king has been fantastic in the second half of this year and it all depends on rulings as to whether on not a return will be possible, i think he's a top rider that goes out and wins races but not always the best team rider and potentially more strength in depth could perhaps be a better route to go down? obviously depends on final averages and if my thinking of the elite conversion for schlein is correct, but a few potentials I've enjoyed watching at foxhall and think would provide a strong team from top to bottom, (and maybe one or two eyebrows raised) rory schlein - 7.16 ryan douglas - 7.13 nicolai busk jakobsen - 6.93 niclas porsing - 6.58 nico covatti - 7.49 danyon hume - 3.00 adds up to 38.29 depending on final averages and team limit next year and any possible gb rider reductions could leave room for tom perry, danny ayres, robert branford, ashley morris at number 6 all of whom have showed some good form at foxhall on previous visits
