  1. No one jumped on his back at the first opportunity. He was given time, progress was slow, he had the occasional ok score and then it just dropped right off and he was giving up after a bend. He was signed on an average of over 7 as a heat leader and a replacement for covatti who is maximum entertainment and scores points Home and away, sedgemen couldnt beat opposition reserves. No other set of fans would have been satisfied with what we saw from him during his time with the witches if it was their team - hes clearly a better rider than we saw but for whatever reason we never got to see that rider.
  2. If the top league does to a fixed race night on a Thursday, whats the general witches fans conscensus - stay on a Thursday in the top league or stay in championship on a different day?
  3. For those that did attend the end of season do (annoyingly I was away working) was there any mention of next year from the establishment? What league we may be in depending on fixed race nights etc.??
  4. Thats an age!! 😩 I mean its irrelevant as even if Doyle rides in uk next year cant cant see him being anywhere but Swindon.... but why not Doyle?? Always been good at Ipswich and now best in the world...arguably for the last two seasons I mean its irrelevant as even if Doyle rides in uk next year cant cant see him being anywhere but Swindon.... but why not Doyle?? 5. Martin Vaculik a 2018 witch then anyone?? Haha! Anyone know when the bspa annual clown show is this year?
  6. No your number one was in Australia with his mates for both legs, also you were able to have a facility for each leg, they can only beat whats in front of em on the night but king would certainly scored enough for the witches tonight and Rory too in first leg! The witches injury curse continues
  7. Its pretty obvious how youve pulled it off, in the first leg we lost our number 5 after one race and in the return leg we lost our number 1 after one race! Pretty much sums our season up...what couldve been! Hope both rory and Danny are ok 😔
  8. Unless Ipswich and wolves are in the same league next year I cant see Schlein not coming back to us at Ipswich, and even if they are, still think hes likely to be in a witches jacket
  9. The whole Ipswich side get struck down with the same mystery illness as holder/bwd
  10. Cant believe someone like ty proctor wouldnt have taken a guest booking for panthers! Hes had plenty of guest bookings late and scored well pretty much everywhere especially at Foxhall too, surely hed want the money before the end of the season! If Scott hadnt been allowed to ride for us then no doubt Hawkins wouldve called on him once again after his performance the other week! Guested at Sheffield last night top scoring so hes still here too 😉
  11. Before this year Id not been to Sheffield before having now visited 3 times I think the best thing for Bates career would be staying at Sheffield in the top flight, dropping the championship and focusing on as much continental riding as he can - he really is like most of your boys fantastic at building speed on the fast Sheffield track and think he would surprise a lot of people given the chance on big fast Poland tracks! I would agree from what Ive seen of your team as a neutral the main riders to keep - Howarth, bjerre and wood.
  12. Average wise Scott could guest for rory at Ipswich.... Would he be allowed tho having ridden tonight for Peterborough!?
  13. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!
  14. Hes taken his second chance at Ipswich this year, off the track better dedication in the workshop and the gym have made a huge difference and the proof is in the pudding, one of the most improved riders in the championship, earnt himself a spot at Somerset and generally performed very well, why cant he improve year on year and reach the upper echelons of the sport? Injuries and work ethic off the track have hampered his progress in recent years but this year has proven theres talent and track craft in abundance.
  15. Totally agree, its a bold claim but I genuinely believe cam can go as far as he wants in the sport, how far he gets will be dictated by his dedication to all aspects of being a speedway rider - this year hes upped his game on and off the track and come on leaps and bounds - for me could be a gp rider in the future just depends how bad he wants it in the next few years
  16. Heeps, covatti, Schlein, greaves and Hume whatever league were in and then depending on what league and whats left! Obviously Danny will always be back while he wants to be and Hawkins is there but for me hes one line on outside doesnt look for a teammate to team ride and let us down in playoffs time for a change at the top end imo! Newman for me hasnt pushed on as I think hes capable of doing, I know hes been hampered by injury but I think he overturns the bike too much at Foxhall rather than allow the bike to run into the corner more - this caused the crash in the final while leading and not the first time this season. Thinking about the current championship level riders Ive seen this year Id like to see in a witches jacket Campton - good middle order man Either of the Riss brothers - particularly Erik Proctor- good third heatleader Nicholls - still proved himself to be pretty good around foxhall Masters - always good at Foxhall. If we step up and a fixed race night is set Id like to think some of the riders outside of the gp may be persuaded to return to the uk so Id like to see us try bring someone like Linus sundstrom back for example
  17. No 4000 every week is unlikely, but with the link up itfc and all the promotion theyve been doing with that the final showed the amount of those that could be interested and chose to come off of the back of the effort put in to promote the event. If they could attract half of those that came for the final regularly then that would be massive for the club.
  18. Champ ave would be 5.43 so about 3.85 I think
  19. With refreshed perspective and determination surely Gino would be worth another go..... lots of people at the start of this season thought there were better options than heeps - even disappointed we couldnt fit sarj in - and look how his season has turned out, probably one of the most improved riders in the league!
  20. Yep that was me, races where theres 3 or 4 better quality riders in it are generally pretty good, races where theres a gulf in class between the riders get strung out quickly and the wobblers fall off, leading to the track getting slated! Generally theres nothing wrong with the track, its track where you have to turn the bike and the management like to have a grippier surface to help with a home advantage, and when higher calibre riders (Home or away) go out and attack it rather than try to guide it in then the racing is good and theres very few crashes! Personally Id like to see a fixed race night and the witches return to the top flight.
  21. Very well done to Sheffield, have to say a big well done to our boys too, theyve battled all year and wevehad zero luck with injuries all year from day one! Easy to forget we never actually fielded our original 7 riders in a single meeting! Ive said earlier in the season and Ill say it again I hope the top flight goes to a single race night and I hope Ipswich return to the top flight next year, the race track has produced great racing in heats 13 & 15 all year and the overall entertainement would be best served at a higher level
  22. Obviously I wasn't there, but surely Newman having won three races and off the back of ht 14 win should have been in with roo
  23. Can't be first bend bunching if they haven't reached the first bend!! Someone has deviated into someone else's path to crash before they get there 👍🏻
  24. Think we'll to agree to disagree on this one, if Nathan has made the best start is clearly ahead from gate 1, has gone in a straight line towards the first bend and had remained no more than a foot or two from the kerb, then the only way the incident can occur is the way it did...Riss tried to lean on him they got tangled up, Riss at fault and correctly excluded. What can Nathan have possibly done to avoid that crash....nothing! What could Riss have done? Ridden marginally wider and battled for the place in the first corner and the rest of the race! I'm not suggesting in any way Erik intended for the crash to happen and I sincerely hope both riders aren't hurt and the machinery bill isn't too high as Nathan in particular has suffered a lot of that this year! But Erik caused the stoppage and was right to go IMO
