Morris could conceivably go from reserve to no.1......average has quite probably only going to have to jump to 6 something! heeps seems to have found some better speed with the new equipment Michael fantastic in first couple and learning fast every week danyon looking a lot steadier and Connor good value in his last ride unlucky not hold them both off - coping with an inside and outside attack simultaneously proved just too much! forgive me as I’m unsure, is rose coming back from/carrying an injury? To be honest if I was the Newcastle management I’d fine him for his efforts tonight - he’s either clearly not for enough to ride and shouldn’t have declared he is or he just couldn’t be bothered, either way he’s let Newcastle down don’t stand a chance when your no.5 doesn’t do more than 2 laps a race at the back!

Lots of people blaming Danny for nico’s crash but in all honesty can you say nico would’ve got round Danny and nick given ten goes..... Danny was always going to be taken to the fence with Morris knowing what was as stake and did well to stay on himself - I agree Danny doesn’t really ever look for a partner and that’s frustrating but these guys should be talking a game plan before races and even if not nico surely could’ve forseen where nick and Danny would likely be headed!? For me no one really at fault more a racing incident with 3 riders desperately racing to come out of the bend at the front but the sensible option from outside gate for nico was the cutback! hope nico heals up quick and can soon get himself back to last seasons form!

Our reserves will for sure have to up their game for this one against decent opposing 6&7 pair

Second bend was dreadful today - you could see them bouncing over a couple of bumps so then as they land grab a handful of grip and get launched towards the fence fairplay to lakeside rode hard and deserved the result felt sorry for nico found himself in the wrong place a couple of times needs to maybe make better decisions! heeps needs to make some starts desperately german looking more and more confident Reserves need to work hard - need more from them both at home impressed with Ellis last Friday and tonight - all on the new godden engine will be interesting how long before we start to see more and more of them! If people keep getting beat they’ll soon be wanting one!!

There’s not an automatic right to all four back no - but standing on the second bend it was clear to see all four made a good start together it got nipped up and Bowtell from gate two made clear contact with haertel and haertel with Morley on the outside - both continued on trying to save it and subsequently fell of on their own but it was a clear case of first bend bunching and the ref denied the paying public of a speedway race with all four riders back in! Wouldn’t have made much difference to be result but just seemed a very harsh decision on the two young lads racing hard for the first corner!

Yep pretty much sums it up!! Felt sorry for haertel - only got 2 rides didn’t really see the sense in taking his third off him not gonna learn tracks by not riding them! Shocking decision in heat 8 to exclude the two riders btw if that’s not 4 riders making a good start and bunching I don’t know what is!! on a side note I believe Ellis was riding the godden engine all night tonight - both man and machine impressive.

Ironic after all the rain offs the first meeting we have such a drying wind the track was slicker than slick!! Does not suit our boys! Good start for the German! reserves dropped too many points from scoring positions and that was the difference - king too slow in ht15 rory said after he made a mistake but he ran out of room because Danny too slow! early days but the lack of track time really showed - well done Peterborough came well up for the contest and deserved the win - impressed with palm-toft

Yep correct decision! Forecast looking much more optimistic for Peterborough on Sunday! So let’s hope it stays fine, itching for a speedway fix now!!

Encouraging to see both Connor and danyon score some good points tonight in NL challenge - 12 from 5 and 10 from 4 rides respectively, should be a good confidence boost for them to get the season going!

It’s a real shame if the weather wrecks the double header this Friday! I’ll be at Foxhall whatever if there’s a chance it’s on but I won’t be travelling away if the forecast is still so poor! Let’s just hope it changes and blows out before Friday!!

Feel like it’s a good opportunity for us to take something away from this meeting - lots of our boys go well there and we pushed your much better looking side close last year - however it’s looking quite likely that it could be the first meeting of the year for the witches which will favour your boys for sure so I’m going for a panthers win but us to pinch a point 47-43 something like that!!

Drozdz at 3 would suggest he’s settled to his home track very quickly in practise - can see Belle Vue a comfortable winner tonight....looking at the head to head in the lineups can only realistically see batchelor outscoring his opposite number in Drozdz at 3 around Belle Vue, maybe Wajtknecht against Etheridge ...but anything less than 15 point lead and I think Swindon will have a very good chance to turn the tie around! Makes for interesting viewing from afar and a great meeting to get the season started with!
