  1. The thing with passing is people do also sometimes have to accept that the quickest riders are also the better gaters
  2. Not understanding the affect of water falling from the sky is a new low even for this forum
  3. Careful that’s far too rational for this forum
  4. Ipswich are a very professionally run club are you suggesting Chris Louis would lie?
  5. From the witches website Ipswich line-up with Charles Wright guesting for Jason Doyle. Doyle boarded his flight back to the UK on Monday but due to issues with the plane, all passengers were told to disembark.
  6. My understanding is they are set with the caveat of flexibility if track conditions dictate a need to move it a race or two for safety
  7. Grading timing due to weather and track getting a bit choppy. Riss was comfortably in front of Danny, lots of riders were turning that bit earlier due to how greasy the track was getting and skating across the track somewhat, king just misjudged and wiped him out don’t think he can have any complaints for the decision
  8. Tbh Thursday they prepared the track slicker anticipating the rain that came, bomber never been a gater and a slick track rider has he, last couple seasons he’s been pretty good at Foxhall, his worst season like a lot riders was the one he actually rode for us - probably those couple of years were the worst in his career tho been significantly better again recently. Way back when him and KK won the pairs at Foxhall for Coventry too so he’s had good nights at Foxhall throughout his career
  9. Klindt goes better at Foxhall than riss, weird team change that must be more to it
  10. How’s it looking trackside now? Raining at mine atm
  11. I mean met office has forecast rain on and off throughout today all week and been pretty accurate today
  12. I think technically you’re not supposed to take food/drink in but I’ve never been stopped and told the drink in my coat pocket can’t come in with me…so discretion advised but should get away with it unless you’re trying to smuggle a Christmas hamper hah seats are unreserved as far as I’m aware but I stand rather than use them, hope you enjoy your visit
  13. King was superb, Dan T a very promising start to 2024 Carey on like that he’ll be one of if not the best RS, improvement to come from rew and Ellis, Jenkins solid, Emil missed the start early on but once dialled he was unstoppable. Belle vue ran way too many last places - will struggle on the road if they carry on like rhat
  14. Makes sense to me as a starting point - king and rew started to find a good understanding on track last season, rew was pretty handy on the inside with king outside team riding. Ellis typically opens the throttle and heads for the outside similar to king, as a pair could see them getting in each others way on the outside.
  15. Emil 13 Rew 6 King 8 Ellis 7 Doyle 12 Jenkins 3 Dan T 3 52-38
  16. Agree to disagree. saying joe found it tough, probably too soon for him to be riding at this level is being realistic, calling an 18 year old kid awful is unnecessary imo.
  17. I mean plenty of riders haven’t turned up for meetings they don’t fancy over the years…former world champion last year took Michael out of two clubs doing so, and given his struggles I can imagine it was tough to keep going at times for Joe. Not trying to spin anything, you have to temper the expectations of youngsters, guess I just prefer to support young lads giving it their best rather than tear them down
  18. Not awful, turned up every week, gave it his best, A for effort just very much out of his depth which in turn hit his confidence too. Season or two too soon that’s all, and when guesting late season he’d been winning races in the lower leagues, confidence was back and was closer to pace with a couple of big points to help win the cup. Will be one of the weaker reserves at the start of the season but the potential is there.
  19. we had the same chat two pre seasons ago when max was belle vue, you claimed doyle was on the decline and max on the rise and he'd be the best in the league over doyle easily that year.... how's the past two seasons worked out on that metric? doyle has comfortably out performed max home and away both of the last two seasons. ipswich came within a heat advantage or two of winning both the cup and league last year and if the weather hadn't played havoc on the sheffield leg of the grand final in normal track conditions ipswich would've had enough to hold onto their lead from the home leg imo ellis is an upgrade on riss dan t one of the best rising stars jenkins an upgrade on hume marginally with greater scope to improve new end of season was superb in the playoffs and comfortably out performing his season average in the last few meetings can't see any world where ipswich are the 6th best team in this league unless they're ravaged with injuries again.
  20. Foxhall should serve as a better home track for Adam I think, he’s had some very good meetings in the last few years and some indifferent of course. One of best seasons was in the Swindon team with Doyle too so hopefully that can breed some confidence into him riding with Jason again. with our top 2 being so imperious home and away the pressure on the rest of the team is so much lower than in other years, no one really has to do more than the expected/capable to be in the playoffs, too many years the teams have been built lumping pressure on the likes of Danny to go out and be a top 1/5 and it’s just not a fair expectation of him
  21. tungate rode for ipswich year before last? league looks the strongest its looked this year in a very long time imo! tungsten quick on big fast tracks, often struggles on tighter tracks he has to turn the bike hard
  22. Rate Vaculik highly, but he was outperformed by Jack Holder in the GP's last season and I really don't think he'd be on the level of Doyle/Emil in UK straight away, really hope Brum have got him tho would be another great asset for UK speedway in 2024!
  23. He didn’t come over for a meeting due a supposed ankle injury meaning they got a facility for him, and then posted an instagram story of himself out for a trail run the next morning - he just didn’t fancy whatever right technical track he was supposed to be racing on that week. don’t sign a contract over here if your polish club aren’t on board either tbh, it’s unprofessional to sign a contract and then pick and choose when you come whether that’s you or the polish team dictating.
  24. Me too, he demonstrated such a commitment to racing British speedway last season, tbh if I was Chris Louis I’d have chopped Emil in for him!!
