Putting a lot of faith in the upside of low averages batch and riss are on, if they both hit the ground running it’s a good side if we get the 2021version of batch Louis gonna look pretty bad again, it’s a bit galling to think we could’ve fitted in a much stronger rider than say Heeps or starke erik mentioned as an away rider he’s never scored less than 8 at Foxhall if he does that all season as a home rider he’ll be a very dependable 3/4
-
Tbh while it’s a shame to be that far under the limit if they’re the final two, batch and riss both on falsely low averages coming off poor seasons, but riss rides Foxhall very well as has batch in the past, plus batch has had his best seasons when riding in a team with doyle so both could easily end up being trump cards, the only rider to score more points in the league than Danny king last season was bewley who’s now departed. I dare say doyle will comfortably be the highest scoring rider in the league next year, starke and Rowe will be one of the strongest reserve pairings for sure, always question marks over Heeps seems to have and upward season and then a bad one but hopefully the influence of doyle can help him Shame to give up so much of the team building limit but if you took all the numbers away and just showed me the names on paper against the other sides I’d be pretty happy tbh deffo think batch is a better option than buzz would’ve been, would of course take holder Snr in a heart beat but will believe the rumours when it’s confirmed, he’s supposedly been coming back to uk every off season for years now….
-
Could say the same about pboro and oystercard tbh, last season was an anomaly, rose above the level he’d previously achieved at any point in his career, bringing him back on a 7+ average after the horrific injuries makes zero sense other than sentiment

https://youtu.be/vLY2F8uze0A the better than lego quote is from an Aussie sportsman being interviewed back in the 90’s - became a bit of a cult phrase Aussies have used when interviewed after winning sporting events - along with drinking champagne from their shoes. Believe doyle made the quote when he won the world title haha

Obvs will reserve judgement on the side until the full 1-7 of all teams are complete and we’re able to compare but bringing buzz over rather than resigning cook seems a bizarre move for ipswich if true
-
Doyle confirmed, great start to team building, proper no.1
-
FYI heeps was included in my 1-7 draft based on me doing the maths on the other six and it leaving 5.26… with cam at 5.10 if I’ve got the other six right let’s face it cam will be that 7th rider, I’m not all for him or all against him, clearly this season he was massively hampered by the shoulder injury - tbh don’t think he ever had full fitness or strength back, but he did have a slow start before that, equally he can be a good rider at home and away at times if dropping to reserve
-
Time will tell won’t it

Doyle heeps riss cook king starke kemp r/s fits, would surely be the team to beat imo
-
King passed riss going over the start/finish line was clearly in front and can ride whatever line he wants, no contact riss got of the bike trying to con the ref

Crump clearly not nearly fit enough to race, could t hold the bike and turn, done us a disservice tonight declaring himself fit, r/r or a guest would surely scored more than 3 -

That is a shocking all 4 back call, fell off on his own -
Good moves, sad for the two lads out injured but that’s the tough side of speedway - with the lack of rider availability in uk I’m sure both will get opportunities later in the season when fit again
-
Kemp went well here last year in the British final too didn’t he? Scored 8/9 points if memory serves me correctly
-
Kept quiet when everyone was predicting a 60-30 drumming for tonight’s meeting, tonight’s meeting for me was entirely predictable tbh, Heeps making mistakes early meeting throwing away points riding far too wide when the tracks dry and no dirt line built up yet - predictable nicholls a 5 point rider past his prime scoring 4 points at no.1 - predictable riders such as Jorgensen Kerr, lawson and riss continuing to score and ride the Foxhall track well as they have their entire careers - predictable A witches team without klindt and now crump completely lacking gating prowess at the business end of the meeting - predictable hawkins failing to tell his riders he wanted a 3-3 in heat 13 so they couldn’t use the tac sub in heat 14 and proctor having had 7 rides would’ve been the weaker reserve Kingsley in that race instead of lawson - predictable kerr and lawson jumping out sharply for a 5-1 in heat 14 on the tac sub - predictable i didn’t expect to lose tonight but I certainly couldn’t see the 60-30 people were predicting when they have riders that ride Foxhall well. need to make a good addition pronto in Jordan’s place and desperately need better guests in crumps place than nicholls he’s just not reliably that level anymore and hasn’t been for sometime, would’ve been better to have ostergaard guest at 2 and r/r for crump tonight tbh

BWD would be a great option to replace jordy who sadly looks to be out for a while

Possibly the most sensible post of yours I’ve ever read on here Steve haha beggars belief that they haven’t done this -
Fair enough just two riders I could initially think of that don’t have top flight spots currently and imo are both a fair bit better than proctor - kennett has always been a very hot and cold rider in fairness tho

Ipswich vs Sheffield 27th May
89buttons replied to 2ndbendbeerhut's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Good professional win from the boys everyone chipping in, glad to see drew looking much more confident this week, Jordan bound to be a little off the pace as everyone has already been riding sure he’ll get going in no time, particularly pleased with Heeps pressure win against howarth and Ellis on tac sub, a 5-1 against us there could easily of let them back in to take a point -
Richard lawson Eddie kennett surely both better options than proctor you’d imagine, to essentially only score 17 points at home is pretty damn poor early season or not

No berating of Redcar whatsoever, simply stating a fact that ipswich had to wait for his Redcar visa to be approved before they could apply for the secondary visa as baldy had asked if he heard correctly that we only applied for his visa last week! I had no doubt that Redcar will have had the ball rolling on the visa application months ago given how long it’s been known he was in their team - hence I suggested it’s farcical we’ve come to the tapes and it’s still not sorted, but I was not suggesting this is in anyway Redcar or ipswich promotions fault, the whole visa system seems completely backward and outdated imo - something I’m certain will now get worse with brexit -

Justice for fact they were on a 5-1 having both blatantly jumping the start - not a single race brought back to the tapes tonight, several races Belle Vue got away with movement and guessing the start tonight! decent opening meeting, lots to improve on from an ipswich perspective, looked like a team that’s now built 2 points under the limit sadly, crump will get sharper I’m sure and kemp will pick up no doubt looked nervous tonight my biggest concern is we’ve got a 3rd heat leader now riding at 5 and we’ve got a second string riding at 3 - I’m a fan of both king and Heeps, both good riders but with the loss of klindt they’re now riding in positions above their level and are going to consistently come up against better opposing numbers home and away -

89buttons replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes because it’s a secondary visa ippo had to wait for his primary visa submitted by Redcar to be approved which got held up for some unknown reason but we couldn’t apply until that one was done - farcical given how long the teams have known he’s riding for their teams -

Bit for a joke this visa stuff, how long have that had to sort it out!? Frustrating also that it’s down to the Redcar promotion not getting it sorted in time and not ours! Strange how jake only decided to come back a couple of weeks ago and Jordan has been all winter yet jakes is sorted and Jordan not
