  1. And if they all continue to improve and then in 12-24 months no longer qualify for the rising star scheme and subsequently the opportunities disappear I fail to see how it’s working, if the bspa really wanted to help progress British youngsters from inexperience to their full potential then they’d make team building limit tighter, that way the likes of mountain and Hume would be attractive prospects as a no.6 having graduated from the rising star scheme.
  2. If neither Hume or mountain have a ride in top flight this season from the start then the rising star scheme has completely failed, two young English riders given an opportunity to gain experience in the top flight, take it and both do very well in 2021, now they’re told sorry lads, you did well but now you’re kicked to the kerb because you’re not allowed to ride at no.7 anymore. how is that helping progress their careers in any way?
  3. That’s magic confirmed as not at pboro then
  4. Same here mate, love having a season ticket and not having to find the money every week but just don’t have the money to shell out on one atm, baby on the way April sadly don’t see how I’m going to be able to afford to get along to many meetings next year, tbf likely miss a couple purely down to the newborn anyway so would negate the season ticket saving anyway
  5. Would love to see covatti in a witches suit again one day tbh, pure entertainment
  6. Except it’s only that far under budget due to Hume getting a 25% reduction, real-time achieved averages it wouldn’t fit! So not exactly that weak is it
  7. Pretty sure it does, belle vue team only fits by virtue of Brennan getting 25% rising star graduate discount, so Hume would be 3.07 doyle 10.32 rew 4.00 king 6.41 zagar 7.20 holder 7.16 hume 3.07 thomas r/s 38.16
  8. Can’t see Craig cook being back at Ipswich tbh, finished 2021 with us, was on what looked like a decent average headed into 2022 and his stock has only fallen… having just looked at starting averages given we were 2.1 points under the building limit we could’ve fit cook in last years team in place of any of batch riss or even heeps, so if Louis had seen enough to want him back at the end of 2021 he would’ve done, be amazed after his 2022 season he now wants him, stranger things have happened but would be a shock to me
  9. Arguably more likely to happen if they’re getting a full season tho, the set up costs with mechanics and bikes is the same for half a season or full season, so prob would be cheaper from the start of the year
  10. One of the two pawlicki brothers maybe…? Not sure if they’d be what we need at 5 but imo Tungate just ain’t it on 6.61
  11. Yep really hope so. Proper number 5 needed! Fingers crossed
  12. Remember Sam Masters on tv after being passed by bewley a few years back was asked about how dialled in the home riders are set up wise and he joked that it’s that and he was beaten by about 15kg hahahah
  13. Tbh I have no problem with batch at all. I find him frustrating, he can be so so good and so so poor and it’s extra frustrating when he is poor knowing how good he can be! would he be one of the first names on wish list no not necessarily, that said don’t really feel it was altogether fair on him this year, he was exposed at 5, not like he’d come to us on 8+ and lost 3 points like before… if he fits into the side as the 4th/5th average and his responsibility was as a second string happily have him back, all depends where he fits into the team, wouldn’t be right to have him back and bung him at 5 hoping he’s going to return to a 2018 troy
  14. Current or coming out retirement again a la crump
  15. I’d take him over batchelor, very similar averages. he was great the meeting he guested for us last season
  16. He’s good at Foxhall, he’s good at wolves and he’s good at Leicester at least so for me if he’s essentially coming in for summers/barker from last years team it’s a fairly hefty upgrade
  17. Think this is likely the team, essentially upgrading summers/barker to nick Morris and swapping out starke for Kenyan rew. It’s a better side than last year imo, if it is the team hopefully rew finds his feet quickly as does whoever the rising star is, shame we can’t have Hume for another season at 7 as he’s great round foxhall
  18. Maybe if you actually went and watched some live speedway you’d see for yourself how Doyle is so easily worth that and an awful lot more!
  19. If he can get his straight then yes kemp 100%, seems to put far too much pressure on himself to impress riding for his home club to his detriment, arguably even as an away rider he was doing the same last year, if he can get his head right he’s very talented on the bike but beats himself a lot still atm
  20. Doyle 10.32 King 6.40 Morris 6.48 Riss 6.00 Ellis 6.72 Hume 3.07 = 38.99 rising star fits nicely, could swap any of Ellis/king/Morris for batch and upgrade Hume to a 4 point newcomer, not sure if there’s value in that or not tho. not sure who is the best rising star choice either really, possibly Jenkins or gilkes, Rowe has ability but he’d need to show about 10000% more commitment for British speedway to get another chance imo.
  21. I’m all for Hume being back he was superb last imo, but only if it facilitates the saving in points actually being used in the top 5 id take Hume and Chris holder over king and rew for example
  22. That’s a dangerous path to walk tho isn’t it, you’re saying £20 is your upper limit, being honest many people probably in the same boat, offer riders too much and don’t get the gate clubs fold. If they signed 7 world beaters and put it up to say £25 so many people wouldn’t go they’d crumble sadly. one thing to be said for Louis he’s always run the club responsibly and not overreached financially in the bid for success, we’ve seen so many clubs fold I’d take 10 more years of near misses and consistent speedway than a year of success and closure.
  23. Think Morris has improvement on 6.48, he’s a better rider round Foxhall than monmore imo, but agree not super exciting, the correct 4pt young euro rider at 6 could make all the difference to how the team looks tho that said I maintain to be successful come the business end of meetings and the season Doyle needs a proper number 5 to back him up at the top end
  24. Don’t think that’ll be far wrong, think the idea of a new euro youngster on a 4 would be more exciting than Allen.
