  1. At least with Spud and Jorgensen guesting, we still have a chance of taking points. They do well around Armadale. You just have to grit your teeth with this whole rider priority rubbish and move on. Just look for the positive side.
  2. Feel daft for asking, but how many points did Cookie score? 12+?
  3. Not sure. I do remember someone talking about the diamonds team and saying "it's nearly a full English team, so there should be no riders missing for meetings" The 1 and 5 beg to differ, apparently.
  4. A rider from my other favourite team (Aaron) guests for us and i don't even get to go to the meeting. Typical... Anyone fancy taking my place at college tomorrow? Anyway, I reckon we'll take a point at least. Draw if we're lucky.
  5. It was mainly because I was hoping they'd sign someone who our lads could actually beat more than anything. Just a pain to watch our reserves at the backin nearly every race.
  6. As long as he stops trying too hard and stops looking over his shoulder all the time, it should be fine.
  7. Well said. Danny last season was abysmal at times, this season he did well. Maybe the same will happen to Connor if he stays on next year?
  8. replacing Richard Hall with a reserve who will still beat our 6 and 7 is a kick in the teeth. Especially since its our rivals. Phillips could possibly beat him if and when he returns, certainly seems he's made an improvement since last season. If Connor gets a good start and stops looking back all the time, he could do well. He did get a second place at the Media Prima Arena after all. Of course, theres still Hopwood. Was quite happy with his debut. Rode well. Hit his average, albeit a 2.00, but once he gets to grips with brough i reckon he'll bring up his average a bit.
  9. My apologies! I thought I'd wrote i would be happy to have them in the future if possible, but like people say, Shanes is more focused on grasstrack, and Embleton just needs a bit of time.
  10. Even as a 6 and 7, I would be happy with Shanes and Embleton.
  11. Got to hand it to Clegg. Ran rings today around some of the Diamonds. I'm happy with a draw, because both teams leave with something.
  12. We normally have bad results away from home, so it's just a case of relying on home fixtures. I don't think Phillips would have scored as much as Shanes. Both teams rode well to be honest. It was back and forth on the scorecard all night, I think heat 8 was the decider when we got a 5-1.
  13. Us getting a win is pretty much always a given, but I agree. Wouldnt be surprised if the Monarchs took a point.
  14. Had to choose between tiggers or diamonds again, decided to go down to Peterborough to watch the home team. I'm just glad both teams won today, made my weekend. Hopefully the Diamonds beat the moanarchs tomorrow too.
  15. Beautiful racing all night, one of the best matches this season so far. I never thought we'd actually win. Guess I should stop doubting the Diamonds when it comes to away fixtures!
  16. Larsen and Bach were basically the 2010 equivalent of Kus and Lindgren. They'd spend so long trying to beat each other, we'd end up with a 5-1.
  17. Got to especially thank him for our 2010 season. That was one of our best seasons in recent times. We won the KO Cup, PL Playoffs, and Premier Trophy. Kenni also won the PLRC and broke the Track Record at Brough. Maybe 2017 could be similar, if only we could get better at Away fixtures. He was and always will be by far one of my favourite Newcastle riders. Sad to hear he's packed it in, hopefully he finds success in the rest of his life!
  18. Think I remember Shanes beating B.W.D. The scoreline after the meeting would probably look different if it were Phillips instead.
  19. It hasn't exactly been the best draw for reserves for this season. It always seems like they're put against riders who just annihilate them on any given day. Doesn't help for the confidence, and every team seems to have a reserve who struggles. I won't say does bad, because to give credit where credits due, Phillips and Coles both try their hardest. Sometimes I just think the issue with Connor is he tries a bit too hard going into the bend and slips off. All we can do is just hope for improvement in all the reserves.
  20. The last time I remember us having a good showing at P'Boro was the fours. And that was the one that got cancelled. With James Shanes guesting for Phillips, I think we might actually sneak an away win.
  21. It'll just be another name for me to shout! Hoping the lad does well!
  22. yeah, but there might be a bit of shale out of place and he won't ride. 😂
  23. Just left the comets, apparently he was talking about retiring. Seems unlikely.
  24. It was a bit of shock to see a picture of Danny appear on my Facebook timeline, I wondered what the post was about. The news about the injury was just as shocking. Told my American friend (shes also a diamonds/tigers fan) and even she got a bit upset about it. Hope for a speedy recovery, get well soon Danny!! On another note, I could be wrong, but didn't something similar happen last season? He was getting better, crashed in the national and it knocked his confidence in the prem? hope it doesn't happen again. He's finally starting to bang in points.
