Bandits V Diamonds 10/6/17
DiamondGlory replied to havenagotahope's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
I was optimistic about an away win today. Half way through, I'd be happy with a draw. By heat 12, I just wanted a point. To be beaten by 13 by the team at the bottom of the league, it really shows how desperate we are for the team to change. Worrall and Lambert scored 27 of 40 points for the diamonds. Everyone else-excluding Hopwood, he hit his average- need to get it together. We also need to decide who deserves to be captain, and why it SHOULDN'T be Lindgren. Both his 2nd places tonight came from beating a reserve and a fallen rider. That's nothing to be impressed by. We're never going to win anything if this keeps up. On the other hand, well done to the bandits, you were obviously the better team on the night. That's now the third time I've been to Berwick and seen a win this season. Maybe I shouldn't have went tonight. -

As long as you're shouting for the diamonds, it'll be good to see you all. -

So it's basically looking like Morris Etheridge Howe Doolan Bridger (if fit) Gappmaier Ruddick -
I still hope for the day where Larsen and Bach ride for us again in the same team. I hope Rene joins us shortly.

We seem to do decent around Berwick. Hopefully both teams are at full strength and the meeting is great. Gonna be optimistic and call a close diamonds win. -

I have this horrible feeling we're just waiting to be knocked out of the cup. Hopefully not. -
Sheffield V Newcastle 8th June 2017
DiamondGlory replied to 4thbender's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
On the plus side, at least it's not going to be another loss in the books. (For now.) -
I hope I don't have to show up to Brough at 8 to do both tracks

Even when it doesn't quite make sense, who cares, it's adorable! -
I completely forgot about Berwick. A win could be possible there.

Its getting old, we get it. Redcar deserved a re-run. It didn't happen. There's no need to make a new thread every hour. -
I don't even think we'll take a point this week. We've never been that great at Sheffield, and the monarchs run us very close at our track. I don't think they'll get a draw this week.

It's a bit rubbish how this was supposed to be the year where British speedway got a whole new revamp and fairer regulations. It's been 3 months, and everyone's just making up their own rules as they please. And they expect new fans to just show up every week and enjoy it? A fan's happiness will only be as high as the quality they are seeing. Meeting should have been re-run, at least.

Figured it out, it was at Brough in the KOC, we won 62-28. I just knew we'd hammered them, turns out it was at home. Whoops!
-
Sheffield away and Edinburgh at home next week. Am I wrong in thinking that we beat Sheffield away 60-30 last season? Edinburgh looks to be a home loss this time around. I hope the reshuffled team proves me wrong.

My favourite moment by Roy so far had to be at Peterborough earlier in the season, when they faced Newcastle. I was standing near Roy on the second bend, when Poppy the Panther was walking past, on the fans side of the fence. Waved at everyone, then got to Roy and stopped and carried on walking. To which Roy responded, "Aw okay, so you're not talking to me this week then, you (expletive)?" It's safe to say Poppy wasn't best pleased. -

Not a popular opinion, but I think Roy Clarke is alright. If the BSPA let him say half the things he said when he wasnt on the Mic, it would be a lot more amusing. I suppose with it being a family sport, you have to keep it kid friendly. -

Well, Ben is a 2.00 rider (though the magazine said 4.00 in the averages page) and he hit that again today, even Connor scored a point. And I have a feeling Lewis will be back to normal next week. I should hope, we're against the top team. Ashley Morris did a cracking job tonight, think he finished on 11 from 5. But you said we stopped them from taking a point, did I fill the programme in wrong,or does losing by 6 points or less no longer net you a consolation point? -

once again, speedway proves its the circus of the sports industry. Full of f**king clowns. On another note, does that mean he just Auty-matically gets his place in the team back? -
Glasgow V Berwick Sunday 4 June 2017 6pm
DiamondGlory replied to SharpenRake's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Heard it was a decent meeting, well done to berwick for putting on a good show and to Glasgow for getting another win. Etheridge did pretty good, and it really shows how great of a rider Nick Morris is when he beats 3 heat leaders at their home track. Wonder how it would have been had Bridger been there? There's always another time. -

Passing galore. Some absolutely beautiful racing tonight, almost as good as Peterborough away, but not quite there. Very much enjoyed today. Both teams deserved points, and im just glad we took 3. -

Most of us (including myself) thought Scunthorpe would be a walk in the park, and we beat them by 2. Sheffield are a strong side. Connor definitely has the talent to beat MacDonald. The confidence and the ability to stay on going into the first bend? Maybe not. Best of luck yo the lad. I'll be cheering him on.
