Newcastle V Ipswich 9th July 2017 Championship
DiamondGlory replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
It was a lot closer than I had it down for - well done to Hopwood for scoring 4 with a broken foot. Hope King is okay after his fall. -
Hopefully, but our main aim is trying to beat the Bandits for most team changes in a season.

Sgb Championship Best Pairs 2017
DiamondGlory replied to idh's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
We might not be too high in the league, but if there's anything we're in with a chance for, it's the pairs. Gutted i can't make it down there this year, but I hope the diamonds can do it this time round! -
It was a good showing on Sunday. Hopefully we won't need to make anymore reserve changes after this. Unfortunate to hear about Hopwood, he's becoming a decent reserve for the diamonds. Hope its not too serious. Bowtell may not be a world beater, but scoring 4 on your debut at Brough is a good way to get noticed, and obviously, it paid off for him.

We already beat Berwick in the championship this season, and I think it was by 20+ points. Even without Lambert and Worrall, the guests will probably do great. A win seems more than likely. Would prefer the tigers pairing As for weather, it's only a continued light drizzle. I saw and heard the tractors out on the track (I live close, i didnt travel )so I imagine they're doing their best to keep the meeting on. Hopefully it should still be on.

Transfer Windows & One League
DiamondGlory replied to thebaron's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Okay sure, so there are enough riders to go around. The transfer window seems like a big step forward, and would really shake up the new league. But then you have to consider that if it's now one big league, when does each season start and end, providing each team faces another team home and away? That'll take a longer period of time than April to October, meaning it will have to stretch into winter. I imagine riding in thick snow probably isn't too good. Added onto this is the fact that if a lot of meetings get postponed, they'll end up running into the NEXT season so they'd end up not happening. Transfer Window = Yes One League = No -
You must be f****ing joking. Both teams rode bad AWAY. We won by 21 at home. That's more than the comets could handle. Face it, we were the better team over both legs. And as for worst and unridable, Glasgow beat us and the monarchs got a draw. Just cause you had one of the worst performances this season doesn't mean the track is unridable, just your team was bad.

"The greatest comeback since Lazarus!" ~Sid Waddell Both meetings were good. There were some good moves, and Cook was on fire, no doubt about it, both teams performed well at their own track. I'm still a bit shocked the diamonds came back from being 18 points down at one point. Hopwood really pulled it out the bag, scoring 7 in the second leg. The only thing I wasn't too happy about as how it ended. Heat 15 will definitely be a talking point, and personally, I didn't think it should have ended that way. I understand the rules, but Cook obviously wasn't ready after that crash. I definitely agree the second leg went on for too long, if Roy wasn't there it would have been far worse. A bit too much grading on the 3rd and 4th bend. Speaking of 4th bend, I hope Lambert and Sarjeant make a speedy recovery. Hopefully we do well against the Tigers!

If weather is fine, this could be a quality meeting, and will possibly be seen again in the playoffs 55-35 to the tigers. -

Coles Out Now For Captain Fantastic
DiamondGlory replied to boomerang's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
My main point, (which I worded wrong) was that yes, its the the top 5, but that makes it sound like Lambert and Worrall are bad, when they are the 2 man team people keep referring to when we lose. That's why I said 2, 3, and 4. I do agree though, Rose and Morria are improving slightly. -
I only saw two problems with the coverage to be honest. 1. The camera work wasn't great, just focusing on the leader won't show if there's any passes by the 3rd and 4th rider which means if it's a great pass, no one at home saw it. If there was a way to show all 4 riders, that would be better than just 2. 2. The only problem I had with the graphics was that on two occasions the wrong rider name came up while they were at the tapes, which led to a bit of confusion. I recognised the rider kevlars, but for newer fans to the sport it would be harder for them to figure out. Other than that, it displayed the right stuff most of the time. Overall though, the coverage was decent. I would rather have some coverage rather than none.
