  1. May I just put more info out there to go against saying more should be done on twitter and facebook, as yes there seems to be twitter posts however if its people connected to the club its most likely that their followers are the same even if crazeehorse is sharing etc its the same connection for most of the season, its still good its flooded on twitter but again as I've pointed out it's unlikely reaching new people Agree with what baldy has said With twitter and facebook you can use analytics to promote posts so it will appear on the timeline or newsfeed of the friends of people who follow the club on twitter or facebook, you can target age, sex, location and much more For example I think maybe 3 people out of my 1000 on facebook follow the witches but because I follow them if they used analytics and done sponsored posts they'd reach a high % of my friends who don't follow them but are local I done this a couple of years ago where I held a show in Colchester and had Luke Barnatt ex UFC but from Basildon fighting on the event (tho he lived in Spain) I promoted a post that would not only appear on the newsfeeds of the friends of people who liked my page but assigned it to people age 18-35 male from basildon and the local areas vwho were into combat sports and clubbing Mainly because its his old hunting ground and also he was an ex doorman so people would recognise the name, it was his first fight since being dropped by the ufc and his first fight in the uk in several years The post had over 100+ shares and reached nearly 500,000 people and ultimately I sold over 40% over capacity The tools that are available to promoters are there if they understand them and take the risk, it cost me £300 which was the cost of 10 tickets
  2. Nice to see some additional promoting which can't be knocked but more could be done especially on Twitter/facebook and for £100 or so its worth a shot it worked for me every time exposure wise
  3. Advantage witches depending how fit heeps is, even with battered up riders Sheffield should win by 10-12 which leaves it all to play for on Saturday
  4. My event was mixed martial arts one of the top 5 shows in the UK with ex UFC guys on etc but our stream was a free stream if we charged we'd maybe have 300-400 people pay for it
  5. Ok how about half naked ladies flyering outside the footy and throughout the day in town, facebook sponsored post can reach thousands and would cost about £100 max 😁 Weren't all four league meetings close this season in the sense that the on aggregate there were only 2-4 points in it?? If witches can get within 12 at their place game on
  6. Glasgow have the finances to make it work and a growing fan base because they are promoted properly. White knight, you are quite correct in what you say, when I say the four teams are going up maybe I meant they are joining forces with the other 8 Looks like doyle, holder etc won't be back so the leagues are even closer than ever before so either way you look at it, call it what you like both leagues are practically the same, all you'd lose are those few guys under say 4/5 who then become heat leaders in the national league
  7. I didn't see many at all, probably being kind say 20-30 kids
  8. I would agree with baldy, but if louis gets promoting now it's possible to get 5,000 in plus Town play that morning, get some flyers out, get a page advert in the program, get on tv, get on radii, get invitations into schools.... kids free!! Loads of kids will want to come is £5 or whatever worth it to fill the place and have mum, dad or both paying £14?
  9. I use to stream my events on my own website and get over 100k views its easily done and especially so at certain tracks, but bspa have no imagination
  10. Glasgow, Sheffield, Ipswich and Peterborough should move up to create the "British League" Have a league cup of 4 groups of 3 maybe regionalised so you have Ipswich, Peterborough and Kings Lynn is one group Ride home and away once, so 4 meetings, top of each group qualify for the knockout stage and so on I'd run this as 13 heat format points 4,3,2,1 Then run a ko cup competition, 16 heat format 3,2,1,0 points Then have the league with home and away once under the current format 22-30+ meetings The rest of the championship teams make up an expanded national league and develop more opportunity to get british youngsters into the sport
  11. So who's the best solution if connor is indeed out?
  12. Showers I believe are on/off and only light, I'll try making this one along with two other generations of Cooks 😁
  13. Not a personal dig at you jenga but speedway is about as far away as it's ever been from the fans... bit like when football fans say "our team" that has also detached itself from the normal fan but has the money to do that, speedway doesn't and the bspa fail to act upon it or said promoters and/or club officials treat their paying public poorly Sad times
  14. I can't rely on chris ever since he revealed he's bad at math 😂😂😂😂😂
  15. Aren't both meetings rearranged? If so it would make sense that whoever signed said rider first would get priority, so in that case Witches get Schlein, wolves keep Greaves who else are witches needing guests for
  16. I'm not a coventry fan but what you are doing Jeff can only be applauded and I hope coventry are racing again very soon
  17. New tuner not done speedway before but would use a guy as his "factory" rider
  18. Specific tuner Free tuning and engine rebuilds for the full season
  19. I think I give up with the sport as a whole, I've offered a great opportunity for next year to work with guys re engine work and the most positive reply was from someone who just took a chance to ask who wasn't offered 😂 maybe its just a speedway thing where people just don't get it but I'm not surprised if it filters from the top downwards
  20. Just my opinion but big names won't bring back big crowds, speedway has its support base plus the odd mate that will tag along. For example, if Messi was guesting for Blackpool you'd get a stadium full to watch him because football is followed by millions and even non football fans know who he is I had Luke Barnatt fight on my MMA show, his first fight since being released from the UFC, local essex fighter on a local show, a big draw for the event, casual fans never heard of him so they didn't pay to see a name etc interest was only among mma fans People who think the crowds will flock back like the 80's need to realise that most of those people have probably sadly passed away
  21. I appreciate I'm in the minority, I understand and appreciate he works hard and amuses some but on one side some of his jokes are a bit borderline and in such a position you need to understand that some jokes might be a bit personal to people. In his own defence he obviously would never know the life story of every supporter in the stadium but again in such a position you don't go there to begin with. But being honest wherever I go I don't pay all too much attention to the announcer I block the majority out, been Peterborough twice and couldn't tell you anything about the presenter, I'm off to watch MMA this weekend and I probably won't take any notice there 😂 If kevin has moved on then wish him all the best and most importantly good health, let's wait and see who gets the gig, all I know is I would be absolutely shocking at it
  22. I'm not saying he doesn't do a good job and I can see why people like him but not for me and that's taking away any personal differences, not too keen on the other guy either but its one of those jobs where you can't please everyone. I had a darts MC a very good one as well present MMA and I thought he was good, however most spectators didn't like him, so he had to go. Pretty sure I'm in the minority re kevin tho but each to their own
