Quite surprised bsb got 30,000 back in the early 00's but maybe more people have sky sports now
-
Out of interest does anyone know how many people watch speedway on sky sports per show for a league meeting (not talking play off)
-
Put it this way, its a team, the club are running, changes may happen, and its something to build on into 2018.... look towards the long term if possible in speedway

British Based Polish League Team?
CookieIpswich replied to Knightime's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
What if a group of promoters joined together to create a british lions team or similar and entered the polish league but home meetings took place at different tracks in the UK? -

This is why a Northern and Southern split with 6 rider teams built to a 38 point limit would have been perfect thats 120 riders which would have included all current EL riders even the GP ones if they wanted to stay up while promoting the top end of the national league, there were enough riders to make this happen with zero doubling up. Yeah guests would still be required but you could limit the number of appearances and only get guests from the opposite region so fans don't see the same riders recycled. Speedway have once again papered over the cracks

BSPA should have split 20 clubs into a North and South premiership if you will with a league sponsor, 13 heat format 6 rider teams. A two year plan for each club to have a junior team consisting of 4 riders teams racing the same night BEFORE the main meeting in a 6 heat format so 3 rides each with a 7 round individual championship split between North, East, South and West with the top 4 progressing to the grand final with lots of development/training days with ex and current riders. After this period the leagues expand to 16 teams each to get the NL teams in Add a league and ko cup British championship to be a 3/4 round series maybe sponsored by someone like Vanarama who put £50k in as an overall prize fund with a brand new Van to the champ maybe get in association with a van manufacture etc

The biggest issues and important steps needed to grow the sport have once again been papered over, I like the rebranding but a sh!t can still be called a poo, a turd or a skid but be the same thing!

Doubling up will kill speedway if someone rides both leagues how many meetings is that per week on average?

Kent Kings to the EL

Thats a great start to the day
-
Really?

Sometimes the fans are whats wrong about speedway....
-
Speedway need to develope a UFC fight pass deal for speedway fans, I'd restructure speedway meaning the sky deal is dead and open for renegotiation. You could for example have the play offs and league matches on sky, league matches streamed online selected meetings of course. BT sport, itv4 or even Dave may take other competitions if created by british speedway
-
38 point limit would be IDEAL if it was for 6 rider teams in a 13 heat format maximum ticket prices £12 with two regionalised leagues North and South
-
Not a team I want but a team I'd be disappointed with lol
