  1. I think all clubs should send season passes to all schools from primary to high school and anyone 17 and under get in free all season with a paying adult. I think in the ipswich and surrounding areas there must be absolute thousands and thousands Social media marketing highlighting the danger, the crashes etc for 18-30yr old males emphasisng on a "good night out for your mates" 30+ advertise it as a family event through local media, over 55's are already hooked
  2. Remember its just a branch of JCB not the head office sponsorship but still a good brand to associate with
  3. I said junior league racing shouldn't happen, I firmly believe it should be individual meetings/regional individual championships a North, East, South & West Should be about individual riders development at that stage not team structured.
  4. Junior league racing should be abolished altogether
  5. British Speedway could generate more income from losing Sky but the sport is run by old fogies who are not open to progression until the final nail is all but hammered in
  6. Speedway need both sets of supporters both tv viewers and attendees to prosper so no need to want to hang vice versa.
  7. They would be encouaged to join a regionalised league either north or south, at present it helps 88 riders over 12 teams but encouraging all clubs to run with four would be 112 riders two leagues of 14 clubs. Room for an additional 24 riders per season.
  8. I've said somewhere before that by 2019 all teams should have a 4 rider junior team who compete over a 6 race format at the start of every meeting then the main meeting ran over a 13 heat format, this way every team are investing in youth and fans can see development from within and if we do 6 rider teams the junior team riders can act as the old no.8 but no.7 in this case This would replace the national league within its current guise however with regional individual meetings for young riders in place to help and aid development.
  9. Can't find anything online but did this ever get off the ground?
  10. Doubling up in any team is a joke but get what you mean, out of interest how many clubs would you list aa having ok facilities thats grandstand, toilets, refreshments and pits area etc
  11. 6 rider teams are doable if you take everyone on a 7+ average up from the national league
  12. Isn't having 6 committed riders better than now? 1 or 2 exclusive to your team with the rest committed to anyone else?
  13. If you have two regional divisons of 12 then you have more than enough riders for 6 man squads there is really no excuse. Riders need to earn more but clubs need to earn more, thats why maybe standard engines to reduce cost, 13 heats so less cost to both rider and club Riders race more to earn more but with more races their costs are higher. 30 meetings a season would be enough, speedway is at the level of the national league in football, some teams or players are full time some are not
  14. Way before my time looka like I was born the year it closed
  15. Steve I'm 33 now lol We'll do some Ipswich meetings thrn Leicester and rye house
  16. He doesn't look any different, I'll bring him along with me and some stage
  17. There will be no massive bidding war as I believe the recent sky deal is alot different to that of the one before where monies switched hands. I thibk the previous involved paying for the rights with additional payments for live meetings, I think the latest deal was purely paid on tv matches only as sky gave up the title sponsorship. If the bspa are clever, they could break the competitions down and deal with different broadcasters for different products or even embrace new technology and allow exposure via sponsors Its not only sky or bt in the mix, itv4, eurosport, or another new crazy platform which would generate income IF you believe that 100,000 speedway fans subscribe just for speedway....
  18. Until buster sorts out no double uppers then the sport will not be taken seriously and its at the level now where riders should not be professional and should get income from elsewhere.well some will be pro still but you get what I mean we live in a world of status Would be better if teams owned the bikes, paid the costs etc and riders just turned up to race then what they earn prize money wise would be enough over a 30 meeting season But sponsorship and gate receipts would have.to increase to allow teams to do this
  19. If I ran a speedway club Each team would be introduced and they do one lap as an introduction to the crowd followed by a couple minutes warm up then chequered flag is out. As they are presented local kids line the inside of the centre green all round the track waving club flags. As soon as heat 1 is two laps in the heat 2 bikes must line up ready to roll out after last bike from previous race pulls off track. Interval entertainment, dancers with up to date music, I'd have two old riders per home meeting attend and complete 4 laps each and do a top gear style leader board, this allows old and new fans to appreciate previous legends. Maybe followee by a competition to win signed rider club goodies and free entry tickets to the next meeting. Roll the boys out again after the interval and have your evening dusted within an hour Of course unless injuries or stoppages are severe Over an hour is a piss take
  20. 7000 is fine for free if you get food and beverage takings but which club does?
  21. So how about meetings start earlier All teams have junior teams which will replace the national league, all 4 rider teams. They race over a 6 heat format before the meeting so 3 rides each then the main sides meet over 13 heats but 6 riders teams. The top junior team rider acts as the substitute rider for any injuries or exclusions during the regular meeting.
  22. I guess dwindling attendances mean theres no atmosphere really anyway plus you don't get the commentary
  23. I'm clever enough but buster won't call me -
  24. Regionalised leagues 6 riders teams 13 heat format Every team to have a 4 riders junior team Less riders to pay, less heats, more local derbies so in hope, the best possible crowd figures North - 12 teams South - 12 teams 11 home fixtures league 11 away fixtures league Regional league cup 4 groups of 3 Minimun of 2 home 2 away fixture more if teams progress British Cup where all teams enter potential for more meetings Make the bikes more basic and standard in terms of tuning etc Should then be ok to make it a £12 sport kids free At least 30 meetings for riders to earn across 3 competitions
  25. I'll bring him along really want to see Lebedevs personally
