Time to put brits first? Look at how many 2-3 pointers there are next season? Hopefully all will progress in 2-3 years by becoming 4-6 point men maybe the odd one progressing into more... Then next season half dozen more 2-3 pointers will emerge and within 5-10 years we'll have lots of british riders maybe not world beaters but sustaining british speedway Bspa tho needs to have fans in this time otherwise there is no sport And, it needs to develope uk talent, why it does not have say 16 bikes with 4 spares, all maintained by a chosen company and they use these machines for national individual championships for under 19's And hosting numerous experience/talent days where kids from anywhere including grass track, motox, road racing etc can "have a go" and are encouraged to We could unearth a bucket load of riders and compared to other domestix motorsport in speedway you get points money and travel.. there are around 150 kids that race 125 road bikes in the uk..... no prize money and all it is is cost cost cost Maybe these kids could be really good on a speedway bike, its one thing watching rossi and wanting to be like him none ever will bar one lucky rider every so many years.

British speedway should reinvent itself on being a feeder to clubs in Poland, and maybe to an extent Sweden. There are lots of young polish riders and from other nations who need experience, let Poland have them when ready but why are UK clubs not getting young exciting poles who maybe won't hold down a regular team spot on loan to race over here etc

Anyone not discussing what this thread is about should hang themselves in shame, maybe the bspa aren't the problem with the sports, its selected fans
-
Maybe King and Fricke will job share
-
Track covers would be nice across the board, another thing that should have been a higher priority over rebranding
-
Think its more to do with the BSPA not making the most of the Sky sports opportunity and not progressing the sport
-
I find it fascinating that modern technology is talked so freely on a speedway forum
-
One thing for sure, at least bt might be making a note on bt related sign ups
-
Rain Offs wouldn't be so much of an issue if the BSPA prioritised other aspects of the sport first THEN rebranding
-
Reliant Robin I get what you mean mate but if the BSPA won't cooperate initially how are these companies going to get them a sponsor? They won't have any demographics, no viewing or attendance figures, no price structure for what the bspa actually want for it, no confirmed list of what a sponsor will get. Can't see a business suddenly asking to sponsor the premiership out of the blue with no factual information to go by or an agency going to a client saying, I have this great opportunity to sponsor british speedway.... Client says how much and what do we get Agency "we don't know"
-
Yes but of course anyone from within the "circle" can bring anything to the table so the pie is shared with the chum brigade. I know for a fact that the bspa have absolutely zero interest in working with other outside parties which is there prerogative but gospeed do not do their part justice as highlighted by other posters. Bspa needs new blood, it has some good members but are their voices and ideas heard?
-
Woz01 My mistake then on that one Reliant Robin Go Speed International holds the sponsorship rights to all of the Domestic British speedway leagues and competitions. We can offer anything from title sponsorships for all three British Leagues, the Elite, Premier, National, the Knock Out Cup competitions, through to web advertising, banner placements, fan interactions and much more. An example is the title sponsorship of the Elite League which could include: Logo on every riders racesuits Coverage on all Sky Sports events Branding and coverage worldwide through the leagues television coverage Branding on the Speedway Great Britain and all clubs websites Banner placements at all events Programme advertising at every Elite League meeting Fan engagement and interaction opportunities and lots more

There was definitely a tweet saying "wrong" when said coverage doesn't start til june
-
Gospeed have the exclusive rights to market british speedway so they have failed the sport immensely as you say no sponsors of british speedway which they control. Buster talks on the live q&a about using other agencies but I'm starting to think that perhaps its a smoke screen and certain stuff is said just to keep fans happy. On another note I saw a tweet saying bt first meeting is the british final and speedwaygb said thats wrong
-
Reduce the costs for the riders, introduce a wage or points cap, then cap ticket prices across the leagues or one big league
-
I'm speculating on my last post I would imagine the total amount of league meetings would be very few once you add some of those meetings in. As someone else touched on May be showing the bigger meetings such as the play offs may reflect better on tv to others watching even tho it can be achieved without in reality Mick - looks like very few meetings will be shown live so the odd meeting broadcast won't bankrupt a promotion, flip side is they can use it to their benefit but thats far too sensible for some
-
Just to add another note 18 meetings 1 x british final 4 x play off semis 2 x play off finals 2 x promotion/ relegation play off Leaves 9 league meetings but maybe the cup finals and riders championships will be televised? So maybe no league meetings at all, would this work well for speedway having the "major events" broadcast only?
-
Anyone who is involved in sports sponsorship would propose all the benefits its just the way things are done, I agree it would not affect maybe local companies as such but title sponsorship etc even jf local would cause a threat. Swindon have done things differently this year with the ballot but lets say buildbase at Coventry even if local would want the tv exposure Its all swings and roundabouts but as I always say bspa have got things the wrong way round and they can't go back and put things right so roll on 12 months time when the sport has had zero progression
-
Read the press release it says bspa will work with those clubs to make it work when they have a live meeting. Calculate the cost of losing a few hundred fans when its on Tv to losing 2-3 sponsors because your proposal for sponsorship is fraudulent stating tv coverage when there is none (if bt hadnt stepped in). Again either way you look its an issue and again the bspa have not fixed what is important first and foremost

With regards to no fans, CWFC held an event live from bt sport studios with limited spectators compared to normal at event levels which is anything from 3,000 to 10,000 people. BT made the studio event work, it received rave reviews and it will be held again, a great product can be made to look good via many aspects without having the crowd there. MikeBV I get what you mean and I agree with it all, but its not a fresh start for speedway at all, its the same dross behind the sport they have not solved the fundamental issues that make british speedway fail, its like they are clutching at straws
-
The top flight clubs and riders will go to sponsors and sell saying "live on sky" which adds value through association no sky or no BT and all sponsorship contracts become void unless of course the sponsor is a die hard speedway fan who just wants to support the club. Maybe clubs would not fold but would struggle without having a selling platform, again, this works for british superbike....
-
Also those who was SGP might watch the PL speedway so you get a cross over audience
-
There HAS to be t.v. coverage or clubs would fold, its sold to sponsors as being on sky so something else had to take over, its a start but again BSPA have done things the wrong way On another note anyone got a direct email for buster
-
Saving for Sky Sports
-
But if the contract was only for televised meetings and there are no fixtures or live meetings agreed there would be nothing to pay up
