There are not enough riders for one league I'm afraid even if the top boys are lost, speedway will die under the current management structure. Too much self interest for the here and now not the sport going forward. There should be one professional league only of about 8-10 clubs max The rest dropping into an expanded national league with the aim of developing more riders over a 5 year plan, once more riders are available the professional league can then grow until we can sustain a 14-16 team league Lack of riders means the sport needs more opportunity at the lowest level so more teams at that level creates more opportunity I struggle to see how the bspa can't see it, with 8-10 teams you could even have a squad system and attract the bigger names to do 10-12 meetings in the UK per season -

I'll even admit that I enjoyed it, kyle was man of the meeting closely followed by the cockchaefer who kept Gary Glitter honest in the front row -

Should just be £10 who wants a penny change bit of a joke that one surely. -
To be honest what can any fan expect BT Sport picked this up very late and are not doing many meetings. Also the costs to film are quite expensive, so commercially its not worth it. If the top league in british speedway resembles an old ageing skip, then why bother with the second tier even if teams are more equal, racing is more fair etc This sport is not football, the interest is near zero And really its pretty said to even type that out

Newcastle, workington or Peterborough could catch, the season is 36 matches long still a long way to go.... going unbeaten may not be enough at home. All comes down to away performances. I can't see the witches finishing in the top 3 -

New Averages For 42 Point Limit
CookieIpswich replied to DunRobin's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Next season should be more simple All riders given a starting average, this average remains fixed until end of May and rider transfers are done so based on starting average I.e if Briger starts on a 7 average no matter if it goes up to 9 or drops to 5 all changed are based on his starting average. End of June all riders are given averages based on how many meetings they've competed from start of season til end of June (rider must have competed in at least 8 meetings to have new average or it stays at starting average). Transfer window opens July 1st til end of July and thats speedway team changes done and averages stay fixed at July 1st averages until the end of the season. At the end of the season riders given new average based on July 1st attained average and end of season average This way at the start of the season riders can't manipulate averages, and end of season riders can't down tools either -

Don't really want to give ipswich any more money based upon the entertainment provided, I could scratch a fart with a £20 note and provide better entertainment... However slightly tempted to give it a go coz of Cook as I'm saving by not doing the World Cup hmmmmmm I may also have to invest in a spoon -
As someone said not everyone will agree a way forward, everyone has an opinion they are entitled to. I can't comment on cricket as I don't follow it but am I right in saying their seasons are somewhat broken down into different competition such as one day, test matches etc I spoke to buster about my ideas above, took two months to get through to him and only got through cos I said I wanted to sponsor the league lol then had a chat about streaming and costs, what I achieved in promoting another sport plus who ny old man was P.s. no meeting ever happened ha
