  1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssOAXMcDz_Q 1:40 - 'here comes Mr G' - epic
  2. Like JasonFalcons said, SWC 2019 will be in Gorzow - http://www.speedwaygp.com/news/article/4495/, so definitely not Denmark in 2019 and most likely not Poland in 2018 since we never had any country hosting SWC two years in a row
  3. I think it's more likely to have Poland organising it in 2017 AND 2019 rather than not organising it 4 years in a row, so my guess would be Poland 2017 (possibly Wroclaw), Sweden or Denmark 2018 and Poland 2019 (Gorzow)
  4. Host countries since 2001: Poland UK Denmark UK Poland Denmark Poland Denmark Poland Denmark Poland Sweden Czech Rep Poland Denmark UK Looks to me like it's our turn since the last two were in Denmark and the UK. Seems like this is the pattern lately: Poland, xx, xx, Poland, xx, xx
  5. If he continues on the same trajectory he might be in the GP in 6 years but it won't make him one of the top riders in the world, same as it doesn't make Harris one of the top riders in the world
  6. Hopefully we'll have a chance to see Lambert in Poland next year so we can compare his results to Fricke's when he was 19 and rode in Nice League. And once again, I don't really care about neither Fricke nor Rybnik, I'm just pleasantly surprised with his form in Poland. It's the worst U21 Championship in years, though
  7. Lambert proved on Saturday that he's not in the same league as Fricke, it's a pity that young Aussie got injured on Friday cause I'd really like to see him against against all top riders. Although he's been proving week in week out in the Polish league that he's capable of beating most of them. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Frickeophile, I just don't get the hype for Lambart, I know he's only 18 blah blah blah but have a look at some other riders and their results when they were 18. Lambert might be good for recent British standards (no disrespect, but we all know that your speedway is far from where it was 20-30 years ago), but at the moment he's just another speedway rider who will probably clinch his place in the Team GB for years, win a few British titles and end up being a Chris Harris/Andy Smith of international speedway, so essentially that English guy who somehow always ends up in the Grand Prix series although no one really wants him there. Anyway, hi everyone, I'm glad I found this forum randomly a week ago, I quickly noticed there are plenty of knowledgeable lads here, so I'm hoping I'll have some good discussions with you
  8. 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th? In my opinion Zmarzlik was far better on Saturday than both Lindgren and Doyle, so I'd put him 2nd just after Tai. As for Doyle's exclusion, I don't think it was a good decision. Pawlicki went down far too easily and seconds after he was hit by Doyle. I don't think it would have changed the outcome of the meeting for Poland, though. We finished first 7 points clear.
  9. Fricke and Lambert in the same league? I respectfully disagree, unless by 'league' you mean the Elite League and not referring to their class
  10. And the Polish team: Krystian Pieszczek Bartosz Zmarzlik © Paweł Przedpełski Bartosz Smektała Daniel Kaczmarek
  11. My experience is similar to Pawel's. I grew up in Poland in the early 90s. I had a chance to watch and admire Hans Nielsen for 4 years (1990-1993) when he raced for Motor Lublin. Speedway was everything back then and all my friends grew up watching it. After school we raced together on our bicycles and all of us dreamt to be the next Nielsen, Adams or Kępa. Good times Back then it was much harder to follow the best speedway league in the world as all the TV commentators would call it, but I was very lucky to have ScreenSport on my cable. Was it the best TV channel in the history of TV or what? I loved it. I taped every single speedway meeting they showed. My basement is full of VHS cassettes with meetings like British Finals, some random tournaments from Wolverhampton or 1992 Team World Cup qualifying round from Norway (Tomasz Gollob show )
  12. Piotr Pawlicki not happy with replacing Magic with KK Translation: KK? What are you talking about, no one will be as good captain and colleague as Magic. By the way do we want a gold medal or rivalry within the team? I'm telling you we will miss #71 cause with him we were a great team
  13. Elite League very often lacks quality while in the Polish league you truly have the top riders in the world, I think it's easier to get excited watching battles between the likes of Emil and Tai week in and week out then e.g. Richard Lawson and Justin Sedgmen (maybe not the best example considering he rode in the last few meetings for Falubaz). Apart from that the tracks are longer or much longer (that doesn't apply to Belle Vue), so you don't have those ridiculous safety-pin corners like and because of that, it's indeed much faster. Stadiums and good crowds are definitely a plus, but that applies to every sport. And, of course, there's the pressure. Riders might not like it, but there's loads of pressure in Poland. Not only because of the crazy money that riders earn, but also because of the crazy fans. In EL you can get away with 3 or 4 bad meeting in a row, in Poland you're out, no matter if your name is Pedersen, Kildemand or Sedgmen. What's Nicki's contract in Poland? ~£1,5k per point I believe? One meeting lost = ~£15k lost, that's not peanuts...
  14. yeah 2007 in Leszno when Walased suddenly 'passed out' instead of silly ideas like u21 reserve who can only replaced an injured rider, just allow a regular reserve who can replace anyone at any given time, would definitely make things more interesting
