KK has done well when he hasn't had to ride at number one - it must be a mind thing for him. Poole's problem was that he didn't move out of the number one spot.

2 miles away from the track - the rain here didn't start until 8.30 - would we have got 10 heats in by then? probably not so on balance a good call. -
I suspect they will save the meetings up until after the league programme has finished

Any idea of the date?

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17
SteveZodiac replied to LisaColette's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The most entertaining action was the gardening at the tapes What is more amusing is the fact that KK appeared to be wearing his Poole Kevlars underneath his Rye House Shirt -
Didn't you keep Newman but get rid of him because he wasn't scoring?

Poole Vs Rye House Thurs 10/8/17

I wouldn't count on it as Wolves usually contrive to lose matches they should win - R/R for Masters is very weak. What will be interesting though will be to see how many of the Poole faithful turn up after tonight's drubbing. -
With Wolves having dropped a point in heat 12 a 3 all in heat 14 would have made the scores 44-39 - meaning the win was secured providing a Somerset rider finished heat 15. I think most team managers would have been saying make sure of the 3 all.
-
Why is that? The first part of the match had some close, fast racing but not much passing which was unusual for Somerset as it usually produces good racing. Many of the Somerset fans stood by me were in agreement with this assessment. After the grading in the interval we had what was lining up to be a good race between Rory and Charles Wright in heat 12, Josh blasted around Freddie in heat 13, Allen and Hougaard passed Greaves in heat 14, and then heat 15 was a classic.
-
Bad team management - especially now that it seems he has broken bones in his wrist.
-
Also struggling to cover for Sam with R/R in having to give one of the reserves a ride.
-
Have to disagree - the exclusion of Rory was the correct decision.

Your report was good and pretty much accurate as I saw things. However, I have to comment on your point about Perks being in the mix. In his first two rides he completed only 4 laps, having engine failures whilst way at the back in both races. He was better in his third, but in his fourth ride he fell whilst under pressure from Kerr and despite looking up to see Rory in front decided to stay down trying to seek Kerr's exclusion which was never going to happen. That ultimately cost us dear as in the re run Rory had his clash with Wright which led to the 5 - 0. Also your report makes no mention of the first running of heat 12 where Wolves gated on a 5 - 1 which they held into the first bend only for the referee to stop the race and order a re run for Kerr moving at the tapes, despite him having missed the gate completely. Once again a very entertaining meeting but the track only really livened up after the track grading during the interval.

That was what I thought too - as did many of the Wolves fans stood near me. The Poole fans stood behind us couldn't believe the selection either. Very Strange. -

I doubt if they will have learned anything. Judging by their previous contributions on social they seem to think that British speedway should revolve around them. -

Have they changed the rules for R/R? surely R/R for Masters would be Thorsell, Schlein, Howarth and one of the reserves? -
I'm amazed Eddie Kennett hasn't already been signed up by Poole. Can't see Milik coming over though.

Made a miraculous recovery to ride on Wednesday though -
I would have thought Ashley Morris would have been a better option than Perks. Have I missed something on here referring to why he wasn't considered?

Seems a very strange decision to sell Musielak given the form he has shown since he returned for Swindon.

Prior to heat 13 Lindgren was clearly instructing a member of the track staff to do something with the track which resulted in a lengthy spell of track grading. -

If that is true it is disastrous and shows a lack of real ambition by the promotion. We should have enough in hand to make the play offs but this would kiss goodbye to any chance of finishing top. -

Well done to Poole - they took advantage of Wolves misfortune losing Howarth - hope he is ok and recovers fully soon. However, having said that this is a very bad defeat to this Poole side, especially after being 10 points up. Lindgren doesn't look fit - he was awful in Heat 15 shutting off half way down the back straight on each lap. The defeat also shows that we simply have to find another number 6 to replace Riss - both Perks and Clegg have shown they are not the answer and a signing is needed immediately. I'm not sure the switch of Thorsell and Masters betweeen 4 and 5 is good either - it was very useful having Jacob in Heat 14 and at home he is more reliable there than Masters.
