  1. See you like squash....I'll take you on,,,,,as long as I drive the steamroller.
  2. Lets see it in the Newcastle programme please.......... btw....hope George enjoyed his Cheeseburger on Friday. Don't forget earlier in this season Laura's bit in Speedway Star re Comets riders dosh....and the lads have done so well since....so keep it going guys..it's great. GMM ...do you get some form of strange satisfaction by adding your 'behind the scenes' negativity ???
  3. Obviously the overseas/foreign Town players are 'resident' for the season......Town have finished a very creditable fourth in their division...therefore making the upcoming play-offs, sounds familiar eh ???..Town crowds have averaged 700 plus this season.
  4. Eh ? ....I'm also not hoping we don't run next year too...just like you thanks pal !! But as for Newcastle.....ha ha.
  5. No speedway for you now so resorting to other avenues of fun......very sad sh&t stirrer indeed....
  6. Maybe tsunami can copy the relevant programme page onto here to confirm his comments about a Workington official ???
  7. Yeah got the style, gating better each week...it will all be fine soon as you say.
  8. Well they only scraped into it this season after a worrying winter.....are they so much better off now ?
  9. Yep last night much better than a woeful Newcastle effort...depleted team or not it wasn't worth my £13 (old git fee).....didn't cash in on my £3 deduction either last night (yep silly old git). Think the geordies on here are stirring it big style.....can't see them running next season......
  10. Are you not getting Ty confused with the antics of another Aussie at Swindon..?
  11. "programme notes last week"......so that was versus the Comets then...don't believe you mate........
  12. It was Friday................no reason given at meeting..
  13. I have complete empathy with you on that.
  14. Must admit it did look a bit of strange pull up in his first ride.........rode ok after that tho......maybe the Comets captain sorted it/him.... lol
  15. The announcer told us at the start that Mason Campton was the team captain for the night.
  16. You could always buy a newspaper....Whitehaven News is just out weekly too lol.
  17. Yep..apparently the smallest pitch in the British RL pro(semi-pro) game...? But then it must be up to the requirements as required by the RFL law ?....great speedway track too......really pity to see it all go.
  18. He was referring to the NSS centre green I'm sure......Derwent Park has a full size rugby pitch in regular use by Workington Town RLFC
  19. I have talked to fans, club officials and yes it is serious regarding the new stadium at Workington for sure...and it will be a most welcome facility. What upsets me is that the plans don't seem to be considering the future of the Comets....ok gates are not healthy, but it is a sport that does traditionally ebb and flow attendance wise...and clearly, thankfully, I'm not alone in caring if Comets disappear because of lack of stadia.... Thanks for the info re Council...all the way from Sheffield..amazing........................................up the Town...come on the Comets!!!!!!
  20. Thanks for that fellow 'Townie'.....still wish Speedway could be continued in Workington somehow.
  21. Oh do believe me Town HAVE been lower than they are now...I've sat in the stand with another 249 folk around the ground.....but a nice 12,000 capacity stadium might bring such as Rod Stewart to Workington..hey that would be nice. Totally Honest John......my first home was at St. Bees....not saying where now ha, ha, nowt wrong with Muncaster Castle tho.....but honestly I WILL miss Derwent Park, remember oh so well being among a crowd of 17,741 there.
  22. Well the guys at the Rugby match said they weren't winding me up regarding Derwent Parks closure and eventual disappearance.....it's like losing my second home if it happens.
