Suppose so...I also used to think back in the 1970's Sunday afternoons were popular.....nowadays we can't operate on an afternoon on the sabbath which is puzzling.

Yep the crowds are diminishing.. like snow off a dyke...but as long as I can go to DP and see Comets I'm more than happy.

Yeah track was a bit tight.......to accomodate soccer pitch.......think about 3k there.....McFarlane wouldn't pay rent I believe.

Maybe wrong...but I thought their was a decent crowd at Paisley that night....pity it didn't last long.........also went to Coatbridge and the crowd seemed nowhere near as good.

Yeah all 7 nights for me if poss....................but thought the back end of season crowds for Peterborough and Diamonds/Redcar doubleheader were good turnouts.....maybe need to go to specsavers.

Just think Friday is when most would look to attend at DP....Saturday's see folk do other recreational things in Summer.

So that was 10 years ago.....obviously without any success............not giving much confidence for the immediate future is it? It's just sad to see clubs disappear, and hopefully someone can eventually find land to run speedway within the London area........hope they are still trying.??

Derwent Park has only been filled once since opening in 1956.......1965 for a Wigan cup tie ...17,741. So filling on a regular basis not gonna happen........yes I agree temp seats might just work for a triple sports solution....but who are we to say? I see Town are right now asking for volunteers to help clean up/paint/etc at Derwent Park.......maybe, hopefully, the new stadium will be further away on the horizon than first mooted?
