  1. So now we face Lakeside on Saturday (a), Sunday(h) and Monday(h) all provisionally as yet. What really worries me is regarding the Comets hopefully not falling at the last hurdles so to speak. I mean Lakeside riders bemoan lack of home track advantage, but surely after having half a match last Sunday, then another on Wednesday, and then Saturday - they will be, to coin a phrase, 'dialled in'? Which for the Saturday night will be hard graft for the Comets I think? Not aware what is happening with Ty...prob out injured...but oh dear it does make booking a GOOD guest so very important for Saturday...a Rye House specialist please.
  2. Trail up ?.........if they were wanted in Poland/Sweden/Denmark et al they would be there pronto...
  3. Bound to be a better rail service on a Wednesday...Sunday always has a reduced service..
  4. But you may have hit on something which could prove useful.........there again?? THJ you there??
  5. Oooops ...yes of course.....though they do often salvage some action via use of covers....hey now there's a thought ?????
  6. Would that maybe work though......I remember coming home from work at 10.30 pm and being often overtook by two wheel flyers...lights n all blazing..
  7. Someone on here said they were sitting surrounded by rubbish still left from Fridays meeting v Comets...surely some volunteers could help with such mundane work ?
  8. It would clearly help Lakeside if they ( Boro) did accept defeat as 'ammers only have use of Rye House this coming weekend....if a replay is ordered where does that leave Comets room to stage the washed out Shield double header and Play off final home and away.... it's still going be an headache whatever the SCB decide...?... Cue Totally honest John...help.... BTW.........is there another sport that has you weather watching, and panicking at cloud formation, as much as Speedway does ?
  9. By recent reports crowds at Rye for Hammers meetings not so good.......hopefully, and quickly, some land will be found to help them back to homeland....sure no one wants another club to perish?
  10. Not a good way of selling the product is it? Nowt to do with me...but... what was wrong with say a 2 pm start?...no lights required.
  11. Hmmmm......ok then.....I'll just check the SS re wording... ta anyhow... as above....ta
  12. think I saw you coming thru entrance last night......weighing up catering van....great effort, come again.
  13. Correct me if I'm wrong...ha,ha,......but didn't the Boro promoter say the home meeting at the EoS, versus Lakeside, would be the last meeting there this season???
  14. The guest system is a big letdown for the sport...........and it gets even lower when they are not a success,,,
  15. Paradise by the dashboard light ???? Maybe more appropriate for Rye stadium tho.....
  16. 5 rides is truly shocking...but how does a manager motivate a guest who isn't good enough......I actually got the heebie jeebies when I saw it was gonna be Starke...just hopeless and isn't a Ty...........think you have hit the nail on it's head re Glasgow gregory peck........and I can't see us doing so well again v Lakeside away......my glass is half full tho...ha.
  17. Hope you enjoy the trip, come on the Comets.........it's so sunny now here in marra land..24 hours too late.
  18. Haven't been a regular reader of JCF......so NeP you think he is winding you up re Panthers fans on train? But it reminds me of the halcyon days of 1970's........'er indoors and I were camping many miles from Cumbria...south coast.it was....and we decided to call in at Eastbourne speedway, they were taking on Peterborough on a sunny Sunday....pre match Dave Lanning was doing his routine on the mike...and I still recall to this day him asking the small bunch of Panthers fans -where are the rest of you?..adding that it was only two years past, so 1970, that 40 coach loads had travelled to Eastbourne...wow 40 coach loads of Panthers = about 2,000...now that was a good travelling support if ever was. One thing that is still with me is that both clubs had the same promoter...or has time affected that fact?
  19. Went to Exeter to see Stoney and co. get hammered.....had not bad KFC bucket after it tho......actually wish it had rained prior to meeting lol.
