Last time in this debate as clearly if have an opinion get scolded… planning issue or not it’s an expensive solution but can be addressed if you have the lamp posts with a 90d return at the top with a further pole nd bracket they can be more directed to the angles required ie the track, also like Sheffield have fix permanent lights on the start line advertising structure above the gates power is there to the main refs building x2 per gate front and back would made a massive difference also…. Have a good weekend all..

Feel the reply was bit of a dig... There was never any hidden agenda with the question. Happy to help, Fair enough with the lighting if it is believed that the lighting is to a standard for spectator sport / motor sport then some people clearly have different levels of expectations to me. I work within construction industry and any sites i attend are better lit along with the quality of the toilets come to think of it..:)...

Happy new year all. Predictions for 2025…… Hopeful for play offs then anyones over 2 legs. Feel a big season for the reserves, poor start feel will be changes by June. Any upgrades happening at the stadium over this winter. Hopefully lighting can’t see great when dark nights god knows how the riders cope..;)

Who do we think will get the other reserve spot with Hagon... What about Kim Nielson would he fit.. or Sedgman.
-
No quality heat leader to support Frcike next year v all the comments around next years team then we will struggle when/if get to play offs...Fingers crossed for a big signing Wosniak...?

You can get castrol R scented candles in the net now days… early Xmas present maybe …lol

If we all review this forum so many people have commented about the track over the years inc myself, prob is to make wider needs big construction get rid of back straight stand or move the temp stands back. Who is going to pay for this work. A sport with an ever decreasing fan base someone with no worries about return. We all know why was so a£;t in the first place and arrogance gets you know always listen to your paying customer…?So we either accept sporadic good racing or simply don’t attend. Choice is ours…. Sadstate of affairs but reality.

Fricke Wozniak Douglas Lawson Becker Hagon ..........
-
Max is an out and out number one for any team in the uk and we would be. Poorer team without him. As much as I promote British Youth Joes out of his depth in the top league and Dan I would imagine stay at Ipswich. Always liked Wozniak and being out the GP need to make him an early offer. Could that be a straight swap for Douglas…. Why not just change Douglas and go again with Lewis at reserve with Hagon.

Ipswich vs Leicester play off Semi-final 9th Sept
Cross Roads replied to ShanoXtra's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Just watched back the coverage from last night as was there. Being a lions fan chuffed to bits we progress to the final. Agree there was some poor ref decisions and I congratulate the witches on a tough season considering the injury’s. Must say the Eurosport team need to rem x2 teams in the meeting maybe just me but little engagement with the lions all lpswich interviews and comments for majority of the time…. one final point please please please Leicester management get some lights on the starting gate above the advertising banner directly onto the gates unless on start line cannot see the riders. 8 lights 2 each gate… -
Big meetings this week for the lions. No more excuses all riders 1\7 must perform along with Thursday to get on track with pushing for the play offs. If not will have no choice but to make some difficult changes as a results business.Would imagine still plays on Dickson mind the Harris changes last season that stung us in the tail I’m going for a close meeting at Lynn and a win at home. Would also bring Mountain in for Cooke if it works.

Wow, pantomime season started early this year then... normally advertising tickets to De Montfort hall a little later in the year.....
-
Wow..Fricke is class quality in Poland against a far greater standard struggling a little at present agree but class is permanent form is temporary. Whilst season is short still think top 5 good as many other teams. Be careful what some wish for start changing team rem last Season became a wash out…

Whilst seems harsh this is the right decision for the rider and club in my opinion. The kid is struggling and confidence is huge for any sports person. Re group lower league and come back stronger. This is a results game and time is tight in this league. Believe 1- 5 when all fire is as good as any team and will come good. Comments on other groups around track. I’ve commented many times over years shape was wrong from day one. Drop temp stands make bends wider and racing improves how many times do you see a rider nearly hit air fence exiting bend 4…that said never going to happen so track prep will be only way forward to give some level of entertainment. Sound like a broken record yet again intro worst in league why can’t we have old days bikes at start line introduce riders then a few practice laps… costs nothing.. Any way see you at Oxford Monday…

LIONS v BIRMINGHAM 25/4/24
Cross Roads replied to justathought's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
We also need to accept track prep when weather forecasts are advising rain all afternoon pack it down and hope for the best or simply cancel the meeting early in the day. With the weather hopefully picking up as we get into May more shale on the track and watering I'm confident racing should improve. Whilst some tracks ie Belle Vue Scunthorpe etc have some great racing i go to poland and watch league racing some of these meetings are also processional. I'm no expert but could some of todays racing be down to lay downs and speed. Very little team riding in the sport now days once in the lead gone...was refreshing to see for the first time in a long time the Holders team riding in heat 15 a couple of weeks ago. Any way top of the league all good...lol -
Weather forecast tom rain from 5pm-10pm 50-75% chance…be looky if goes ahead.
-
To early for changes in my opinion, I'm confident the top 5 will come good and once click is a solid unit. Reserves I with others agree need to be holding there own especially at home. Think Kemp will turn it around Joe seems a little out his depth at this level no criticism just maybe a jump to far at present in his career. I would only make the 1 change but give it a few more meetings. as the city say KEEP THE FAITH Lions fans.

Leicester vs King’s Lynn - Thursday 21st March
Cross Roads replied to SamKM91's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
First meeting of the season yes not perfect racing but take into account the time of year and sporadic weather it will improve. Important to start with a win, Been following the lions for years at both sites we will have a good season with that team (if all stay injury free) I'm confident of that, great to see some wolves fans make the trip also. Only couple of moans I have is poor intro presentation again never changes.... get the riders to the start line like the old days introduce all and get a few practise laps for the fans to watch even better allow free practise 1 hour before start time as I see when in Poland whilst the team mangers are interviewed, present intro amateurish. Why cant we have some lights in the advertising banner over the start line to light up the start line...? this time of year real surprised not getting complaints from riders and refs as i for one struggle to see the full track on clear dark evenings...Moan over up the lions. -
Well done to Phil and the team. Whilst not perfect massive step in the right direction for the sport in this country long may it continue. All the best to all teams through out the season especially the Loins.

Leicester v Belle Vue Thursday 14th March
Cross Roads replied to Aries's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Meeting Postponed due to weather forecast.. -
Seems like Mr Lawson is at Leicester creating a mini track in the middle of the centre green great result for the youth development of the sport in a stadium that has great access, well done to all involved.Any chance can stay on a bit longer and do some further work on the main track…. Eye sight not what it used to be and some lights focused on the track and start line would be a massive bonus to me as well :)….

Leicester vs Belle Vue 19/4/23
Cross Roads replied to Lenny Lion's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Thought the racing was a little follow the leader last night, Stewart did comment needs more shale especially for the likes of bomber. Think we need to re evaluate the team in a few weeks when all had more meetings max will come good. Surprised how few stay behind at the end of meeting now when riders come out maybe as a week night people wish to shoot off, to be fair max was honest with his performance last night fingers crossed over the coming weeks. one moan from me why is the intro to riders so poor at Leicester quick lap of the track… why not line up on start line introduce all riders talk to both managers complete the coin toss and let all have a few laps after all we are there to be entertained and to some degree interact with the riders… costs nothing. keep the faith long season up the lions.
