Probably the same ones who voted to dilute the product further? Still, I imagine the rate that BT is offering isn't as high as it could be if we actually aimed to attract GP riders with our rules, not the opposite.
-
Why would BT want to take on the rights for a league which is looking to force GP riders away rather than attracting them? The sport is run like an absolute farce. The 9pt average rule for all GP riders (as revealed at the Wolves talk in last night) sums it up really, along with the stupid one rider over 8pt rule......I think we know which clubs we have to thank for that b

How can anybody be surprised that there's no TV deal when the smaller clubs have once again voted to weaken the product? Now more news on fixed averages for GP riders has emerged......it just gets more ridiculous.
-
The 9pt average for GP riders is absurd. Was this something that the smaller clubs also forced through in an attempt to force the rest of us down to their level? Interesting talk in by the sounds of it but a shame about Pawlicki's average being so ridiculous.

Good to hear - will be beneficial for his development.
-
Absolute amateurs running British Speedway, PPV live streaming would be easy to implement and wouldn't incur the subsiding of production costs like a TV meeting. A 5er a meeting could attract plenty of British viewers and those from abroad too.
-
Indeed - madness how the Premiership is consistently forced to pander to the Championship. If we spent more time promoting the top division of Speedway then maybe it would be in a better place.
-
Greaves on Twitter has just said that he could have something great to announce later. Hopefully he will be confirmed as our no7.
-
Perhaps these clubs shouldn't be in the top division of Speedway. Ironically, they are the 4 teams that tracked rubbish teams for most of last season, mainly consisting of Championship standard riders. Are they trying to bring the other clubs down to their level? I doubt that will entice more fans to turn up, or for BT Sport to take on the TV rights for a full season.
-
Even if Freddie doesn't want to ride in the UK next year, I still wouldn't take Jacob on that average as a no1 (which he would have to be with the new rules in place)
-
Which would be bad business sense when the product is getting worse. Another question is, will BT want to show a league that consistently and purposefully, dumbs down its product each year?
-
Exactly, the points limit isn't exactly high with a lot of flexibility to maneuver, teams should be able to use it how they wish.
-
The idiots at the top of the sport literally have no clue. As soon as they do something half decent ie race nights (although Denmark races on a Wednesday too), they come out with rubbish like this. I'll stick to watching some top talent on TV on a Tuesday night in Sweden I think (assuming it's on Premier Sports again), if I wanted to watch Championship standard racing then I might as well go elsewhere than Wolves, would be cheaper !
-
Only 1 rider allowed over 8pts is an hilariously bad move. Why would I pay £250 for a season ticket to watch Championship standard racing?
-
Moving Greaves up to no6/senior reserve risks what happened with Clegg this season.
-
Probably take half a year of adjustment, possibly even longer, to get used to the tighter and more technical British tracks. But as you say, it's good to see a GP rider actually choosing to come to the UK for a full season anyway.

Sgp Wildcards 2018
Perton Wolf replied to TheReturn's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Ideal opportunity to bring some new blood in. One of the young up and coming Aussies wouldn't have been a bad shout. But instead they pick Holder who was largely poor last season, especially in league speedway. And if you're going to pick a Dane, surely it has to be NKI over Pedersen? -
Great signing for Leicester, is Pawel returning too?

This Sums Up The State Of British Speedway For Me...
Perton Wolf replied to Gresham's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Publicly lambasting your customers is never good business sense. Which I think is ultimately British Speedway's weakness, there's no strategy to actually grow the sport. A CEO figure running the show might help things a bit....... -
Who Has Ended On A Bargain Average..?
Perton Wolf replied to ProudtobeaBrummie's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Yes I think so too. Said he wanted to be back at Wolves next season and has received excellent support with numerous donations from fans this year to help with his bikes etc so hopefully he will be back. -

What about points for a correct result? Correct scores sound hard to predict to me! -

Greaves on 2.54 is an absolute steal for next season, hopefully will be Wolves' no7. -

Relatively stable at Wolves I think (although it could be down a bit but I don't know) but on a larger point, the promotion of the sport in the UK is largely terrible with a few exceptions. The people at the top need to reach out to riders, fans and any other interested parties and come out with a definitive long term plan that can see the sport on the up again, utilising social media a lot more would be a good first step, most Premiership clubs aren't active on their Twitter feeds at all. There should be targeted paid ads in the run up to meetings and then video interviews with riders afterwards, along with a redesign of websites to make them more interactive and engaging. Basically, loads to do but the promotion in the UK seems stuck in a by gone age unfortunately. The potential for Speedway is big.........it's an exciting sport but it needs promoting as such.
