World Championship Pairs

There isn't anywhere really, that's the point. Agree that neither of those venues are suitable for an event like this. -

Manchester isn't an easy place to get to on a Tuesday night, surely a national stadium would've been better off being built in the middle of the country? To make it more accessible for all. Anyway, the bigger issue is probably that ticket prices apparently started at around £20 despite the meeting being on BT which I guess most speedway fans have anyway. -

A 3-3 vs Australia would basically have seen GB through, may have bottled it now. -
Matt Ford complains about Assets
Perton Wolf replied to DC2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Also encourages clubs to farm a large number of assets and then hold other clubs to ransom for them, even if they have no intent of picking them to ride for the club again. The whole system is really bizarre. -
Josh Auty better than Kyle Howarth?

Or one could argue that clubs would no longer have to pay a ''loan fee'' - thereby saving money. -

The ''asset'' system is farcical, bin it and bring the sport into the 21st century. -

Good win for Indianerna, thought a draw would've been a fair result. Didn't understand PK's decision to put Hans Anderson in Heat 14, looked slow all night. -

Plenty of dust expected then? I guess we will see but I'm looking forward to seeing this Dackarna side in action, thought they had a decent lineup last season and seem to have strengthened this time round. Having Przedpelski at Reserve is surely a big advantage. -

Fixed night farce-how much longer
Perton Wolf replied to mickthemuppet's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I'd be interested to know if people would be more likely to turn up if every team raced on the weekend. Other sports see a drop off when fixtures are in midweek, whether that be football or cricket. Not everybody wants to rush home from work to then be straight out of the door. Eventually British Speedway will have to make a choice, continue how things are (where the standard gets worse every year anyway) or completely change things up by racing on the weekend for example. Imagine if meetings were late evening on a Saturday night every week throughout the Summer, surely that would attract more people? Obviously you wouldn't have any GP riders but we don't really have many left anyway and it's a bit of an imbalance that a few teams have them while others don't. As for fixed race nights, they seem to be working OK as in it's cut down on the number of Guests. I don't think it was ever intended to help bring GP riders back as clubs don't seem to have the money nowadays (look at Wolves with Freddie for example). -
Might make more sense to replace Heeps before his average is lowered. Not sure he will score many at Reserve either based on his previous showings. Plus, it would be better to keep Morris at Reserve.

PK is Dackarna's new Manager I believe? May catch a glimpse of him tomorrow if we are lucky! -
Wolverhampton v Poole Prem B. 28/5/18

On the plus side, it's a decent away point for Poole in their fight to avoid the well sought after Wooden Spoon. -

Amazing how Poole didn't win that. Ultimate bottle job against an average Wolves side. Simply fantastic. -

I actually agree that Poole aren't fixing their averages (for once) or whatever. I just don't think this Wolves team are that good. I see Sundstrom went back into the pits and will now go off 15m.......bloody hell -

Rather have Greaves than Heeps round Monmore. This Wolves 7 is bang average, Heeps isn't the only one who needs replacing. -

Heeps couldn't beat a potato so I'm not sure what you mean. -

Heeps needs replacing before his average lowers. Nowhere near good enough. Jacob is a mediocre no1 too but most people could've told you that before the season started. Hopefully Masters will be the next no1 under the new averages but I'm guessing it could be Schlein instead. -
Belle Vue vs Wolves - Ko Cup - 7th May 18 12pm
Perton Wolf replied to Aces High's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Wolves have a good team for home meetings at Monmore but doubt they will win away all season without Freddie. 4pts for your no1 is never going to end well. But I guess that's where cost cutting gets you....... -
I don't see many riders in that 7 who will improve on their average, which should surely be the primary aim when building any team. Safe to say that the team won't pull up any trees but it shouldn't be awful either in a further watered down league. Should be strong enough at home to beat most teams. However, it will certainly struggle away and I can't see it picking up any consolation points at most tracks. The good thing is that the promotion at Wolves have made changes in the past 2 seasons so hopefully if things aren't going to plan, they will do so again. No Freddie is a huge loss. I assume the decision was financial because there really shouldn't have been a question to ask between him and Thorssell. I won't be purchasing a season ticket at the same price as the last 2 seasons (when we actually had a GP rider in our team after all) but will instead pick and choose meetings. The team isn't nearly enticing enough to go and watch every week, it's basically Championship standard racing plus Masters (who rode in the Champ last year anyway) & Thorssell. Last season was bad enough at times. Many of us want to see high level racing, not Championship standard. Hopefully the Swedish coverage will be back on Premier Sports next season because that's the only competitive high level team racing that most of us will get to see next year. Keeping prices the same across the board as the product gets weaker is just bad business sense but we've all come to expect nothing less from the useless BSPA. Is it no surprise that TV rights with BT can't be agreed when we have so few GP Riders over here nowadays? Unless a CEO type figure is appointed full time to promote, market and run the sport, then it will continue to get worse until the two leagues are combined.
-
Looks like a fairly weak team to me and will struggle to make the playoffs. Can't say I'm motivated to purchase a season ticket at the same price as last year when the team is weaker and there will be no GP talent on show.
-
The product gets worse but the price remains the same or even increases. I want to get a season ticket for next year (as I have the previous 2) but all of these new ridiculous dumbing down rules are really putting me off. The standard last year was just about acceptable but it's bound to get even worse.
