Adam's r/r scored 5+2 last time so he should have bettered that. Robins have great home form, cup and league, won every match apart from 2 45-45 draws with the Poirates. But with more away matches left really need to start picking up points on the road. Kings Lynn and Wolves improving. Only Swin and Lynn unbeaten at home, only Robins that have lost every away match, all 6.3 big away matches coming up for the Robins. Hopefully decent weather and good size crowd on Thursday.

Fricke home form is good, but pants away lately. Bjerre, Doyley, Batch top away riders.

Just read the Adver, financial losses again at The Abbey again this season. Terry saying apart from the Belle Vue match, there hasn't been that good a turnout. Hopefully better crowds in August and 2 finals will reduce the losses. Perhaps need one league and part-time riders to save the sport.

The German games seem cheaper, especially the standing areas. A Stuttgart fan said to me its about 10 quid a match with a season ticket.

Vissing missing? Adam Ellis unluckily injured.

I went to Millwall 3 Ipswich 0 in October
-
Average of 60 minutes of football ball-in-play. Paid 17 quid for a seat at Millwall, 18 quid to stand at Swindon's Abbey.

Hundreds of Wolves fans turned up for that one, couldnt have been more than 50 though for the last final in 2017. How speedway numbers have fallen in last 10 years.

One of the sponsors was saying to me that you get around 200-300 not paying. Don't know why they don't publish the crowds. -
He said he preferred West Ham as it was a bigger track. Was saying he earned £2.40 once riding at Glasgow, fell at first bend, first race, and took no further part in meeting! Was earning 40 quid a week in 1970, twice what his dad was!

Good weather, good crowd, good racing. Swindon top 5 very powerful, and reserves chipped in. -
Just been chatting to Barry Duke in m&s cafe at the Orbital. Ever present for the Robins in 1970. Doesn't go to the Abbey anymore even though he's got a free ticket. Great tales of riding with Briggo, Kilby, Broady, Keener, Hitch, Munday, Woolford..and against his idols Fundin and Mauger. Said Martin Ashby is ill..haven't seen him for a while at the Abbey.

Just had good chat with the ex Robin at local m&s cafe. Said Fundin was his hero, Briggo best he rode with, and Mauger best he rode against. Recalled a match in 1970 at Wembley, riding at 2 with Briggo, got two 5-1s against Eide, Harkins, Jessup, then Fundin split them. Doesn't go now, even though he's got free ticket..Friendly geezer. Unmistakeable ponytail. Had many run-ins with Briggo. Ever present for one season in 1970, riding with Briggo, Hitchy, Kilby, Munday, Keener, Broady, Woolford etc.,
