  1. The racing gets better. Great entertainment and VFM.
  2. Holder is a better rider away from home. Worrall is poor away so r/r is good option for the Poirates. Hoping for good close racing and big crowd, with the famous Abbey roar in heats 13 and 15. Doyle and Batch are on current form the top 2 in league. Rasser and Muesli very good at home. The only concern is Adam moving at the start, and number 7 is a problem.
  3. With Fricko out and Bjerre late not surprised Wolves won.
  4. Swindon are due a home win against Poole after two draws. Will go 48-42 for the Wiltshire side. Its 76 miles. Should be good weather and crowd for this west country humdinger.
  5. On current form would go Poole, Swindon, Wolves, Lynn.
  6. Well done Swindon, have gone to the top 3 recently and taken a point at Vue and Poole and 4 at Ippo. 10 heat wins, excellent from Batch and Doyley, just let down at reserve. Good entertaining meeting, credit to Poole as well.Roll on Thursday.
  7. Keith van Wolfswinkel 63 Swindon Have supported New Cross Wimbledon Workington and of course Swindon now. School bus driver, Lucy children's air ambulance volunteer. First match 1963 New Cross v Hackney. Best moment..Swindon beating Poole in 2012 Grand Final, ending 45 year drought! Worst moment..Peter Craven getting killed 1963, and Lee Richardson. Favourite riders..Bjorn Knutsson..Peter Craven..Barry Briggs...Jason Doyle..Clive Hitch..Jimmy Squibb..Simon Stead..Lee Richardson Most disliked..Ivan Mauger Enjoy football, playing drums, music, walking dogs,
  8. With the Robins ending their miserable 17 away league defeats in a row at Ipswich it's ironic that they have won at both the top 2 Poole and Ippo by 53-37 this season. Will go another 45-45 draw this evo.
  9. Should be a humdinger of a match between these west country rivals. Too close to call. Any pubs in windon showing it, normally the Steam Railway has a room for the speedway when footie is on.
  10. Embarrasing that a Poole reserve has most heat wins
  11. Great result lads, is that record away league win this year, eclipses the cup win at Poole!? Onwards and upwards Robins.
  12. Not even picked for heat 15, it's very poor.
  13. Swindon need to get a point..46-44 to Ippo.
  14. Should be close with 2 home draws, and a win and a loss at Poole this year. Swindon have weaker reserves. Will go 48-42. Swindon the only team to have lost all away league matches so far.
  15. I was about 6 years ago for a short while. A year of my life wasted!
  16. That's what I said to him last year orlovski.
  17. Poole have never beaten Swindon in a Grand final, although we beat them in 2012 final, and are their bogey team. Doyley and him top 2 at moment. I remember a young Batch easily beating Leigh at Swindon when riding for Poirates.
  18. My first meeting was also 1963, aged 7, New Cross v Ackney. Had a 30 year break, started going again up at Worky 2004, but still as keen as I was in the 60s. Go to most Swindon meetings, very good racing now theyve shortened the track. Excellent sport speedway.
  19. Both great riders, but if I wanted a result in heat 15 the craggy faced skip would step up to the plate.
  20. Not CMA average though, Doyley is top, according to Star. Doyle, Batch, Fricko, Bjerre.
  21. Dukey was saying to me last week about the run-ins Kilb and him had with Briggo.
  22. I was reading the Bobby Moore biography, said a speedway rider who rode for Swindon and New Zealand beat Geoff into third! Greaves and Moore my faves from then
  23. Perhaps he was like Martin Ashby, too nice. Briggo had crap equipment but was ard as nails. Just reading the Lee Kilby book, superb.
