Leicester vs Newcastle 26/06/21
Barrow Boy 2 replied to IainB's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Surely the main problem was Ty Proctor not scoring. One point would have been enough for Leicester to have got a losing bonus point. -
Who do Leicester ride in the next round of the K/O Cup?
-
Pardon the pun but I just don't see it. The lights are doing no good whatsoever. There are not enough of them and some of them are much too high to be of any use.
-
Well it's made no difference. It must be a nightmare for the riders and those near me in the stand were all complaining that they could not see well enough.
-
Just been reading about Jack Holder's reasons and desire to race for Sheffield and give Sweden a miss. He also said he was concerned that flying between countries might cause problems. If these should occur I would like to think that due to such current circumstances the powers that be would allow teams to use RR and not force them to bring in say a 6 point BCL rider.
-
Will any of the other UK Danes be affected? i.e Palm Toft, Hans Andersen, Jorgensen etc.?
-
There are only 4 dates reserved for BNL racing in Leicester's fixture list

14.11 ????? -
Josh Bates would be my pick. A fit JB would seem to be the better option and he certainly knows the quickest way around the track. He is after all the track record holder. Connor Mountain would also be fine although his starting average would be lower.

SD has announced that he has signed a rider to replace Ellis Perks but can't say who yet.
-
Any format would not work without crowds. My suggestion was obviously based on running with spectators. If and when normality returns then I would like to see one league be tried.
-
Should have been tried long ago. Would it hurt to give it a go for one season?
-
We already know we can run meetings with 6 riders per team when RR is employed.

Peterborough Panthers 2021
Barrow Boy 2 replied to Noodles's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
It is possible to find enough riders for just one Division but it would certainly be of a much lower standard. National League riders would have to be brought in and lesser known available Europeans would have to be sought. Another issue would be by restricting riders to be only allowed to have one source of income which could result in some not being willing to ride for less money. Even so I would like to see just the one league with perhaps more competitions being brought back to allow riders to replace some of their reduced earnings. -
It is a shame because I feel that he was heading for better things. Leicester will miss him because by vastly improving his average he was probably the main reason for Leicester's title winning achievement. I wish him well and hope that he returns to the fold when he feels it is right to do so.

It's official then. Ellis Perks has not agreed terms and has decided to take a year out.

I thought that if riders don't ride in the PEL they could ride elsewhere without any restrictions.
