  1. We should do better this time, hopefully Robert doesn't spit his dummy out and produces a performance he is capable of, and Lindgren, Rose and Morris can score well. Problem, as ever, will be returns from the reserves, but if Bears are missing Ayres that will weaken them and our 6&7 might just get their average of 2 points apiece! Sounds like it could be a Bears select side, which is disappointing, but sadly the norm in many matches nowadays! lets hope for good weather!
  2. Agreed, but I think he was talking generally not specifically about this meeting. I stated the same concern and reasoning about calling meetings before heat 11 on one of the many other threads regarding this meeting!! Who posted a very fast time! Having looked average in his first two rides!
  3. Interesting claim that Vatcher stated on Thursday match had to be rerun and no grounds for appeal! His U-turn either shows him to be totally inefficient and made big mistake with initial ruling OR he has been persuaded to change his mind? I have also heard a rumour that the trainee referee on Thursday travelled on Glasgow's supporters coach, I think this may be mischief making, but anyone confirm or deny the story?
  4. The one change I would make is that heat 11 should be cut-off, by the end of heat 11 all riders have had scheduled 3 rides each (with both no2s having 4 rides) makes it a reasonably even match. By not running heat 11 you are penalising away team by not allowing their best rider to take his 3rd ride and also by reducing the numbers of reserve races the home team has had to use..
  5. My post was as a spectator, the questions you ask suggest I have inside knowledge, which I don't! However - I would suggest the following responses (apologies where I don't know) what was the para medic's initial assessment of coty's injuries? Don't know - not released and probably subject to patient confidentiality was a second ambulance called because of his injuries? from reports I have read - yes was he taken to the hospital before the curfew time of 10pm? No ambulance arrived before I left at about 10.05pm, so no was he taken to hospital after 10pm and if so was he accompanied by the para medic? Again from reports he was taken to hospital, soon after 10pm, he would be accompanied by a para medic, but probably the one coming with second ambulance did he have to stay in hospital overnight? According to reports he was released on Friday morning, so yes will he be riding for Redcar this week? Don't know will he be riding for you for the rest of the season? seriously doubt he'll be riding for my team for the rest of the season, if you mean riding for Redcar, then unlikely as they have constantly said once Busch if fit he will come back into the team.
  6. Pretty ludicrous suggestion attempt at humour - failed dismally small minded and petty comments - you tell me!
  7. regardless of 14/28 days, it should come down to matches missed, ban should be for 4 completed matches, or 8 completed matches (ie 2 per 7 day period) Assuming 14 days is the ban length you have a ludicrous situation of a rider realising he has 1 meeting in the next 14 days at a track which he hates, so he "retires" team get facility to replace him he does U-turn and reappears after his bogey track is out of the way. Now - which team might pull a trick like that
  8. Have to say well done to the boys for the victory, I was very pessimistic about the meeting, especially with r/r in place, but to be fair Ashley produced the performance we needed with Ludvig missing. Also pleasing to see Ben pick up some points against "stronger" riders. Although claiming they are pleased with a point, I think Sheffield will be very disappointed with returns from several of their team, some of whom looked complete novices at times!
  9. Don't understand these "veiled threats" of refusing to ride until October - who is gaining anything from that? If this is the case, and I await to be convinced, then all it would achieve is to show Glasgow up to be small minded and very petty and they would gain no sympathy from anyone - other than any of their own supporters who are similarly small minded and petty and see it as a moral victory! Glasgow are the team with everything to gain by riding, imo Redcar won't be a threat to them winning league, or qualifying for playoffs, so I ask again what is the point? Ultimately if Redcar offer a number of dates (understand 15th June is first ) and Glasgow keep refusing MC will declare date for the match and both teams will have to put together best teams they can, if this means some Glasgow riders being absent, they will be losing money! As I say, I am just baffled by the suggestion and realistically think it is some supporters mischief making, I think Glasgow promotion are far too professional to get involved in silly games like this!
  10. Again weakness at reserve has potentially cost us points - unfortunately we are stuck with what we have now, but David wallinger looked ok last night at redcar, certainly one to consider if we need a guest or replacement (and Shanes not available) Well done to George for not finding an excuse outside of we weren't good enough and had too many falls!
  11. My take on last night's racing Firstly I thought the ref actually got the start decisions correct - Garrity appears to have a technique where he moves just at the moment tapes rise, some may say this is very good, others he is moving. However he rarely touches tapes - in heat 1 I couldn't see tapes in gate 4 so don't know if he touched them or not. Track seemed a bit heavy early on, obviously due to glorious weather we have in the North East and the watering to combat the dreaded dust. This did result in dirt line getting wider which probably contributed to later incidents. Glasgow top 4 superb and only troubled once when Worrall missed gate but Garcia (involved in everything!) having totally messed Worrall up fell and we missed seeing if Wright would have been caught. Bewley also showed his class and style and without doubt Tigers would have won at a canter, which is probably why their camp are so upset at meeting not being concluded. Must give praise to Redcar's (guest) reserves - they kept the Bears close and Wallinger actually looked quite accomplished ( George - take note!!) Onto the now infamous heat 10 - from my view and therefore in my opinion - Garcia firstly stopped Lawson's run out of first bend (did this annoy Lawson - only he knows) then entering the first bend on lap 2 Lawson came under Garcia, fairly but very hard, and rode out towards the fence, Garcia (being a racer) kept going with intention of riding outside, all got very close but there was space for Garcia until Lawson appeared to get a small amount of extra grip, causing riders to come together and catapult Garcia into circus acrobatics over the fence and Lawson also to fall heavily. One of the worst, and most spectacular crashes I have witnessed and vast majority would have expected Garcia to have some serious injuries! The whole crowd surprised and relieved to see both riders up and walking back to the pits. At this point ref made the incredible decision to exclude Garcia and announce that a rerun was to take place! Fence was totally devastated - no doubt pictures will be around to show the damage - this is where Dickson's gets it wrong, it didn't take 40 minutes to repair the air fence, as was clearly explained to the crowd the major damage was to the backing fence behind the air fence and everyone could clearly see track staff (and a Glasgow rider!) working on this fence. Initially we were told that three air panels were shredded and possibly a fourth one damaged - apparently tracks have to have three panels as spare so there were worries that not enough were available, it looked like plans were being made to take one from elsewhere, but riders objected to this and that was vetoed. Once backing fence fixed the new air panels were in place in about 5 minutes and I guess the fourth panels was found to be ok and usable. Track looked good and all seemed set. Glasgows riders all set - 2 mins on and announcement that 2 mins cancelled, paramedic with Garcia and therefore racing not allowed. I do not know about timings of when he fell ill and if as suggested it was just after fence fixed then you can see why some thought it "dodgy" However Redcar are not that desperate to get a rider to feign illness, be put on a drip and taken to hospital (and I expect spend night in there), if you look at it logically it just doesn't add up! Certainly Kevin Keay was visibly upset at any accusations of that ilk. As others have said rider's welfare comes first and paramedic would have been in all sorts of trouble if he had left Garcia to oversee heat ten and Garcia suddenly got a lot worse. I think this morning Mr Dickson will still be upset and disappointed, but hopefully have a more reasoned view. Finally have to say how impressed I was with the Redcar promotion, constantly keeping us informed and updated and apologising for delays. Even though I was stood for about an hour waiting for events to unfold I left not feeling annoyed or upset about the situation - just shows what a bit of respect for your crowd can do!! Best Wishes to Coty and also trust Richard is not feeling too battered!
  12. Apologies I was making the point that on the current (ridiculous) rulings - Redcar get the suitable replacement ie an NL guest - I totally agree with you and others this is not a guest who will score anywhere near what Perks is capable of and hinders, if not rules out, a Redcar win, but as my posting continues - that is what the powers that be have put in place and depending on which of your riders have ridden in certain matches decides if you are lucky or unlucky!!
  13. Redcar are getting a guest of suitable average, that isn't an issue. This whole scenario comes back to the biggest cock-up BSPA have made in years which is the issuing of one set of averages for both leagues and then the, virtually unworkable, new averages after 4H & 4A - this has resulted in some teams being given an unfair advantage to strengthen, and others penalised for having the foresight to sign improving riders! Situation only looks like getting worse once Premiership get their averages and the (as yet unknown) convertor kicks in causing a clamour to grab those who started season badly. Farcical!!!
  14. Have I missed something? I thought Adam Ellis was riding, not Branford?
  15. Don't think so but it does represent the "some" initially referred to.
  16. Time to put your fishing rod away - I reckon your keepnet is full!!
  17. If the question means are the Witches the team I support then no they are not. If you are asking if I have a dislike of Ipswich then that is also no! Just for the record
  18. I hold my hands up, I genuinely could only see a witches win, but forgot to factor in the Sedgmen "can't be arsed attitude" I also will admit to not ratings Comets at all at beginning of the season, I had them down for bottom two, but they keep on coming up with the goods - mainly I will say to Matt Williamson punching well above his weight! But again looks like my opinion was wrong - good luck for the season across in sunny Cumbria!
  19. Anyone remember this team from panthers last visit to Edinburgh Craig Cook Richard Hall (r/r) Ulrich Ostergaard (its ironic the one rider remaining isn't actually available for tonight's fixture!) Jye Etheridge Matthew Wethers Shelby Rutherford David Wallinger of course this was mainly as a result of all the toys leaving the pram with great force! Hopefully Monarchs fans will get better entertainment tonight
  20. If he got a reduction before season started, wouldn't he come in on that average, and not suddenly have it applied on a random date? Not expecting anyone to have too much of an understanding of the inner workings of the mystery which is greensheets averages, looks like a new issue is out which amends virtually the whole Redcar team from the one issued day before - think batteries much have been going flat in the old calculator!!!
  21. What retraction are you looking for? Based on the awful racing on my recent visits and mirrored by comments from numerous fans (including Sheffield fans) it was a very valid question. It sounds like you actually got some decent racing last night, lets hope it continues, Sheffield certainly was a superb track for entertainment, but recently - absolute garbage!
  22. Interesting piece in the Star from Swindon camp expecting BWD to be missing for a couple of weeks, and is quote "unlikely to ride in the Robins' Bank Holiday clash". Now he may have improved since article was penned, but if he is missing then it will have a big effect - Friday is ok because you get a guest, as he would be a reserve, but with lambert dropping down from Saturday it would be rr for both Glasgow and Worky, with only Starke and the reserves to take rides! Add in Ostergaard is already missing on Friday - seems problems are just piling up for the panthers management!
