That's because most other promoters don't make a total balls up of constantly switching team around and then have to justify the changes !!

Glasgow were also "done" by Bewley at redcar, but to be fair no one complained about that. It's part of the sport and he happens to be the hot guest at present. Be interesting to see his average for September and who is able to utilise him then! -

Redcar V Newcastle Pl Thursday 18th August 2016
Mad Max replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Well although pleased with the win this was not a performance that inspired any confidence - Rose excellent no doubt full of confidence knowing his reserve heat was against 3 others not in his league, but he scored vital points in all his rides, Lambert - ok and robbo good guest but Kus and Worrall both trying their best to throw the match away. Sorry but I don't buy into this "he was upset with Bjerre for a hard first bend" - what does he expect and he would have done the same!! he then left Robbo nowhere to go and then to go and get thrown out is ludicrous. Worrall two blatant jumps from the gate to get excluded and then another no brainer to wipe out Busch!! Madness! Pleased to see many Diamonds fans recognize out riders were at fault for the two incidents, same as many Redcar fans acknowledge Robbo deserved to be back in, some excellent racing Busch's chase & pass in heat 8 top quality and Robbo/Anderson's battle in heat 14 tremendous trust and respect in each other. Should have won this easy, any team allowing Phillips to score 2 points in heat two are totally reliant on top order doing the business and we have (supposedly) enough to stop this! One final point re Etheridge taking a lap of honour, imo an excellent move by Bears management, after his torrid first season his confidence must be totally shot, if this can give him some back and help to get him back towards potential everyone says he has then full marks to Bjerre for letting him win and those who sent him round. , -
I think the real irony is that it is not proving to be a benefit to anyone. Having said that he may well come good soon

Peterborough V Edinburgh 7/8/16 @5pm
Mad Max replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Why blame the team manager when there are others who want to tell him what to do?? -
That's very brave of you when Peterborough have a 7 point head start. With 8 matches left each, why don't you offer the witches fans a £1000 bet on who gets the most points from those 8 matches? Or are you chicken??
-
Had a visit to watch last night's match - Bears rode very well against possibly one of our two main opponents for honours and totally deserved win - imo hard done to by ref in majority of first bend incidents so could have won more easily. Big factor though was having young Bewley in for Payne - be interesting to see if payne is fit for sunday or who they may use?? (can guarantee it won't be rob Branford!!) We should have plenty to win fairly easily, especially if Simon Nielsen is as poor as last night. Is Lambert definitely riding, I know in the past he has taken his time to return from Team Cup matches, and I assume the 24 hour rule is still in place but then that was in the past for a different management

Redcar V Glasgow 28th July 7.30 Pm
Mad Max replied to pvm's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Without knowing any of the background to how events unfolded I would pose a simple question when booking rider to guest at #7 a) had confirmation been given by "powers that be" that this was acceptable and the rider eligible, or b ) had Glasgow just assumed he was eligible if a) then I agree totally with your comment, if b ) then I think you should be pointing your frustration in a different direction (although I would say it could come back to rule(s) not being very clear!) -

Oh Dear.................................. Oh Dear................................. OH DEAR .................................... -
I don't have any problems with the changes made, and yes they are within rules and approved. I, like the majority of fans fully agree with what your promotion have done to strengthen their team. The issue I take is all those who say one month we should be allowed to make these changes because it is benefiting British speedway and then straight away (after getting their own way) drop the British rider for a foreigner ( which as I just said was the logical thing to do) As to yourself stating Arson Fire has his facts wrong and "holub did not replace Stokes" then if not deluded what??
-
I fully comprehended your previous posts, but can you confirm who Stokes was brought in as a temporary replacement for? No matter how short you want to make it Holub cannot have replaced either Palm-Toft or Porsing in your declared team as they were both ousted on 15th May and he was a declared Scunny rider until the 20th! The facts, put very simply to aid your comprehension, are that Cook & STOKES replaced palm-Toft & Porsing and then Holub replaced Stokes - it is total smokescreen to throw in whatever deal Stokes was on - that is irrelevant. He was used as a pawn to get the side Peterborough wanted and additionally it helped when they threw the toys out of the pram to state how it was not helping British speedway by stopping young British riders having a team place - which is where the whole hypocrisy arises to then drop him (after his short term/temporary/1,2,3,4 match deal ended) for a young foreigner. It's you that has the facts totally wrong, as to any opinion as to why the events happened, then you are fully entitled to your own view, however deluded it is. Hope this makes it a bit clearer for you
-
The silence is deafening!!!!
-
If he didn't replace Stokes who in the declared 1-7 did he replace?
-
That's my point exactly, Peterborough who know him better than anyone didn't see him ready for Premier League Sorry, conned was wrong choice of words, again the point I was making was that for some reason George did decide he was suitable for a reserve slot, so what was that based on - was he recommended ( if so were we fooled/conned/misled) or was it our own judgement call in which case it was very poor. He seems a nice lad who is keen to progress, but to be honest he is out of his depth at present and you fear that this experience now may be doing more harm than good. If Edinburgh ever did switch away from Bewley then he looks like someone who is relishing opportunity and progressing, but I think Edinburgh have more sense than to get rid now you can see the potential there.

Panthers Vs Tigers 10/6/16
Mad Max replied to LagutaRacingFan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Good scores from guests, not sure regular riders would have contributed that, so it may well have worked in Panthers favour -
We are losing (or drawing - Redcar!!) matches due to the structure of the team makeup and having too many riders missing with guest or r/r - and when we have full compliment it is a 6 man team straight away with little scope for riders having an off night. How george got conned into taking Phillips on is beyond me - should it not have been obvious that as Peterborough's no. 8 last year and with his connections to their management that they would have used him if he had any prospects of being an effective reserve?? I'm afraid we will have some more poor nights this season, and then no doubt it will be a poor track, or the ref's fault for a bad decision, or even pulling Phillips back after one of his "lightening" starts !!

Sheffield V Newcastle Premier League 09/06/2016
Mad Max replied to dantodan's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Maybe we should have asked Sheffield to give us a different night Seriously I think we have a chance of putting up a better than usual performance at Sheffield - this should be one of the tracks Kus performs at and Lambert will be good, together with a good guest and Lewis taking Pavlova's rides I'm hopefully optimistic (watch us struggle to get over 30 and my posting end up looking way off the mark!!) -
Apology accepted
