World U-21 And The Golden Helmet

If you Google Pardubice there is a mass of info on the town. Most usefull www.mesto-pardubice.cz/en then select Accommodation. There are buses that run past the track but it takes about 30 mins from the town centre, 10 mins by car and a taxi shouldnt bust the bank. Just over an hour from Prague by train and the fares dirt cheap compared to ours. Its about 2 hours drive from Prague Airport to Pardubice. Last year they sold tickets online for the speedway, you can also buy them at the tourist office, but we just get them at the track. Its about 6 Kms town to track. Accommodation may be a problem this year as its the 60th Czeck Golden Helmet, with the World Junior & Czeck Golden ribbon a 3 day Extravaganza of Speedway. Indeed if you plan right you can fit in 6 Top meetings in 7 days. Hope this is a starter for 10. PS. on page 2 of this section there is a thread "World U 21 Czech Golden Helmet"

Five if you include the 12 & Final round of the Marketa Cup. 4pm Tue 7 Oct. -
Yes I,ll echo that too as without them just listening to the buffering would have been infuriating. Hope its maybe sorted for next one. Can someone tell us how the points are added, ie are points awarded for the A & B finals for the Championship ?

There is plenty info on this site www.visitprague.cz Speedway-prague.cz gives details how to get to the Marketa stadium.

Makes you wonder why there are so many top riders not entering their own National championship ???

Polish League Transfers...rumours...
Mad Mitch replied to tommy's topic in International World of Speedway
It seems Poland & Sweden sign up there riders as soon as the seasons over. British clubs then have to cosider if they,r prepared to accept a riders absense due to prior commitments. We can hardly complain about this if our governing body dont meet till end of Nov a nd the rules for next year still to be decicided -
Are there confirmed dates yet ?

Speedway World Cup 2008
Mad Mitch replied to JanusMillard's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Have to agree with you Sir, and the Junior World Cup can be just as good. We enjoyed super racing at Pardubice 2005 & Rybnik 2006. -

What a real negative, pesamistic slant this thread has taken. Is there no enthusiasm for a Speedway World Cup out there ? If not theyd be well advised to scrap it. -
Speedway World Cup 2008

The last World Cup in DK produced some super speedway at Holsted, Outup and yes Vojens. Sweden were the winners even minus TRICK due to injury. I am pretty sure that the tracks were prepared for good safe speedway, well we really enjoyed our week there. -
Did anyone notice this gem " now all the riders have had one race each" this after heat 8 ?

Gp Commentaries
Mad Mitch replied to tigerhart's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Did notice that Greg Hancock " failed to complete the race " rather than tailed off, trailing in at the back. Which is said whether the rider is a fraction of a second behind or 50 yards. Other than that whats wrong with saying the rider was 4th or last ? A very comprehesive description and full information of a GP rider, " W Jagus THE POLE " -
When asked if he was pleased to be back on the podium he replied, Yes ,was looking for the win but my mind seems to be someplace other than speedway at the moment. or words similar to that. Maybe just an off hand remark but maybe tells why he,s not at the same level as last season?

Cheap Flights For Gelsenkirchen
Mad Mitch replied to SCOOBYDO's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
You made the right decision M8. GP finishes 10pm ish on a cold Oct night, you,l be tucked up nicely b4 the others have left the Bahnhof. As for staying in a non industrial place, last time I drove through Essen passed the giant Krupp Steel plant which was about 5 miles long. So there wouldnt be much point in you switching to there. -

The New Scoring System
Mad Mitch replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
If the money for scoring even 1 point is correct then keeping riders competitive in the last few heats won,t be a problem. Is the money for points scored known to speedway fans ? -
The New Scoring System
Mad Mitch replied to Grachan's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Maybe a format of 16 riders 5 rides each rider meets every other rider, the top scorer after 20 heats is the winner. Whats so complicated about that ? -
For Our Entertainment!
Mad Mitch replied to AmberCelt's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I think C & D isnt a bad choice if you must have a live band. Although I would be just as happy with the Royal Marines, the Bathgate & Tophichen pipe band and the Black Dyke Mills band. If you want singing at the Millenium Stadium go to the rugby, its great. -
I should think 1700 4pm GB is gates open with start time 1900 6pm GB

If pre match entertainment at the Millenium Stadium is your top priority I would advise you to attend a 6 nations rugby match there. The music, atmosphere, full house, in full voice beats anything Ive seen or heard in any stadium. Well maybe the last night of the Tattoo at Edinburgh Castle comes close. Sorry this wont qualify as pre match and anyway was sold out last January.
