  1. Scorpions J Auty L Kerr M P Toft A Davies R Douglas C Wilkinson J Bailey Rockets TBC P Karger or RR C Heeps L Lanham S Robson K Lykke B Morely (Team lineups from each clubs respective last meetings, Scunthorpe at Workington and RH at Sheffield which got called off) TBC is because Sam Masters was due to guest for RH at Sheffield on thursday night
  2. A poor meeting by the Scorpions. I dont believe the track was prepared to how the lads are used to in an evening meeting and full credit to Berwick for taking full advantage of our misfortunes. As for the start marshal, it was me and some chap from Sheffield doing it, as we're licensed to do so and yeah it was our first time doing it. We got some abuse thrown our way by Berwick fans and by my own admittance I could have done a better job. Thats in the past now, us scunny fans have to work with Rob now to try keep as many people interested in Scunthorpe Speedway as possible before all the crowd goes then we wont have speedway in Scunthorpe. SD
  3. With a day to go and no thread started thought I'd start one. Scorpions Josh Auty Andreas Lyager Alex Davies Michael P Toft Ryan Douglas Carlos Wilkinson Josh Bailey Berwick Guest for Seb Alden Kevin Doolan Theo Pijper Matt Whethers Thomas Jorgensen Romano Hummmel Liam Carr. Would like to say Scorpions by 10 but my predicting days are over!
  4. Would like to see a scunny win here, and no disrespect to Peterborough (without Cook and MBJ) they look slightly depleted. Would like a Scunny win and MPT to get one one over on P'boro.... this will be a cracker theres no doubt about it
  5. R/R for Garrity evens out the playing field. With Lyager taking ill, then I would suggest R/R to be the option mr G will take, or could he bring another guest in? Richard Hall? based on his performance in the BSF, I'd happily take him. Should be a cracking meeting, and thoroughly believe Scunny can take this one still. Will be there, as always, loud and proud cheering on the Scorpions
  6. £15, standard PL meeting + MDL 6 heat meeting. Can see this being a close one, obviously both teams making changes, so could be a bit different from last time. From last week alone, we know what Steady, Howarth, Bates and Garrity perform. Berge could prove to be a trumph card for the Tiggers, Based on how our (Scunny's) reserves are for Sunday, I can see Scunny having the upper hand in the lower order. It will be a good, close meeting. And Hopefully a Big Scorpions win, and happy welcome backs to MPT and Andreas. 52-38 Scunny win
  7. Be a hard one for the scunny boys, but in this league anything can happen, I understand Redcar only lost by 12(?) at Glasgow and then P'boro got thrashed the following week. Glasgow are certain of a win, would like to see Zeddy score a few, hopefully Ales, Josh and Flyin Ryan can do some business and we can keep it close
  8. See P'boro have dropped MPT and Busk Jackobsen... Im sure MPT would be welcomed back at Scunny if he has been offered a chance.
  9. Im about 5 miles from the track.. Overcast at the moment, some grey clouds about put its passing
  10. Looking forward to this one, Newcastle meetings are generally classics. I think without Tero, Newcastle have a disadvantage. R Lambert never raced on the track post stock car track work, so should be interesting to see how he gets on (if he isn't committed to racing for BV) Steve Worrall has had inconsistant meetings at scunny since he left us in 2012. Danny Phillips has been alright in our amateur meetings, but cant see him being used to the track when set up for Premier meetings. Kus will be the one to watch for Newcastle. For Scunny, hopefully its the home return of our hobnob (aka Zdenek Holub) and I cant see why he cant cause some upsets. Hope Wilko has his engine problems from ht 15 last Sunday sorted as he really was on fire last week, as was Josh 'Naughty' Auty who clocked a big 16. Hope most of the crowd, including travelling supporters stay back to watch the kids, you wont be dissapointed
  11. Think this could be a cracking meeting. Think and hope scunny can take this one.... 50-40 to sunny scunny
  12. Congratulations to Peterborough on their fine victory. Tom Perry was their trumph card with 12, and Niklas Porsing scoring 13 on his first ever visit to the EWR I believe (?) For Scunny, even off a defeat like that, there are some positives from the meeting: Ryan Douglas was outstanding for the Scorpions as per, Alex managed to come to the races, even if it was later on in the meeting, and Josh Bailey, yes the kid scored 1 point all evening, his efforts could not be faulted. A awesome young lad with one hell of a career ahead of him. As for the rest, Josh Auty Im not sure whats wrong with him setups or is he keeping his best engines for the EL. Wilko, needs some time off to rest his shoulder. Ash Morris, yeah its his first meeting and will take some time to settle in. Hope the Scorpions can improve for the next meeting vs Plymouth in 2 weeks.
  13. Cant remember if Grondal has ever ridden the EWR in official competition.. He could easily be the Panthers trumph card
  14. Myself and my gang are staying in Weston Super Mare on the Friday night (pairs night) which is about half hour drive to Zummerset
  15. Fair play to Peterborough, the better team on the night. Im sure if Nic wasn't on EL commitments, the score would have been different. Rich Hall unwell, credit to him for even racing. Ryan and the 2 Josh's did their jobs, especially young Josh Bailey, he has a good racing head on such young shoulders, and is more than doing his job at reserve. Hope Zeberdoo is not too badly injured and can ride on Thursday. As for Wilko, he could do with a couple weeks off, broken collarbone and still riding is only going to weaken us. Hope we can make a better job at Sheffield and at home to the Panthers next week
  16. Think this could go either way, but I can see a Peterborough win, but with Scunny taking a consolation point. Without Nicolai, the Scorpions are weakened, I appreciate theres not many riders about, but surely we could have got a better guest than Richard Hall. If there is anyone going to meeting that could get me a programme please, it would be very much appreciated, please PM me. Cheers
  17. Not a Scunny classic meeting, but some good racing nonetheless. For Scunny, Josh (Auty), Ryan and Josh (Bailey) deserve a lot of credit . For the rest of the lads, it was a bad day at the office. Over watered before the meeting started I'm lead to believe, which is normal for Scunny, but the several showers throughout the meeting, the track got worse within the first hour and that was it for Scunny, the last 4 - 5 races when the track dried out was when Scunny managed to get the setups right, but it was job done for Sheffield by then. Garrity and Howarth was impressive for Sheffield, and Wilko scored an unusual 4, if he had been fully fit it could easily have been double that. 2 Weeks until our next home meeting, but 2 away fixtures inbetween I'm sure the boys can get things sorted out. Onwards and upwards
