  1. Let's not give up before seeing what is on offer. NL Speedway is better than no Speedway(IMO), so I will wait and see what is proposed. Rye House going EL will certainly be of interest, but, as it stands at the moment, I can see myself attending both and watching more Speedway, not less, in 2017 The Hammers- Down but not out, we hope.
  2. Speedway Star suggests that it's NL for next year...
  3. That's not welcome news. I would certainly take PL, or even NL racing, rather than no racing at all next season. I also wonder how the EL will survive with, what, 7 teams?
  4. It's a shame that rabid posts from The Voice of Treason can't be banned from this one, either;-). Last year, without Kelvin, we were bottom. This year, we made the playoffs. Arguing that Kelvin hasn't made a difference unfortunately shows a lack of any mathematical ability, not to mention a tenuous grasp on reality....
  5. He won't have to- Loyal supporters will still be going. I don't think the rabid nutters on here will be missed a bit. That's supposing that they are let out for long enough to even attend meetings The track was a bit too slick last night, but everyone did their best. Up the Hammers!
  6. If we ride like Friday, I can see us winning by 14, especially if Zagar is hit and miss. Up the Hammers!
  7. At least AJ gets a run out in the GP this weekend - That should clarify whether he is able to really race or not Up the Hammers!
  8. We will see on Wednesday- Weren't you convinced that Friday's match shouldn't go ahead before Lakeside murdered Swindon?
  9. I like your spelling Steve- Waiving means rejecting, so we are rejecting the white flag. In which case, I agree with you!
  10. I wouldn't pick KK as he has let us down before. However, apart from Lambert, who goes well at Belle Vue, who is there that will do a decent job? It looks like AJ's replacement is...AJ, who could be back for the away leg next Monday. R/R on Wednesday, as KK (who is on stand-by if AJ isn't fit) is riding in Poland.
  11. That's a shame, as they would be the best two guests!
  12. So proud of the boys thrashing Swindon so convincingly. If we can do that again On Wednesday, who knows what will happen? Up the Hammers!
  13. I've been going on and off for 40+ years. There isn't another sport anywhere near as exciting. Sure, there are problems, but I wouldn't consider dropping Speedway. Especially as Lakeside will win the league this year ;-)
  14. By the same token, I assume that Poole will want lakeside in the playoffs so that they can continue to use Tungate as a guest...
  15. This should be a good meeting. BV would, I imagine, prefer Lakeside in the play-offs, so should be doing their best to ensure Swindon don't get a point. That being the case, Friday's meeting at Lakeside could also be a cracker, although it won't be the same without AJ riding
  16. It's not going to be a classic tonight- However, Sky had the choice of Showing Wolves V Poole, a week after showing two Wolves home meetings Showing Belle Vue V Leicester, also likely to be one-sided Showing the match they are going with, or Showing nothing at all this week Any choice would have someone complaining, that's for sure. Hopefully, Kings Lynn can put up a bit of a fight. Next week is Belle Vue V Poole, followed by the play offs, so I think I can forgive Sky for showing this one
  17. Gutted for AJ and gutted for Lakeside. Won't be too disappointed now if Swindon do manage to get a point at Belle Vue next Wednesday. Terrible news. Get well soon AJ
  18. Looks like an easy home win, but so did the Poole match that we lost! I'll be there tonight, cheering on the boys and looking forward to some good racing with a good result. I will happily settle for 46-44, although I imagine we will hit 46 by about heat 12. Looks like a nice, mild evening as well. Up the Hammers!
  19. I see what you are saying, but everyone scored at least a point. If we had scored 1 point less overall, we would have come away with nothing. I am so pleased that we are still in with a shout for the play-offs. Tonight, plus the home meeting against Swindon (assuming they get nothing at Belle Vue) now really mean something. Up the Hammers!
  20. Good point. Morley is listed as riding for Rye House at Sheffield on Thursday, but Kennett is not. I hope we can get a good guest reserve. I should have looked at lakeside's site. Dan Halsey in at reserve and Danny King guesting for the unavailable Kim Nilsson. Danny scored 10 last time he was there and Kim scored 3, so it might be close!
  21. Well, unless Swindon lose at home to Leicester again, Lakeside must get something out of this in order to have a chance of getting into the playoffs. A win would be fantastic, but a point might be enough to keep our hopes alive. With KL being somewhat inconsistent, we might be in with a chance Up the Hammers!
  22. The fight for 4th place looks like it will go down the Lakeside V Swindon fixture on September the 16th. Swindon are 4 points ahead, but have only 2 home meetings left, whereas lakeside have 3. Assuming the home team win each of them, then Lakeside need a point at Coventry (possible), King's Lynn (also possible) or Wolves. Swindon are unlikely to pick anything up at Belle Vue or Wolves. Of course, if Swindon lose at home to Poole, then things get more interesting, with (probably) only a Swindon win at Lakeside being enough to make 4th place in the table. Looks like an exciting run-in for 4th place
  23. Such negativity- Should be a cracking match on a lovely day. I don't mind if we only win by 1, as long as we get 3 points Up the Hammers!
