  1. I was in the pits when Scott was at Kings Lynn in the NL. He has a great influence on the younger riders, calm but positive, he is very dependable and on the track he gates extremely well. I have seen him demolish the field when conditions are dry and in the wet he is in a different league to most NL riders. His preparation is fastidious and he is well worth the average. For home meetings he will be travelling a huge distance to ride....look after him guys
  2. Fairly much, yes. I think KLYS are about developing riders for the future benefit of the club. Not all will remain and some are excellent catalysts to bring on young riders. The benefit of Scott Campos to the youngsters , etc, gives them invaluable help. As with all clubs who have two teams there is not the necessity to win the National League, crowds will never match "one team" clubs so support is inevitably reduced, however I agree with Gordon Bennett that KL will, as a club, have certain riders in their future plans. Josh and Nathan have improved with their PL experience and that 3 point system will bring on riders for the future of GB speedway. Also not all riders may wish to return and with Tom leaving there will be one place, at least, for new blood to add to the side.....interesting times.
  3. This is a good little team and lets hope that 2017 is a good year based upon solid foundations in 2016: I hope for Josh Bailey - injured at the end of the year but very fast and a top heat leader, PL and EL experience. Nathan Greaves - carried the flag a the end of the season with Josh out. Good solid heat leader. Scott Campos - great captain and was gating and scoring very well at the end of the season. Ryan Kinsley - can be in and out of form but on his day very fast . Shane Hazelden - lets hope he recovers from a nasty injury - holds the reserves together and valued Tom Stokes- a real shame to see him retire, need to replace with a quality rider Taylor Hampshire and Lewis Whitmore- both very young and need bringing on slowly NL racing at Kings Lynn is often better/closer racing than the EL team, I do hope that people will support these guys in 2017.
  4. Good to see Rob G. stating in the news that he would like the same 1 to 7. Certainly riders who want to ride and give of their best. Obviously averages need to be considered. As a Lynn Fan also, I would like to see Wilko and Josh B forming part, and if a number 1 is wanted then I do hope that Rob is speaking to Mr Schlein before he is snapped up. His experience and knowledge would be invaluable in the pits. MPT was on fire as a guest for Lynn at the highest level. A solid basis is there for a very good outfit. Best wishes for a successful 2017.
  5. Well done to Birmingham, KL boys will have been trying their best but this shows the disparity of teams in the league. Chances are at home on Friday KLYS will show very well against the IOW side (with all due respect to them) which will indeed confirm the difference in sides ....
  6. KLYS do not have the best away record but have been very fast at home, apart from against Birmingham I think Birmingham will win but they will need to be aware of KL's ability if it all clicks 15 points from Josh last week and with PL experience now at Scunthorpe. Pocket rocket. Ryan at 2 will need to get it together tonight Scott is reliable and will need to get everything working well, a good team leader Nathan - needs to show what he can do, on his day is a very fast, hard rider. Rides PL with Sheffield Tom - experienced now in PL with Peterborough, could be the dark horse Lewis - only 15 but rides the boards and is not intimidated by main team riders Shane - at 7 will be very useful, this season has really started to show his ability Will be interesting......
  7. I was stood on bend 1 and the visiting Kent fans there were an absolute credit to their club, and to Speedway in general. Obviously disappointed with losing heat 15 but gave due credit to the young stars.
  8. What a cracking meeting, fast and fair , hard racing by two good teams. Nathan and Josh stealing a result in the last heat. Credit to both teams.
  9. Will be a very interesting meeting. KLYS very good at home and should give a strong Kent side a good run for their money. Would be hard to predict. Look forward to a fast and safe evening.
  10. What a good nights racing. Credit to Cradley and well done to K Lynn. Some excellent racing, expected riders doing well but all credit to Lewis, 15 years old and picking up points, confidence building.
  11. Looks like a very good meeting. Weather should be much better than the mudbath -v- Buxton (cannot be worse). Layne has moved on and we wish him well and hope that he fulfils his potential with Cradley. New young signing with experience of the track but will need the advice and help from Scott and Shane to guide him. Expect the usual around Lynn from Tom, Nathan and Josh. Very sensible of both managers not to ride Layne tomorrow. Look forward to it. Woops should be 8.6.16
  12. Perfectly put by Mimmo, horrible out there as the rain was not heavy but fairly constant. Credit to both teams for their efforts. Interesting to see the different styles used to try and cope with the track. All credit to Buxton for hanging in there. All safe.
  13. Its overcast and cool at the mo. Had some rain this morning.
  14. Per proboards but not confirmed 1 Bailey 2 Kinsley 3 Hazledene 4 Stokes 5 Greaves 6 Cupitt 7 Campos 1Greenwood 2 Geary 3 Rutherford 4 Blacklock 5 Mudgway 6Whitmore (G) 7 Burton
  15. It will be interesting with Josh B and Ryan K being paired together at 1+2 . Both have come through the ranks together from Grasstrack and through the MDL with Kings Lynn, great to see home grown talent flourish, who knows maybe in the Stars team together sometime in the future?? Scott at reserve opens many possibilities and will help Layne too.
  16. This looks like a good meeting in the making. The Buxton manager has been very positive in his preview of the meeting and selection. KL are good at home (Birmingham accepted) and will make it difficult for the visitors. Hopefully a fair crowd as unusually KL Stars are racing the next day. There is good competition in the KL side for top points between Tom, Josh, Nathan and Ryan and good team spirit. Looking forward to it.
  17. Very well written, it is excellent to note that after last week -v- Birmingham some of the riders took a lashing as not being up to the job from some quarters (no problem with that as we all have an opinion) however great to see the team bounce back with an away win. I am one who was not at Coventry and I think that teams who have two sides will always suffer from lack of support for the "second team", not an excuse just fact. This is a good little side and deserves our support.
  18. It's an interesting one. Lets remember we have seen this team demolish Stoke and then beat Mildenhall well at home already. First home loss is to a team that were in brilliant form and their manager said it left him speechless. They were at their best. Josh and Ryan were excellent, Josh having to change bikes after bending one in his first race. Ryan overcoming mechanical pixies. Shane showed his real talent when off 15m, watching that race he really fought hard, the pace is there. Tom has obvious talent and PL will be to his advantage, Nathan had a bad day at the office but he has ability and will come on, Scott needs to be judged by his role as not just rider, he is the perfect captain for these young lads...watching his positive work with his team only enhances how these young guys race, Layne needs to find some speed and that will bring confidence. The track was difficult for all as could be seen early on. Birmingham took to it well. These guys are the future of British speedway, 2 wins at home and 1 loss to the team who will most probably win the league. Dale manages them so well...its a learning curve for many and will be interesting to follow their individual progresses.
  19. Weather here yesterday was heavy rain at times and rained overnight. Clear at the moment and forecast of little rain and some sunshine so hope that we should be fine. Very much looking forward to this one. KLYS have had two good wins at home and go well on home soil. Reserves will be very interesting, Ryan is flying at home and JPB will keep him honest. Birmingham will obviously be a big challenge and lets look forward to some fast and safe racing.
  20. A terrible crash , all hopefully from social media coverage are on the mend, but the Mildenhall reserves wrist obviously took a right bashing. Good luck to you all for speedy recoveries. A good win as a Lynn supporter, but I have to have sympathy with the Mildenhall guys as not being able to replace riders without reserves (no 8 syndrome) etc. means 3 riders in a race, not good for the club or fans . Maybe this is something that will be addressed by the authorities in time. All clubs suffer from it at some point but it is not good for racing. A long night and sadly no second half rides for the youngsters. On a positive note some good riding seen by both sides, Ryan at 7 has to be one of the best reserves around. Must remember my top coat too when it starts as a warm evening...damn cold by the end.
  21. Very much so, I think it will be a good meeting. KLYS, I think, will have a good home advantage especially considering the difference in tracks. Mildenhall have some good riders and there is nothing better than a local derby. Lets hope for some good racing.
  22. A good result for Scunthorpe last night. Not able to attend but picked up the scores online. Great that Josh B is getting some real help from you guys. We supporters of KL young Stars are very proud of him and it was good to go to Pboro and support him (despite the score), also met some great Scunthorpe fans . His rides for Scunthorpe have been excellent for him and he was very impressive at KLYS first meeting of the year, he was flying . With some (not all) negative publicity for the new 3 point system , it helps young riders like Josh, and the others, on the ladder. A great battling rider who will fight for every point. Please keep supporting him and look after him. We need young GB riders to come on otherwise we shall be supporting teams with few GB riders like PL football, it is great to have the imports but even nicer to see home riders establish themselves.
  23. A tough night at the office for Stoke and you had to feel for them, although all credit to them as they stuck at it. KL were dominant throughout and Ryan, Josh and Nathan were quick and very tidy. Tom Stokes was riding with pain in his hand still I'm sure and even with a spill rode very well. Scott Campos is a fine captain, there for his riders throughout with help and encouragement and is a credit to his club. Good luck to Ryan Josh and Nathan in the U21 final tonight, Three fine riders.
  24. Another night of battling twixt Nathan for Sheffield and Josh for Scunthorpe, Nathan getting the better this time. Great pair of riders for KLYS.
  25. Well done to Josh Bailey last night qualifying in Kent for the U21 British final. Also fastest time of the night I think. Enjoy the final Josh.
