  1. Yeah I couldn't agree more, makes it look so out of touch. It needs a good grimey electronic dubstep track to go with the dirty, fast, no brakes, no fear image. And what happened to music before the heats? Eye of the tiger used to be a decent opener.
  2. Swindon didn't overtake a single rider, it was all gating. If your idea of a good speedway match is first out of the gate then we might as well get rid of the other 3 and a half laps, would certainly save a lot of money! I'm not saying Swindon didn't deserve the win, I'm saying that it was almost impossible to overtake. There was one line and that was it. All of Swindon's points came from the gate. I think Kildemand was the only rider to overtake anybody all night long.
  3. Really think a lot of this was down to the track. The riders aren't firing on all cylinders yet, but I'd go looking at the track before you start chopping riders. Honestly, the track was awful last night.
  4. I would class inside as front wheel riding the edge of the grass, which it definitely wasn't. When Kildemand made his passes it was always the first race after the track had been graded and half a dozen track staff were raking as much onto the outside as possible. There was no racing last night, just gating. The track was dire, it was too smooth and there was no line. The outside of the track was shiny, hence why the gating riders won. It was follow the leader and dreadfully boring. Fingers crossed we can get this fixed soon.
  5. Track was awful! I counted 2 or 3 passes all night, and pretty sure they were all from Kildemand. The track was utter rubbish. There was only one line around the middle, no dirt on the outside, almost impossible to overtake on. Riders on the outside gate were putting their back wheels right on the fence to chase a little bit of dirt, all the riders going wide to try and get some grip just found themselves in no mans land. So many times we saw our riders chasing a dirt line that wasn't there. Gaters paradise last night with almost no overtaking opportunity. The usual thick outside racing line around Poole was non existent. You will be able to count this years passes on two hands if we don't get the track sorted quickly. Smooth as a baby's backside but absolutely no grip on the outside.
  6. But where do you draw the line? Newman rode with us for years and unfortunately he wasn't really making any progress. Don't get me wrong, I liked the lad and I was sad to see him go, but surely Brits should need to earn their position just like any other rider? Surely if the position is given to them purely for being British, where is the motivation to excel or push forward? Without that motivation it's just charity. I know it's hard to be open minded when it comes to Brit's, but I just don't believe in gifting positions purely because they are British. I don't think it motivates them to succeed and I don't think it encourages them to be real sportsman. I do agree that they should be given a chance, but surely a season is a chance? 2 seasons? 3 seasons?
  7. I think Poole did a great job. We have a lot of foreign riders who are UK rusty in general and just starting to gel as a team. Rome wasn't built in a day. Not sure why some people think that Poles should all be able to perform well instantly at the NSS, just because it's big! I didn't say there was anything wrong with Shanes, other than I don't rate him. Poole have given plenty of Brits a chance. A chance is an opportunity isn't it? Wouldn't you say several years in the team is more than a fair chance? There is a big difference between giving somebody a chance and carrying somebody undeservedly because of their nationality. That would be the very definition of racial discrimination, would it not? You can try and talk Poole down all you like, but your constant babbling on about how sh*t we are won't make it so. It's very odd your obsession with degrading Poole... I've never seen anything like it. You jump on our threads like flies to sh*t. Your posts are so full of biased vitriol and passive aggression that there is a complete lack of respect among any of the members of this forum for you or anything you write.
  8. Really pleased with the result considering it's only the 2nd match of the season. Lots of promise from the Pirates and certain there is more to come from our Poles. Personally I don't see anything in James Shanes and I don't know what all the fuss is about, but there you go, we went for the 2 pointer option.
  9. Yes I do. What do you want to know?
  10. That's giving him too much credit.
  11. Poole could afford to buy the entire league race suits, but that wouldn't suit Matt's lifestyle.
  12. Couldn't agree more. Why they don't explain the reasoning behind these f*cking rules this is absolutely beyond me. It's asking for controversy.
  13. He say's that to make him feel better about it. If Gavan feels it, we all feel it, remember?
  14. A world champion speedway rider, taking a short amount of time off due to devastating personal issues, being replaced by a substitute GP rider who hasn't even came close to the champs level and everybody is up in arms. A sport full of ars*holes, and I'm not talking about the promoters.
  15. To be fair, it's actually not logical or sensible to consider him a GP rider. The only truly logical argument would be that the 15 qualified riders are considered GP riders and that anybody else is not considered a GP rider. It's only illogical when you start creating your own criteria as to how well or how often a substitute or wildcard has performed in order to be considered a GP rider. The rules need to be straight forward. GP riders are GP riders. If we're going to start changing what we consider to be GP riders based on differing opinions as to who is performing at what level then we might as well throw away the rule book completely and just make up everyone's averages.
  16. The only people who prefer bibs to team suits are the dinosaurs of the sport. Frankly the dinosaurs have done enough damage. If we want this to be a professional sport then we need to start acting professionally. Unfortunately many of the promoters have resigned themselves to trying to please the old folks and have practically given up on fresh blood.
  17. Why don't they truck it in from Europe? Road freight isn't that expensive compared to the reward, especially if you get multiple clubs in on it.
  18. You don't take a website and email server down to do an update!
  19. The Go Speed International website (gospeed.co.uk) and email server is currently down. The domain is far from expiry so it does appear that the sites have been taken offline intentionally. With no TV deal announced so far and promoters hinting that one will not be found... has Go Speed ceased trading? Is this the end of any hope of a TV deal?
  20. I believe it's called retirement?...
  21. http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/speedway/piratesnews/15866847.Pirates_inch_closer_to_Sundstrom_signing_after_three_league_rule_lifted/ That's all I've seen
