Kings Lynn V Poole 25/04/18

Problem is it must be very costly and time consuming to start hosting a meeting that doesn't go ahead. Very difficult one to call. It's not like the promoters want to turn money away but I can see why they call it early. -

You know that hasn't actually happened, right?... -
If we win I'll make a collage of all these hilarious posts to rub in their faces

No need to panic just yet. Was never realistic to expect this team to hit the ground running. As long as we peak at the right time we'll do alright. -
Also for the F1 fans, the new theme tune (funnily enough it's quite similar to a Pirates of the Caribbean epic) really suits the action of F1 perfectly in my opinion.
-
There's 30 million songs on Spotify alone, it's not like we're in short supply of options. I don't know why it has to be between some ancient song nobody has heard before or the Pirates of the Caribbean theme song. Something electronic would suit the image of the sport a lot better. Some of the music Nero makes, especially in instrumental format, would suit the image of the sport perfectly. It's high speed, high octane, wheel to wheel action! Not a children's play.
-
No. Why does it have to be two crap options?

Don't get me wrong, all my speedway friends are many years my senior. I enjoy nothing more than taking my grandfather down to the speedway and hearing all his speedway stories of the last 50 years or so, but there is very much a feeling that we're giving up on appealing to any other age range.
-
Does he? I'd of thought he'd have got rid of that to save a few bob.

It really depends on how you want to run the sport. If you want to move forward, attract new audiences, attract new sponsors and actually grow the brand then you need to be with the times. That means modern music, professional race suits, top notch logos, snazzy designs and proper social media presence. At the moment it looks like they're just trying to appeal to their bread and butter pensioners!

I was watching the Best Pairs in Poland and even those teams had proper race suits! We might as well replace "Volvo Cars" with "Tin Pot"!

Do you think most of the NL and championship riders are making a decent living off it? Let's not play silly buggers. If you were a plumber and you had 2 clients, one of which was paying you £10 and hour and the other one was paying you £100 an hour, who do you think would be getting the best service?
-
Let's not pretend that there is a single rider in the world who gives half as much of a sh*t about England as they do Poland.
-
He'll bring it over here, don't worry yourself too much.
-
I didn't stay for the press conference. I did read the Daily Echo the next day though and there was plenty of quotes from Middlo but not a single word about the track.
-
What is the current blend? Are you still using Breedon?
-
It's just a shame the promotion doesn't have the bollocks to talk about it publicly.

Poole v Swindon SGB Prem A. 18th April 2018
BurntFaceMan replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Peter Kildemand was the only rider to pass outside of 1 and 2 on the first laps (and even then it was only in the first heat after grading and track staff pulling all they could onto the outside line). If 13 out of 14 riders can't pass, then there is definitely something up with the track. The live updates are definitely misleading. That's not to say that Swindon wouldn't have hammered us either way, they were the riders to beat, in particular Nick Morris and Troy Batchelor were very fierce and the Swindon lot were gating like champs, but to pretend that the track was decent and Poole just couldn't get to grips with it is fantasy. There was 1 line and the gaters had first dibs on it. The Poole riders were all over the track looking for grip, but any slight deviation from inside-middle to middle line were huge "no mans land" speed scrubbers. I'd rather lose every meeting and have unpredictable heats, than 52 and a half laps of follow the leader every meeting. -

I was there. You were sitting behind your keyboard posting on swinger forums and w*nking over Poole. The "passes" you refer to are 1st and 2nd bend, which if you were a real supporter, you'd acknowledge that these were based almost purely on the gating and had little to do with on track passes. If you do think they were real passes then we might as well get rid of the other 3 laps, it would certainly save a lot of money. The track was sh*t and had 1 line. You can't race with one line, just like you can't call somebody if only one of you has a phone.
