  1. He does indeed still hold the track record! 56.91 set in 2006. I remember the NEW TRACK RECORD sign flashing at the side of the track! Can't wait to see him back!
  2. Sounds pretty boring to me. And unworkable too. So a rider who joins the team in July has to stand down whilst he's replaced with a guest? Here's a better idea, each team can sack one heat leader of their choice before the play offs to replace with an international rider of their choice. I'd rather the 4 teams in the play offs get to bring in some of the GP stars than some silly rule to add to the growing list of diluting rules.
  3. Hans Andersen has pulled out of the SEC. He clearly has a very genuine and very painful injury. It is ludicrous to think he would be able to ride in his condition. The fact of the matter is that Poole have an injured rider and they have replaced him within the rules of the sport. Poole have clearly applied for Antonio Lindback's average to be reassessed and it was. Stop crying cheats, stop blaming Poole and their fans, and start blaming those who make the rules and those who assess the averages in complete secret. You are not angry with Poole, you are angry at the lack of transparency within the sport, and the fact that Poole is making a better fist of it.
  4. To say Poole has cheated is ridiculous. The problem is a sport where big decisions (such as assessed averages) are left in the hands of any one person. Such decisions must be made transparently and based upon a fixed set of rules. No exceptions.
  5. Perhaps it's time people started listening to Matt Ford! Matt has been calling for a squad system for donkey's years. A proper set of rules needs to be in place to stop these things happening. We cannot have a system where any one party can make a decision regarding something as important as an assessed average. It must be a documented procedure with no exceptions. The only time exceptions should be made is before the season and it shouldn't be decided by any one person. The entire process should be transparent. Speedway has a huge transparency issue. If you want to stop these things happening then you've got to stop turning up and giving them your money. It's the only way unfortunately.
  6. That's his ring finger, not his clutch finger. And those 3 stitches are just for show! A lot of people in our country who end up with a couple of broken fingers and a couple of stitches want a week off work and a week of light duties, yet because it's happened to a speedway rider they expect him to jump straight back into international racing.
  7. To be fair, don't think there were any Poole fans moaning at all... I think we were all congratulating them actually? In fact, if I recall, it was you complaining about all the moaning Poole fans, but there wasn't a moaning Poole fan in sight Well that's our Gavan for ya! I reckon this will become the norm. Get through to the play offs and then swap out one of your riders for a GP rider contracted to do 4 meetings.
  8. Bjarne is only just about cutting it as reserve as it is. Newman is our big weak link imo.
  9. Gavan, if somebody doesn't agree with you can you just learn to drop it rather than turning everything into a fight? I genuinely cannot communicate to you enough how boring and frustrating it is to see you ramble on through every thread, reinforcing your opinion over and over again until the other person stops replying! That is not debate, it's just bullying and it's very tiring to put up with every day. For what it's worth, I think you called that meeting spot on, but other people are always going to disagree with you or make d1ckish comments. Just leave them to it. Every time you jump on your being rude and strong-arming people who don't agree with you train, you just p1ss off another group of people who will go out of their way to be d1cks next time. I'd put you on ignore, but then I'd miss the few quality (non argument) posts you make.
  10. You missed it amongst the abuse. I'd post it again for you but now I can't find it either.
  11. Gavan, The good news is nobody gives a hoot about who you are. The fact you had a big old sulk over a bunch of random internet users not believing who you are really is golden. Nobody cares who you are, and you shouldn't care what they think of you. Remember when your mum told you to ignore the bullies? Sticks and stones, etc? The bad news is you deserved everything you got and it's been great fun reading your little one man meltdown. The problem with you is that you don't seem to quite understand reasoned debate. Your idea of reasoned debate is stating your opinion again and again until other people stop arguing with you. It's really quite irritating seeing you fill a thread up with the same opinion again and again. On top of this you have a somewhat irritating habit of complaining about posters who've turned "personal" or "abusive", but seem blind to the fact that you do it all yourself. Just take a look at some of the horrible things you've directed at other posters whom have crossed your path.
  12. What are you banging on about now? You think Tai is going to take a forum member to court over something said in a post? Oh that would be fantastic for his public image! I'm sure he'd be happy to put the funds up for that too. Rather than release a press release explaining how he's completely innocent and these lies are nothing more than malicious fabrications, instead he'd rather pursue court action over a forum member! Give it a rest fella. If Tai was innocent he'd have said something by now. He's not protecting BSPA by keeping his mouth shut, he's protecting his own backside from public backlash.
  13. UK isn't the place for top flight speedway anymore. There's not enough money to make the tracks decent enough to get the top riders to give it their all, and there's not enough money to bring new blood into the sport. Frankly Britain's offerings at the moment are a pile of s**t, except for possibly Robert Lambert. It's no surprise that British speedway is failing miserable and their GB world cup team is being carried by an Aussie.
  14. Are you suggesting he had other options?! Quite frankly you're either suggesting that Bomber was a superstar in the making and that Team GB has evidently held him back (in which case Woffy has made a wise choice!), or that Team GB should be grateful for anything they can get. Our hero... the inelegant and poorly performing Chris 'Bomber' Harris. He's like the Mo Farah of our sport, except it's as if he's trying to do it in high heels. The Tories gained power 6 years ago and I have been struggling to come to terms with it since. I've been a wreck. I can't do my job properly anymore but I still turn up every week for a pay check.
  15. What exactly does "paid his own expenses" mean? Is it that he didn't make a penny, they didn't pay him points money, and his sponsors didn't contribute anything? Or more likely that he simply didn't get his Starbucks paid for?
  16. True fans would buy me a drink and do the washing up for me.
  17. I always thought it was a bit weird having an Aussie in Team GB anyway.
  18. You seem to be implying we all had a meeting and decided we needed our own reaction thread, as opposed to one forum member starting the thread...
  19. No need to change! We've got a solid team from 1-7 when they are firing on all cylinders. I am sure Matt will have sufficient enough financial incentive to up his riders performance for the play offs. Tai is usually crap anyway. He's got the same commitment to British Speedway as Starman has to spelling.
  20. The vast majority of Poole fans have been supportive...
  21. Although I have absolutely no problem with the move the Wolves have made, I do find it irritating that certain names on this forum that would be first to complain if Poole had made a similar move are jumping to the defense of the Wolves. Just goes to show a lot of double standards when it comes to what is and is not ok.
  22. Nobody cares unless Poole is winning.
  23. We're not all bitter about this... I for one couldn't care less! Good on em. Hopefully Belle Vue and Poole can respond in a similar fashion. For those saying it's unfair on Kylmakorpi... boo-hoo! It's a competitive team motorsport, not cuddles day. This sort of thing needs to happen more often. I for one would love an Elite League ran by Matt Ford's.
