  1. I think most of Holder's frustration was with the home track.
  2. I don't think most Poole fans were adamant that Holder would never ride for another club, rather a small handful of posters saying the same thing again and again.
  3. I think it will be a lot closer than that! I don't expect any of those top 3 to consistently be able to beat their counter parts. Certainly wouldn't fancy calling Noddy over KK.
  4. Looks like a terrible top flight side. Thank god this is the SGB Premiership instead! Looks pretty solid to me. This sort of league standard will suit Sam and Sqora in my opinion, can both easily top their averages up. Call it what you like but it looks like this might well be one of the closest and most unpredictable seasons for a long time. (Just don't call it top level!)
  5. Sorry but I really don't believe that. If Speedway were as accessible as karting then I'd imagine James Shanes would be pretty low on the list of options.
  6. It's meant to mean that Matt couldn't care less whether the relationship were soured or not. If it made business sense to include Chris in the team then he'd be there.
  7. He should have stuck around. He'd be SGB Premiership heat leader level
  8. I'm not being funny but... anybody who buys a speedway bike can enter at James Shanes level with a month or two's practice.
  9. I already faced reality long ago. I've been saying since 2008 that the sport is heading completely the wrong direction. But to say that Shanes has more potential than Lambert is a bit laughable. Give it 2 or 3 years and British speedway will be a thing of the past. Which Holder?
  10. You've got to be kidding right? When we start saying riders like James Shanes are the future of British Speedway, we're accepting that the future of British speedway is very bleak!
  11. If it were all down to figures, Cecil would put his mother's murderer in the team if it meant he'd have the upper hand.
  12. More like he's the only chance we have. The new Premiership format basically guarantees that new British riders will never get the chance to excel at international level.
  13. This is boring now. Chris Holder rides for King's Lynn. Who gives a ship about why?
  14. Can you cut out this absolute carp of "you dig a bigger hole with every post you make"? I don't know what hole this is you refer to, but I can assure you that I couldn't give a monkeys about what you or anybody else says or thinks about me or my posts. I find it hysterical that you think some sort of score is being kept. Perhaps get out a bit more. Are you really suggesting that the reporter was trying to out do Kings Lynn? How exactly are they out doing them? What exactly have they gained from this, and what exactly has Kings Lynn lost? Why do the folks up in Norfolk give a hoot about the local rag 200 odd miles away? Frankly your complete over reaction to this is humiliating. A reporter reported some news. Get over it. The world you live in is a dream world then mate. We have respect for people, we use manners and we take care of each other (well, most of us do anyway) but we don't live in a fairy tale. Like I said before, your complete and utter over reaction to a short news article is embarrassing.
  15. There's no such thing as professional courtesy in journalism and nor should there be. They are quite literally in the business of breaking news. Nobody is going to take a Daily Echo to the till or visit the website article if it's already old news. If anything, it's bigger news to the Poole lot than it is the King's Lynn lot.
  16. As much as I'm not a fan of the new weakened league, this must be the most level playing field we've had in a long time.
  17. Unlike every other Poole fan ( ) I've not been following this thread. Who are these other signings? I'm only aware of 1. Nikolas Porsing. 6.99 2. Kai Huckenbeck 5.24 3. Chris Holder
  18. Why does it matter one little bit? It's a newspaper announcing the signing of a rider 1 day early. Ohhhh big deal! It's not like a newspaper to gossip is it?! Why would they do such a thing? Do you think it's Matt Ford trying to get one over on Lynn? Or I wonder if it's because it's back page news and will likely result in a few extra people buying their newspaper? Or a few more visitors to their website increasing their ad revenue (what with them being a business and all)? It's a good thing speedway isn't mainstream isn't it. There'd be a lot of grizzling supporters here with the way celebrity sportspeople are reported upon.
  19. I think having a rider of Kyle's ability and dedication capable of taking 7 rides in the play offs is a very very useful tool and Matt will be thinking about this!
  20. Nobody said he would be. But I bet he'll finish up there.
  21. To be honest I think it suits Kyle being at reserve. I don't think he has any major ambition to get to GP level and I think Matt see's him as a useful play off tool. I wouldn't be surprised if Kyle is asked to keep it steady throughout the season and turn it up a bit for the play offs.
  22. PIRATES chief Matt Ford has first option to sign Australian star Troy Batchelor for the 2017 season. Ford has more than eight points with which to recruit his final rider and former Grand Prix charger Batchelor, who last rode for Poole in 2007, would fit into the septet. Kacper Gomolski (7.71) would be another possibility, while Ford could turn to Pirates asset Brady Kurtz (7.65) for a second straight year. The Poole promoter has first call on the likes of Batchelor and Gomolski as he was granted access to the retained list of former Peterborough co-owners Rick Frost and Julie Mahoney when they took a step back from the sport. It is understood the arrangement is due to continue for one more year as it is a three-year maximum period. Ford has a close relationship with Frost and Mahoney given the duo's plant hire company, Readypower, has been Pirates' main team sponsor for the past two years. The club is currently in the process of searching for a replacement sponsor since the Readypower deal came to a close.
