Poole V Swindon Semi Final 1st Leg 11/9/17

A packed stadium in front of the cameras is ideal for encouraging sponsors. A decent sponsor can bring in more than several packed stadiums. -
Do We Still Need The Play-offs
BurntFaceMan replied to Star Lady's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
No because that would be boring. The play offs is speedways money shot. It's what it all leads up to. -

I'm absolutely not disputing that. If you prefer to be down there with friends, then go right ahead! I don't get those who act as if watching it at home is a bad thing. You pay for the sports subscription, they pay the clubs, they give the clubs the coverage they need to sell sponsorship packages and everybody wins. -
Yes I hate it when people like Skidder post interesting thoughts and opinions or give us things to chat about. I'd much prefer it if he's spend his time being arrogant and making abusive remarks, screaming his opinion on every page of the forum like Gavan. What this forum needs is less people like Skidder and more people like Gavan. Then we could just have one massive season long argument in which we all try to show off who has the biggest penis and belittle whomever doesn't agree with us!

Why would you expect people to travel to an away match when it's on TV? You do know the league benefits far more from TV coverage than they lose on a race night? Stop watching the TV and they'll stop covering the sport -

Haha the usual suspects clubbing together with the multi alias argument. Gater2 is the best one yet. Now you're quoting users I haven't even heard of hahaha. The classic idiots response -

Hello Swindon Shovlar -

Middleditch says that BWD turned up expecting to race and even spoke to the gate staff at the track. He also said that he'd heard Kyle had been booked a week in advance. Kyle said he thought BWD had his bikes there too "just in case", despite also saying that Kyle had been warned to prepare for the meeting weeks back. Rosco joining the Matt Ford school of tactics. -

Exactly right. Bunch of nobodies arguing for arguments sake. Nothing to come out of it except the perceived invisible crown of apparent forum superiority that is so deeply sought after by the same 4 or 5 posters. -

A dodgy track, no home advantage, an engine failure, a blind referee, Rosco pulling a fast one with a Poole track specialist for a race fit rider, no tactical ride available and Swindon won by a whopping... 2 points! Write off Poole at your peril. A team very capable over turning over Swindon at home if all firing together on a decent track. And the bonus Matt Ford will be offering them for a packed grand final at Wimborne road should give them that extra kick up the bum. Poole have nothing to lose, everything to gain and very capable. -

Do you realise how thick it makes you look when you keep resorting to the multi alias argument? What you're actually saying is "I don't have the intellectual capability to respond to your post, so I'm going to change the subject". It's the equivalent of somebody calling you out in real life, and you responding with "well... your mums fat". Isn't it funny that all the people you don't like, don't agree with or don't have the mental capacity to debate with are all KKS? In fact there are more of you accusing others of being KKS than there are people actually being accused of being KKS. Surely if you were KKS, you'd want to accuse other people of being KKS to deflect the attention away from yourself? So by that logic, one of the many posters constantly accusing other people of being multi-aliased posters is probably the multi-aliased poster themselves? Wow. So is that you then KKS? Why don't you go back to your other profile multi aliased one. -

10/3 odds for Wolves to win the title this year. Not a bad bet... -

Lol they were behind at the last heat and you're acting like the result was never in doubt! hahaha. You're a special one Gavan. Which Poole fan has been ungraceful? There's been nothing but polite celebration. Are you seeing things? -

Last heat decider! Should be doable -
This forum is like a vacuum for intelligence. The crowds are down because of the last cost cutting exercise. The crowds will only go up when we spend money and increase quality! Why can't anybody understand this basic fundamental? If we reduce costs again next season, we'll have to reduce them again the following season and then again the following season... Eventually there will be no costs left to reduce as there won't be any sport left! Cutting cost = Reduction in quality Reduction in quality = Reduction in attendance Reduction in attendance = Reduction in revenue Reduction in revenue = Cost cutting required. If attendances are down 20% this year alone, imagine how screwed this league will be in 4 years time!

Speedway Premiership In U.k. - So So Sad
BurntFaceMan replied to markyb's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Are you kidding? Ronnie and Terry are half the problem. Wayne is the only one who's coming up with good ideas and they get shot down at every AGM. -
Does anybody know what Jack's record time was, the previous record, and who set it previously?

Bit of a weird post from you to be honest Gavan. Klindt was a brilliant signing... so not really sure what you mean by that. And I don't see any Pirates fans going overboard? Where do you get these things from? British speedway will be lucky to have more than 1 GP rider next year. Our expectations of a great signing have changed drastically. The new "great signings" are these young foreigners that actually want to ride over here. No older than our young Brits, but with greater racing experience, financial backing and from a winning pedigree.

They don't care about us. Part of me wants to be outraged... but a bigger part of me feels like we'd do exactly the same thing if we were in their position. They've stamped their authority on speedway whilst we've squabbled over pathetic rule changes and diluted our league year after year. Poland won, and we've got to take what we can get, despite the fact that it is a bitter pill to swallow.
