  1. This is a good question and in all things it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Speedway as a marketing tool is very poor due to the nature of its followers. We have sponsored, many Elite clubs, World champions down to riders starting. We have sponsored the SGP, Grand prix and World cups.In general everything top to bottom. i would estimate our cost to be in the region of 1 million give or take. ( what do they say about a fool and there money LOL ) Our income from speedway in this time i would say is about 0, LOL. The thing is i have found most sponsors do it as they like speedway. Sponsors coming into the sport with the promise of how many people watch it and go and the work they will get are mis lead and dont hang around long. Go back 10 years and see how many are still here. No one who goes to speedway wants to by our products as they dont really need them. Maybe if the sponsor sold products the everyday person uses and can afford it would be differant. ( BIC razors or the like ) But you would never make a profit on speedway i dont believe. The people running speedway , sgp or domestic believe the product is worth far more than it is. I would say with falling crowds an no young people comeing and no tv the sport is worthless, even with tv it is worth very little. This is my opinion B4 everybody shoots me down as normal, dont get me wrong we have enjoyed our time doing it and would not change it but anyone coming into speedway sponsorship thinking they will make money are wrong.
  2. Maybe, but never refers to the UK as home, always AUS. A brit when suits him
  3. still not enough to make him a true Brit in my book. Nice one Bet the sponsors are beating down the door to be with him
  4. yes the racing did look close, be good with four riders and maybe a bit more speed. coming from an electric motor industry, the products on the market are very refined, engine braking as already said is not an issue. speed control is far better with electric than fuel. i wont go tech but this would work very well. looking at egons he seems to be nearly there maybe just needs a bit more power and by the surroundings its some sort of electric cart company.
  5. Take it your back from the dead then Yes you are right but that is not what the future holds for the sport to survive long term. Everything has to be green now, renewable energy, energy recovery. Just think if the team or riders could gain sponsorship from these companies. They are bigger than anything ever in this sport now and in the future. everybody uses electric so it would be a good marketing tool. Southern electric pirates verse the newlec eagles, watch the sparks fly Also the main manufacturers like KTM, HONDA, YAMAHA, and so on are all making electric motocross bikes. KTMs is very good. You would not then have just one, GM, but 10 or 20 companies involved. Look long term and think what this all could bring in sport profile, money and all that goes with it. One small door shuts for internal combust motor but look at the doors that could open
  6. yet another reason speedway is doomed, time goes on and things change ! I love the sound of F1, motocross, speedway and the like but we have to go forward. all the other sports are looking into this and other things. Its called the FUTURE I have seen motocross bikes riden by pros and it was blood good, not much noise but good.Electric speedway is better than no speedway, look at the positives of where you can have it due to no noise. Its about racing and close racing and if its good on lecky bikes then why not
  7. as the bike is electric quite easily reproduce the sound on the bike if you wanted linked to a pot on the throttle. would sound the same pretty much.
  8. Indeed they were good lifts but as all british manufacturing went to the dogs. I worked for the last british company H + C, took over by the germans and is no more we dont make anything in the UK anymore and not just lifts.
  9. i believe electric speedway could be the future, the sport is ideal for this as short races and easy to charge in pits which have 240v power. the motor and battery has developed so much over the last few years. these are very powerful and would be as quick i would of thought.
  10. another top venue just round the corner with a thriving speedway scene better get off this topic as start being negitive again
  11. yep very poor on its own the EL, shows speedway in a bad light and a good reason sky dropped it. another example of speedway taking the money, not investing it in speedway and showing a very poor product.
  12. Dont go, nearly always rains. Great city and lots to do if you go further out. Tickets always avail as never even half full. I take a taxi from aiport and back, not to dear.
  13. indeed sir, however that would be useful to many not just the few who ride speedway. patents in lifts is very hard and always ways round them. How do you know what i do ? KONE, lol, goes with ice cream dosent it.
  14. How much will this special track cost from Ole and will the ingrediants be as secret as the rovers hot pot ? Ole does not do anything for free and will be able to charege for this for years to come. very clever man really.
  15. incorrect, this type of sponsor is fast disappearing as there love of the sport has been ruined and we all know by who.
  16. just for accuracy i have added car park and programme for the 42.50. Who wants to sit inside as not the same and yes the toilets are a bit better. even with the two top riders still very poor value for money so why should the fans have to pay for matts wishes. very weak team again with the top two and a good chance there lose again with them. any way back to topic, still to expensive, when sky goes end of year what will prices be then ? £22.00 ! forgot to say NEW, was many years ago.
  17. The costs are far to high. If you go to poole on a family ticket thats £42.50. If you have a bite to eat or drink with the kids that gona be around £60 all in. Now if you go weekly thats around £240 plus fuel a month. there is a lot better around for far less cash and you dont have to stand up or sit on a dusty dirty seat with terrible toilets. Not just saying about poole as covers pretty much all tracks. you could even buy a new car for that or pays your mortgage. i think time has moved on and people want more for their money and good value which speedway is not anymore. i am quite lucky as dont really care about the cost but for the average working bloke which is the client of speedway its to expensive.
  18. Thought he was owned by Reading and they no more, could be wrong though.
  19. The sysytem needs a revamp and is in place due to the greed of the promotors who have driven the sport into the ground. Its like a load of school chillden playing twit for tat with who rides here and messing riders around.Every year it is the same old storey with this, no thought for fans and such and one of the reasons so many have waliked.
  20. If you read my posts you will see i want the sgp on tv as do watch them when i can, not bothered about elite as dont really watch it as pants. Yep dont like the bspa as done nothing for speedway and look where it is now, pretty finished in the uk. sky wouldnt be dropping speedway if it was any good or popular. i wont drop sky as enjoy other sports. img /bsi, i have always stuck up for them but yes have let us down so many times i could write a book about it sweden was final nail in coffin and yes cant stand them anymore and would not recommend them to my worse enermy, or maybe i would i shall attend poole whenever possible and maybe even a gp abroad if time allows. A lot of people need to wake up and smell the coffee as 99% of all involved in speedway are users and not really nice people or clubs, companys.
  21. Expect Sky will be shaking in there boots looking at all the lost revenue lol. Who and what is to blame? Speedway and the product it has become !
  22. where has the general improvements been. the show is the same as 10years ago really. a bit here and there has changed but thats it.
