totally agree. i put this to the bsi a few years ago and had a timing system in place for friday quali.wasnt taken up due to cost.

i will bow to your greater wisdom on all speedway matters. no wonder speedway is in the state it is in the uk. dont forget your wulfsport jacket it is winter now after all

i started racing scrambles as they were called in 1976 and at the prime old age of 50 i am still racing so work that one out for your self there are oppotunitys people just need take them as in all things in life. seems sgp always getthe blame for everything to do with english speedway.

dam right, to many old gits on hear trying to relive the past. bet they dont drive a ford consol now i started riding motocross 35 years ago and was far better then. i still ride today but dont go on about the good old days like a broken record. get real were in 2011 now and things wont go backwards.

The SGP is the best thing to happen to speedway end of storey. Yes there are several areas which need inprovement as i have said before and it should of moved on in last few years. I have been very critical of them lately and there staff.If you compare SGP to ama supercross which is the closest 2 wheel indoor sport the prize money is very much the same. Riders do generally want to be in the gp and be world champion. The sponsors pay more for a gp rider than non gp for coverage. They need to sell themselves a lot better. The problem is there are riders who have no chance of winning and it may cost them to compete but this is like mx1 motocross. ( no prize or start money at all ) Pepe is out as he knows he is not good enough and his increased sponsorship will be lost in polish earnings being down due to one rider rule. Ward is young enough to miss a year, he has the sponsorship to do SGP if he wanted to but another year out wont hurt, unless he gets injured and couldnt compete in the future then he may have regrets. Why does english speedway always come up in every topic about SGP. All there problems are down to the BSPA,the promoters,the stupid rules. The list is endless and this is why top riders dont want to ride in the UK. The SGP is diamond compared to how uk speedway is run but then again so is a dogs turd. Who knows what would of happened if BSI had not bought the rights to SGP ? Could of been better or far worse.

how would any legal action againt the country that bank roll the sgp be worth while. cant really see this happening.

from a sponsors point of veiw i would say 2011 has been the worst year. i have always been on the sgp side but after sweden i have my doudts. very poor.

i agree on most points. the bsi do a pretty good job but need to inprove in some areas, staff! and i dont mean you before you ask people harp on about british speedway and what the sgp has done or or not done for it. i would say more it has proven more positive than negative to the uk. reason british speedway is in its dieing state is. crap bspa, bent promoters, rubbish sadiums generally and really no idea were in 2011 and not 1950. yes sgp not perfect by long way but uk speedway, pikey is maybe the word just look at coventry now.

this is true, but is it worth the money to be floating round the back and having the mick taking. pepe and ped have no chance unless no one else turns up. then again expect they have trouble beating the track staff

there is no bonus in speedway just event money, motocross and supercross pay big bonus. teams pay bonus and so do sponsors.

all the riders do pretty well and most are minted. bsi pay rates are average but inline with other two wheel sport and better than most. the differance is in final winnings and bonus in other sport. look at rv in ama. two million supercross, one million outdoors. one million vegas. thats without salery and sponsorship. chap has done maybe 5 millon this year. speedway does not attract the sponsorship to pay this and never will. no big manufactures in sport really and not that many people go compared to other two wheel sport. unless bsi get into the states and such places and pick up major players on the sponsor front it will slowly die.
