  1. Thought that we'd have had ex-lion Paul Starke lined up along time ago for this fixture as Newman's replacement. Surprised he's lining up for Belle Vue. Missed a trick there.
  2. Nooo. We'll be finishing bottom & riding against Ipswich. That way our captain for the season can captain his other side for the season and contribute to relegating/promoting one of the teams he captains' for. Easy eh?
  3. Could be wrong but I don't reckon the generosity of the Lions promotion lends itself to a programme being thrown in. Then again I haven't bought a programme at a meeting since 1983
  4. When Kasprzak made a clear gate in heat 6, with Nicholls behind him, he was fine, completely confident. However when Lions riders' were close enough to dive under him, you could see him back right off, not wanting to race. Strange one because I've seen him be dominant around Beaumont Park. Sure he'll make enough gates for you to score plenty though.
  5. The incident was right in front of me, felt bomber tried just a little too hard, definitely carried too much speed into turn 3. No other choice I feel other than for the ref to exclude him. Good last few heats made up for pretty pedestrian racing in the first half of the meeting anyways. A good win for a sort of Lions team!
  6. Don't think so. Have turned up at Leicester on more than one occasion without knowing our team. More fool me I guess
  7. Crikey, is there any point? Are we missing Bjerre & Newman too? Maybe this should be a tenner to get in like last time
  8. Don't worry, you're only riding against the Lions. At least I think you are. Can't say I recognise me own team with that line-up.
  9. Josh Bates rode in heat 15 for the Lions on Monday night against Kings Lynn. He was riding at number 7.
  10. Absolutely. Try being a lions fan. The winning of any match for us is a triumph.
  11. I could be wrong but isn't a promotion/ relegation type thing supposed to be occurring at the end of the season? If we were to be relegated, I don't think we'd be able to keep any of the current team!
  12. Thanks. Genuinely think that's a shame, nobody better to watch in full flow at Beaumont Park than Doyley.
  13. Until you beat Belle Vue so well tother night, thought this might be a meeting we could get something from. Now just can't see it. Reckon it'll be a close one though. Is Mr.Doyle riding?
  14. As a Lions fan in our 4th season of mainly getting our arses kicked in the top league, I'd say you're doing pretty good! Good luck to you though.
  15. That's sad news. One of my favourites around Blackbird Road in the late seventies when I was growing up & getting into speedway.
  16. Lions promotion should have the decency to allow the fixture to be rearranged, if necessary, they got our home meeting against Wolves moved for similar reasons.Either way up the Aces would still probably win at a canter.
  17. Maybe somebody in the management could throw out an olive branch to Szymon Wozniak and persuade him to return. We might actually win a few bloomin' home meetings then
  18. All I saw with Perks was a guy lose a bit of control, in tricky conditions, unfortunately hitting Ayres who was just ahead of him. Was then correctly excluded from the re-run. And that's all. Well done to the Rockets, you were better in the second half of the meeting and deserved the win.
