Likewise from me Steve enjoy the season,Masters is a rider you would know more about than me but he has come along way.I remember when he got bombed out at Somerset i think Monberg replaced him??? since then he was really good at Edinburgh .And then has gone on to do a great job for the Wolves it will be interesting to see how his career pans out.
-
The interesting point about these three riders are they are all the same age and are in the same era.Kurtz come on the scene and blew us away at first, and i still love watching him ride.He has had a blip since then and needs to add more consistency to his racing.Holder last year came back from his Poole year and was terrific in the uk and on the continent.Fricke on the the other hand came over in 2013 and year on year he has improved come from riding a technical track Edinburgh to riding the terrific NSS stadium a real learning experience for him.

I will happily have a pint on it with you that Fricke will be in a GP series before Kurtz.Holder like yourself i rate he will push on just like Fricke.

Peterborough Panthers 2019
Sidney the robin replied to Flappy's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
The 2019 line up have maybe three riders who can improve there averages.? Cook, BWD, Wright the rest i cant see improving. Also away from home i cant see loads of race winners coming, look the side is a decent side which the Peterborough fans deserve and i wish them luck for the season. -
I judge riders over a period that is how i make a judgement.
-
Does that really make a difference, he is still below Fricke at the moment.I can certainly see a case for Jack overtaking him but no way Kurtz he has to reinvent himself
-
But last year he really did step it up the only worry i have with Jack will be Poole being his home track. At Somerset you could race there and there are different lines to find where Poole lets be honest has been a poor track for a while now only time will tell.
-
Kurtz has ability we all know that but he has to really step it up to get above Fricke. You can actually say he might of even regressed in the last year or so Holder last year also stepped up to the plate.I believe Fricke/Holder are number 1s in this league now Kurtz showed last year he clearly is not.
-
I would put Fricke quite away ahead of Kurtz/ Masters, Holder is class as well but still behind Max.Fricke,Holder,Drabik,Lambert,Smektala can all bridge the gap and gate crash the series in time.
-
He is so Leigh Adams ( esc) style wise has a terrific teqnique and has a great temperament.I must admit i always thought he was a bit of a gater but these past two years he has been great to watch great from the back at the NSS.
-
Fricke will get there and he will be a GP regular in time, he was unlucky last year and we all forget just how young he still is.He has crammed so much in over a short amount of time he is a rider i love to see ride a class act.
-
Good luck for the new season .
-
You said it all really panther's no i admire this Panthers side really i do can they win it Maybe ????? we shall see did not want to cause offence happy new year.!!
-
This side with a terrific top four will take some beating at home, they also will pick points up on the road.Wolves and Swindon have assembled the best two sides at the moment with Belle Vue close up. Don't know what all the fuss is about the Dad's Army Peterborough side can't see that ageing team winning the title.

Play off contenders
Sidney the robin replied to Tigerforever's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Tom i saw him ride twice for the Robin's last year and he really impressed me technically he is very good rider. On the face of it before the Swindon v Poole meeting started i thought maybe Tom would be out of his depth. How wrong i was he beat Jacobsen/Woryna on merit and was pressured for four laps to do so.This Aussie tour he has done very well again but as you say don't expect to much but i expect him to do very well in the Championship.I hope if Eastie never move up Swindon could have first option on Tom he is a local lad and i would love it if Tom and Anders Rowe were to ride in the same Swindon team in the future. -
A terrific read i personally don't care what era they cover but the 80/90s idea is a great one.The read is that good that when you pick it up you don't want to put it down a compliment in itself.

Not all of us!!!! speedway is an ENTERTAINMENT and the sport has forgot that.Would i be happy if we won everyweek but every meeting was total dross no i wouldn't.When someone is paying 18 pound for essentially 15 minutes entertainment they want to enjoy there night and go away feeling good. There has to be winners/ losers of course but the entertainment aspect is certainly my first priority.
-
NBJ is a good rider maybe Matt feels he is better value?.Also in the past maybe he has took chances financially he now feels those chances are to dangerous in this climate.I actually applaud what he is doing because he hopefully will ensure that Poole speedway goes on for years to come. Not all fans are fickle we do not all expect to WIN we go mainly because we want to see good racing and be entertained the sport has got away from that for years now.
-
You come across as someone who feel's he is superior to most of us but everyone has a view.I still go regularly and still love the sport but it should listen to the paying customer more.Five points that should be addressed all basic (1.) A 7.30 start means 7.30. (2.) No interval (3.) If there is a restart the riders go straight back to the tapes. 4.The referee should be made to let the race continue even if the rider guesses right he only get's excluded if he touches them. 5. Half hour Autograph session before the meeting with riders mixing more with the supporter ( i.e. The paying customer without them there is no sport).

He has a point though and he is entitled to his opinion.

I am the same Steve ( Happy Christmas) i am not picking on you or Tai i was there in October Torun to see him win his title BRILLIANT.He has won the WC in a GP format a tough series a war of attrition but this is a different discipline. Also today is the level that great i am not sure???.also the series has grown on me but it is still a CLOSED shop something that has never really changed something i would like to see change in the future.Would Mauger, Fundin, Olsen,Nielsen,Briggs, as examples of liked to ride in today's climate i think so.I know the old one off Final was a different discipline but i still believe it was a more difficult, harder, Brutal, discipline to win under.Yes Tai is up there with the greats maybe surpassed a lot of them but he is not at a different level to the Brit's i mentioned also don't forget Farndon(no title,) Williams.
-
Halifax i do agree with you 99 per cent of the time Woffinden is NOT a certainty to be the greatest British rider of all time???! .Theyre would be a case for Craven, Lee,Collins,( ie. ) because of the format Tai rode in those riders never had the Series likeTai to ride in Tai is a GREAT rider but those other Brits were to.!!!!!
-
Happy Christmas to you Webby you take some stick for being negative but when thing's are right and good you are the first to applaud it.At Swindon we have gone a different route to your club we have announced the team early getting Doyley back was a great tonic so that helped.Your owner in a way represents how speedway in the U.K. is run still no real transparency a secret society and most of the communication between Chapman and the speedway public sparse. If you were opening a restaurant in March wouldn't you want to be publicising what you have to offer and dangle a few carrots???
-
Did the great Leigh Adam's get all of his testimonial money.???

I still think there is more to come from Brady sometimes with riders it takes certain thing's to click into place. The consistency is the thing with Brady at times i have seen him win races and look awesome then another race look off the pace.Jack stepped up last year and for me he will become an in/out number 1 the thing that worries me a tad is Poole as a home track.I believe for Jack to show his best the Poole track has to be consistently better that is no swipe at Poole because Swindon at times has been poor and has gone from being one of the best tracks in the Country to one of the worse.Holder is just in behind the level of Lambert,Smektala,Drabik,Fricke but he will get there in Poland he has showed his class at times.
