  1. God a great post Beowulf , never knew this but i have learned alot five wins out of seven races that won't happen again,
  2. Beowulf , Mick Steel scored a 15 point point maximum by heat seven he won four heats on the trott heats2,3,4,5, he also won heat 7. Crayford v Crewe 16/07/69.
  3. Mate legend Kilb scored 14 out of 15 losing to Mauger once, Siggy was at number 6 i remember it well it was very wet and I can remember Holloway scoring four third places from reserve.
  4. We have had King's Lynn twice in a space of a few weeks , and we have Wolves again in a fortnight i don't think this helps the crowd levels.
  5. I thought Siggy got a 15 max and never met Kilb? remember Joe Owen broke down en- route.
  6. I thought the racing Dog was frustrating at times close racing but some of the riders could not quite get in a blow and pass.Yes Becker looked impressive reminded me of Hancock/ Correy the best newcomer i ever saw at the Abbey was Toni Kasper.
  7. Again it was a reasonable meeting and that surprisingly has becoming a regular occurrence which is great.I thought it was a nice solid home performance with everyone chipping in with points.Chuffed with Tobi i was surprised how sharp he looked Batch/ Doyley/ Rasser were all terrific and were great value.Another plus for me is how good Ellis / Batch look as a pairing they seem to have a great understanding.Wolves i have to say were disappointing the two bright spots were Becker and Douglas both look like they can have a bright future in this league.
  8. I do remember that mate my favourite times were the Cross Keys and the Steam Railway and of course The Wheatsheaf when Wellie had it.
  9. Totally right Keith the extra revenue is a massive incentive but would it better to get two paydays (ie) reaching the final.?? My choice would be Poole over two legs not an easy tie but i am not convinced with Holder, Kurtz, Klindt, Grajczonek especially when it comes to the nitty gritty heats 13/15.
  10. Maybe you could get us back on track to the speedway Baldy !!!! as we are all boring the ass off of you.A question Baldy i know you won't take thing's for granted but who would you pick for Ippo in the Playoffs?? if we get there IF i know who i would pick.
  11. Never went in there much ER it had a terrible reputation but we played pool there a few times and the people were great. Can remember thinking Christ this place has huge potential the function room for events was huge.
  12. Nah maybe 70 years ago !!!!! god they were the days the Moonies, Cock Robin, The Worthy, The Princess have a pint say nothing keep your nose clean. You probably remember it better than me Shocker The Roaring Donkey ??? it sold a lovely pint of scrumpy you have probably forgotten as you were always busy chatting up the ladies.,,,,!!
  13. Dont mind it Doris i like Pinehurst to, how many Robins fans went on the buses from Penhill/ Pinehurst to support there team in yesteryear quite a few eh.!!
  14. What about Pinehill Doris!!! i went in the Deers Leap years ago for a league pool match and some guy got launched through the front window. It was bloody scary but i remember they did do a nice sausage sarnie.!!!
  15. I just hope Tobi is 80 per cent fit, thing's are looking up nothing against David but i could not see us winning anything with him in the side.Tobi at no 2 makes us look very strong in the 1/5 department fingers crossed anyway.
  16. Musielak down to replace Bellego on Thursday.
  17. A great performance from the Witches showing plenty of character after there recent blip.A great result for the Robins also, hopefully Belle Vue win at Peterborough as well.
  18. I hope we can beat your team Steve on Thursday and then we can all go home to Pinehill happily.!!!! I am looking forward to seeing Becker and i believe Luke/ Jacob are key to Wolves forcing a victory or even getting a point.
  19. A very good point indeed, i believe the old Swindon track ( long straights ) and King's Lynn ( shale) have been affected by the extra speed and unpredictability of the faster modern day machine. These two tracks were certainly up there in the top 8 tracks in yesteryear but both have regressed badly over the last few years which has badly affected there entertainment level.Swindon with it's changed track has vastly improved and we have seen some good racing there this season.King's Lynn maybe???? if it changed its shale that could help restore it back to it's former glories,it was certainly once one of my favourite tracks to visit.
  20. You can start this thread everyweek Racers, as long as it is not that weirdo Debb's.!!!!
  21. I actually believe the product generally can still be top notch, it can still be an enjoyable night out the rulebook is really one of my pet hates.
  22. It should be a close match both team's still have something to ride for and the Robin's have to win there next three home meeting's and pick the full quota of points up The reserves i think will decide the meeting, and i presume Musielak is still not quite ready i predict the Robins to win by ten points or more.
  23. It is so right what you are saying Sing's a number six away often if he fails in heat 2 that is it he often loses his fourth ride as well.Shanes should be number 6 at Birmingham it definitely is one of the biggest mistakes in the rulebook for the Championship.
