  1. After last years horrendous injuries no way is he 100 per cent fit.
  2. Do you honestly believe Tai would put anytime and money into British speedway after he retires. Why would he, we had a chance with the late GREAT John Berry to revamp British speedway and nothing become of it so why do you think now would be any different as exciting as an idea that it might be.
  3. Riders calling the tune though is not the way to go we know there are mega problems in British speedway that need solving. Is this problem really that important?? in the scheme of thing's i think not. Also is everyone convinced that Woffinden really cares??? or does he care when it suits him his record in the past suggests there is a doubt in that regard.
  4. 1977 62-15. heat 5 a 5-0 to Swindon Kroeze (ret) Godal (fell) .Heat 7 Cartwright beat Bouchard and heat 8 David Ashby was behind Kroeze/ Lohmann the rest all 5/1s.
  5. Is there anyone better than Chris?? i dont know Lawson is the only other rider i can think of mainly because of his gating.Bewley ok he maybe should not of been in the squad as he had a awkward fall at Peterborough and has just comeback from serious injury but Alun was only thinking of Dan's welfare.
  6. Yes Grachan Halifax scored 15 points only Kroeze/ Lohmann and Ian Cartwright were the only riders to split a Robin. If i remember rightly Chris Pusey scored 0 after one year scoring a 15 point max at the Abbey.
  7. I have never always agreed with Alun over the years but he has done alot more RIGHT over a long period than wrong. We have overchieved in recent years as a nation and with the riders available to him what more can he do.Alun's CV stands up for everyone to see and the criticism he has received is brutal and unfair in my view.We have seen it all before Middlo a man i respect greatly took loads of unwarranted stick in his reign so we should give Alun a break. He is passionate he does care and as far as i am concerned he can stay on at Swindon as long as he wants we wont get anyone better.
  8. No rider is bigger than the team and it wouldn't bother me if Woffinden never rode for England again.
  9. It has to change in 2020 Bruno at least 12 teams need to be in the Premiership.
  10. Bobby Charlton was a great man and footballer but that did not make him a great manager though who's to say Woffinden would not be the same.
  11. Did he get a wild card or not???? did he qualify on merit or not?? we all get it that he does not like Rossiter but wouldn't it be better if that was kept in house.
  12. Woffinden should have no say his path to most has been easy how did Woffinden get a wild card does he forget?????? He got GIFTED a Wild card and then he proved how BRILLiANT he was loved it he got a chance in the series he should not forget it,!!!!!
  13. I remember Broady riding for Ackney and i saw him ride for Crayford/ Stoke a true legend for me.Can you remember the double header in 1973 Doris Swindon v Reading and v Sheffield i remember Keener breaking his collar bone.
  14. God a great post Beowulf , never knew this but i have learned alot five wins out of seven races that won't happen again,
  15. Beowulf , Mick Steel scored a 15 point point maximum by heat seven he won four heats on the trott heats2,3,4,5, he also won heat 7. Crayford v Crewe 16/07/69.
  16. Mate legend Kilb scored 14 out of 15 losing to Mauger once, Siggy was at number 6 i remember it well it was very wet and I can remember Holloway scoring four third places from reserve.
  17. We have had King's Lynn twice in a space of a few weeks , and we have Wolves again in a fortnight i don't think this helps the crowd levels.
  18. I thought Siggy got a 15 max and never met Kilb? remember Joe Owen broke down en- route.
  19. I thought the racing Dog was frustrating at times close racing but some of the riders could not quite get in a blow and pass.Yes Becker looked impressive reminded me of Hancock/ Correy the best newcomer i ever saw at the Abbey was Toni Kasper.
  20. Again it was a reasonable meeting and that surprisingly has becoming a regular occurrence which is great.I thought it was a nice solid home performance with everyone chipping in with points.Chuffed with Tobi i was surprised how sharp he looked Batch/ Doyley/ Rasser were all terrific and were great value.Another plus for me is how good Ellis / Batch look as a pairing they seem to have a great understanding.Wolves i have to say were disappointing the two bright spots were Becker and Douglas both look like they can have a bright future in this league.
  21. I do remember that mate my favourite times were the Cross Keys and the Steam Railway and of course The Wheatsheaf when Wellie had it.
  22. Totally right Keith the extra revenue is a massive incentive but would it better to get two paydays (ie) reaching the final.?? My choice would be Poole over two legs not an easy tie but i am not convinced with Holder, Kurtz, Klindt, Grajczonek especially when it comes to the nitty gritty heats 13/15.
