  1. Does anyone know if BBC radio commentaries will cover tonight? i presume Wolves were on last night.
  2. Yes and it was a tough ask at the time , the eighties i can remember Tatum, Screen, Loram, Doncater to name a few going BL full time without experience.
  3. Yes Steve he is, Ellis is going well this year and is doing a great job for the Budgies. Dave was a really good rider i remember his Cradley/ Oxford days also his strong spearhead days with Mike Sampson at Nottingham.
  4. Evitts was a tough rider i was a fan of his a very talented rider he has been at Swindon recently helping Ellis Perks.)
  5. The boo's that were made were out out of respect more than anything else he was the benchmark that everyone had to try to expire to..He certainly put bums on seats and when he came into town the place was buzzing. The incident Ivan had with Bob Kilby at the Abbey was the only time he may have been in the wrong that i ever witnessed but he was a hard but fair rider.
  6. Mauger, Fundin, Nicki Pedersen, Preben Eriksen and Tim Hunt were two also that really crossed over the line at time's.
  7. Maybe you are right but he was originally announced to be taking an extra ride and in his race win he was mighty quick.
  8. The score does not tell the whole story of the meeting Swindon were awesome but there was some good racing..Both Panthers gated against Ellis /Doyley and were in control for a lap or so but both the Robins tanked on through. For the Panthers both Tungate and Garrity were great value they tried there utmost Charles Wright looked quick in one race and something is certainly happening with him as he only had four rides.
  9. Hope Worky get back soon jenga great track great club we need them back in british speedway. Also chuffed young Bickley is making progress your club had alot to do with that.
  10. Did he originally come over for a working holiday? a few meeting's and laps at certain tracks i have nothing against Josh i hope he has a decent career.
  11. It should be a comfortable home win tonight but it will not be a pushover, and the Budgies need to be on there a-game from the off.The one thing that is so frustrating is that the season so far has been terrific a real feel good feeling has returned to the club but after tonight we have a home gap in fixtures until the 19th which is really disappointing.
  12. As well he should what about Zaine and Broc.?
  13. Do you find it a baffling decision Steve ? when the season started i was shocked Todd Kurtz wasn't in the named seven as he was making slow progress and is very decent at home.I think most of us who have followed Drew's quick rise up the ladder just presumed he would of been at no 7 all year. My opinion only is that Drew at no 7 all year would of averaged between 5.30/5.70? a decent anough figure for a young lad.
  14. ie ) we dont no what money they are on and also have both got to to get permits.?.Forget the money issue then Kennedy/ MacDonald have had long stints at reserve and have been ok but the reason Drew has been in the top five so long is because those two have not been pulling up any trees. When Drew gets dropped to reserve he scores 7 points he then gets banished very unfairly in my opinion.
  15. But have Macdonald/ Kennedy who are not cheap really pulled up any trees??? why is it always a Englishman ousted rather than a more expensive import.?
  16. AJ was a real class act who had some very nasty injuries along the way, I always looked forward to seeing him race he was world class for such along period of time good luck to Andreas on whatever you do in the future.
  17. Totally right and Simon is someone i respect hugely enjoyed watching him ride for Swindon and Worky. As for Drew he will be fine he has had a tough season but he would of learned so much from it he will be around for years to come.
  18. When it gets to a stage when there are changes galore the credibility wavers also how can fans get a rapor with the riders when year on year there are changes. Also with the Drew situation this has come about because Sheffield never got the shape of there team right in the first place.
  19. You would of thought he would of had a massive say Byker?
  20. Really disappointed with the Drew Kemp decision Simon Stead who i have always liked and admired has gone down a tad in my estimation.Simon has been there started out as a young rider he really should of understood that Drew needed to be persevered with. This season Drew and young Anders Rowe at Somerset should of been at reserve all season no time at all in the top five. Both teams have built wrong teams and often young Brits are being punished for it is winning at any cost really worth it.
  21. They have improved you don't need wellie's now.!!!!
  22. Don't forget to try those legendary toilets.!!!!!
  23. Great picture that all those names were legends always felt sorry for Hitchy he missed out on the 1967 league title win.
