No you don't quite understand Speedway firstly it is about being entertained and hopefully the new customer coming back the next week.I am old but you are my age probably? ???? you are in cookoo land British speedway cannot afford to many W offinden/ etc riders end of.If we could great we cannot the days of the UK league being the best has long gone but it does not mean our leagues cannot provide entertainment.
-
The way forward is to run to a budget and keep the costs down apart from Doyle,Iversen,Lambert, Fricke, our top two league's are pretty even.Speedway is about putting on a show and i have seen national league meeting's that are just as exciting as the Premiership. It is a MYTH about the top stars bringing in the crowds it doesn't for me Speedway is about a good night out and all levels can give you that.

Big decisions in November.

Good crowds then great to see City!!! Eastbourne along with the Isle of Wight are really moving with the times excellent on the media side of thing's. Both are modern run tracks unlike me stuck in a time warp !!!!! i would love both clubs to move up in due course highly unlikely though. -
How has Hume performed this year False dawn?? no injuries which is great the odd fall here and there but overall what do you think.??

The thirty pound iniative deal for the Belle Vue trip was a great success and like you i certainly would not of gone without it.If every club could do that it could help club's get an extra 30/50 punters in that normally would not of gone. The speedway this year at the Abbey i have enjoyed very much and if they can get the league up to 12 teams next year could be even better.Every week i go and see that Lee Kilby is pushing for the youngsters to have a great time and hopefully some of these young uns will be the future supporters of the Robins. -
Ace if the Aces can get Palin, Flint, Bailey alongside there young asset Bickley to commit there longterm future to the club the future looks bright. No reason at all why all those lads would not ride for that great club and i hope all of them sign it would be great for there development.Last year at Swindon we had a huge disappointment of missing out but that is life take it on the chin and comeback stronger. This year the Aces fans can take the consolation of seeing young Fricke kick on and become a full time GP rider one hell of a achievement you have alot to look forward to.

Did the same happen to the great Shawn Moran TMC ???
-
Hans getting that call was his reward for taking thing's on the chin when thing's went against him in the years before that. That rule has annoyed me for decades Steve, me and you could see the Knudsen/Nielsen- Penhall/Carter incident differently but who is wrong ? neither of us.Why couldn't both of those races be all four back? nobody could ever be certain in both instances and as a result the public was robbed of a great spectacle.Going back to Nielsen saw most of his Cowley home meeting's from 1984/ 88 and had many a good night in there restaurant the guy was a machine awesome.
-
I think Steve 1986 might of been the year Hans broke Mauger's highest average of 11.74....? not quite sure but in later years did Ivan's 11.74 figure get reduced because of a tape exclusion.? Nielsen was an awesome rider he posted four 11 point averages on the trott from 1985/88 an alltime great but in 1986 was very fortunate to get away with the Knudsen incident.
-
Not the best of meeting's by the NSS standards but there was still some decent racing with Lidsey/Bewley exceptional.Heat seven where Bewley nearly split Musielak/ Jensen in one swoop was terrific and there was some real tight races where some riders could not quite land a blow.Heat 9 was the turning point when Lidsey/Bewley combined to get a 5.1 over Batchelor the Aces then went on to collect a well deserved win.The second leg is still a tough ask for the Aces but they have a little squeak great to see Bewley getting back slowly to form a really talented lad .Lidsey for me is a rider developing quickly and he will go on and will be nearing world class in the not to distant future.Came away last night thinking if we get Wolves i just hope we don't get mullered to badly in the first leg therefore making the second leg impossible to pull back the defecit we shall see.
-
Is that with the semi finals/ final to come ??? 5.32 is attractive yes certainly then be a great move i thought his average had gone to over 6 ish!!!.
-
Morris for me is not on a attractive average yes to have at reserve or maybe at no 2.But he got his higher average on the old track and has not totally convinced on the new one.Saying that i like Nick and it would be great to have him back Rosco has some difficult decisions to make but they are nice ones.
-
Gooch, Pander,How, Genz who all made a mark with the Cheetahs and leave a legacy.
-
A month ago Morra had a really attractive average and he would of solved a problem for us at reserve. But his upturn in form has made his average less attractive but i would still love him back and maybe he could eventually get a testimonial with us.For me Doyley/ Batchelor are shoe/ ins after that there is still plenty of points and scope to build an attractive team.

Race for the top 4

Batchelor was beaten in a rerun by the flying Douglas after hurtling at high speed into the fence. He has been very good this year enjoying his racing and the new track suits him for me with Doyley should be certainties for the 2020 season. -
Doyley,Batchelor,Perks would be my three on the teamsheet then build from there plenty of options. If a rule is brought in ??? maybe for a young Brit to be at reserve that might help as every club would have to do it.Rasser,Ellis, look for me to have the most vulnerable averages but personally i would love to see Rasmus back a great rider to watch as well as his point scoring ability.

That is where the common sense comes in you dont always have to make a tough call especially when you are not always 100 per cent. -

It is a rule that should be changed then, if it had maybe the 1982 Penhall/Carter incident would of never arisen there is not a black/white area everyone see's something differently.Just think back to that incident why not have a rerun with all four back ? nobody in the stadium really knew who was at fault that night. The sport was robbed again of a spectacle when common sense could of been applied. -

I actually believe the common sense call should of been made all four back what could Vissing have done.?Also this is an entertainment business we want to see all four riders in every race. -
For me Hyabb win or lose, this year it has been a really enjoyable one a breath of fresh air.I would just love to go back to the continuity of fixtures again and get back to having at least 15/20 home meeting's again.
-
Not a criticism of the club but it shows you all is not well with the fixture planning within the sport.!!!!
-
Mark was Steve, was that the year Surman rode at Oxford? and after did Paul Dugard ride remember Per Sorensen improving out of sight for the cheetahs mainly down to the professor.!!!!
