  1. He rode within himself because he did not trust the track.
  2. The track is one of the reason's why Holder's average is so low if he say went to Belle Vue he would easily put a point plus on his average.
  3. Regrettably you are right a real shame as i believe the NL has come along way.
  4. Totally right and being on a Sunday might of been a hindrance a renowned family day.If i can remember rightly Swindon did have a few meeting's around that time and not everyone has a budget to say stretch to three or four meetings in 20 days.I think the sprocket team could attract 500 regular's but on that day it did not show it i hope Lee Kilby has a rethink on that over the winter.
  5. Terrific with young riders he would give them lots of help he was great mates with the great Phil Crump.
  6. Jack Millen was painted as a villain but he had the respect of his fellow riders and he was regarded as one of the nicest guys you could of met.
  7. You are deluded Swindon up until the playoffs will barely break even, does a sponsor help to pay for Jason ??? The club have made great strides this year under Rosco/ and Lee Kilby and the crowds have been generally very good but there has been a few weeks when they have been lower than they have deserved to be .The NL fixture was a huge disappointment gate wise and people are picking and choosing there meeting's more nowadays but yes you are right the club are going in the right direction.
  8. Thanks and i am sure thing's will be alot better for your lot next season a strong King's Lynn that can compete away from home makes the league much stronger. One thing that you did not touch on and is regularly being highlighted by your fans, is it financial? is it just sheer stubbornness but why has the dark shail not been replaced.? King's Lynn is certainly one of the BEST racing tracks i have been to up there with Hyde RD, Sheffield,Halifax, now it is a shell of a track to what it used to be.
  9. What you said about the crowds really dropping off Mike is exactly right i believe in yesteryear getting a Mauger,Briggs,Olsen, turn up at your track really made a difference.Yet now in recent years even Woffinden at Wolves did not make that much difference on the gate and the extra fans money you did get soon got swallowed up by paying his wages. The sport has to go back to basics pay within your means and try and put a show on that everyone can enjoy.Bringing the big boys back in this climate is not the answer in my experience i can enjoy a NL meeting just as much as a Premiership meeting.
  10. Ah and you have always said that and i totally agree for me Ipswich would be slight favourite's over Poole.
  11. I got shot down the other month by Lord remainer Shovlar when i dared to suggest that Poole would be one of the weakest left in the playoffs.Of course they have my total respect and there record is all there to be seen over the last twenty years but myself personally would rather ride Poole than Wolves/Ipswich.
  12. I am with you Baldy for me all four teams have a shout so the semi will not be easy whoever it is.For what it is worth Poole are the side i would choose (ie) because we can beat them also hasarding a guess i recon we would get at least 3/400 more fans in for the semi if it is Poole that is the theory anyway.
  13. I actually believe we can beat Poole, Wolves are a difficult tie for everybody and yourselves with the boost of signing Puk comeback in with a squeak. Also our promotion and Poole's might think of the semi final revenue with the final cash as the next incentive. If Ippo can get Lawson going they are a threat i would fancy Ipswich to beat Poole over two.
  14. I think if????? Swindon finish top we would pick Poole.?
  15. He is a championship rider and his average and circumstances have gone against him this year. But to achieve the average he has with not quite having the race sharpness is some achievement he actually has a higher home average than Ellis.
  16. With no Jorgensen and maybe Palm Toft out this is as good a chance as any to get an away win. Also hopefully Lambert is not firing so who knows my heart tells me though that Swindon will only get a point tonight.
  17. Would that be Bickley as your young Brit? and would he be aloud to double up as i presume he won't be aloud to do NL.
  18. You did say about the money you have never ever believed in the Championship/ Natinal league product you are a prem league tart ,You twist thing,'s around you believe that the quality of rider rectifies thing's make more people turn up to meeting's maybe it does but i would rather every track pay within there means.
  19. Well that shows just how much you know, weren't you there were you skint??? potless probably. Yes the National league has to be run around the fixture list as most people have not got a endless pit of money to spend but it does not mean fans don't enjoy It .Woffinden turns up gets ihis 2/3 grand a meeting the crowd is hopefully??? 1,600/800 ??? do your sums it is not rocket science.!!!
  20. No you don't quite understand Speedway firstly it is about being entertained and hopefully the new customer coming back the next week.I am old but you are my age probably? ???? you are in cookoo land British speedway cannot afford to many W offinden/ etc riders end of.If we could great we cannot the days of the UK league being the best has long gone but it does not mean our leagues cannot provide entertainment.
  21. The way forward is to run to a budget and keep the costs down apart from Doyle,Iversen,Lambert, Fricke, our top two league's are pretty even.Speedway is about putting on a show and i have seen national league meeting's that are just as exciting as the Premiership. It is a MYTH about the top stars bringing in the crowds it doesn't for me Speedway is about a good night out and all levels can give you that.
  22. Good crowds then great to see City!!! Eastbourne along with the Isle of Wight are really moving with the times excellent on the media side of thing's. Both are modern run tracks unlike me stuck in a time warp !!!!! i would love both clubs to move up in due course highly unlikely though.
