  1. You are talking about a different league though aren't you? Morley ( who i like has not got a champs spot like Hume who is a better rider than Ben the sport is all about figures averages fitting.
  2. I often think Jack gets forgotten after Tommy Price and Freddie Williams.
  3. I actually think Ledwith is capable of scoring more points away than Ben.
  4. From my experience Aces51 this year racing in the Premiership was one of the better ones of recent years.Swindon my club have really got the club on a even keel the track is exciting not perfect but we are getting there. We have a management team that the supporters can relate two and you can approach them personally and they will listen.Your club is the benchmark ok your team has fell short a little but in Bewley, Kurtz, Wright, Lidsey you have got lots' s to look forward to in 2020?As for the NSS the track is one that everyone can be proud of for me in the top four tracks in the world. My wife actually got me three DVDs for Christmas of the Colts and the meeting's against Leicester were terrific and it is great the Colts are running again. My wish for the next couple of years is for the Premiership to get to ten clubs that enter that would be great and for the likes of Palin, Bickley, Bailey,Thompson twins, Gilkes, Rowe, Mulford to kick on in the longterm.
  5. Fair play you are not a Olsen lover Steve yet you still had the integrity to include him that is a skill to be impartial.
  6. Who were your three favourite rider's style wise Norbold ? be interesting to hear your views.Mine had to be Tommy Jansson and Ole Olsen, Leigh Adams.
  7. DC seems to be in a very positive mood these days coombdog, very hopeful that the Budgies can do well.I can't wait to be honest and everything crossed that young Anders can be on the pace i love local riders being a fixture in the Budgies team.
  8. Totally agree Norbold and you have a solid case also how many riders became World Champion over the years when they were not recognised as the best .? Farndon,Duggan,Warren,Adams,Jessup, Sigalos, Jansson are all riders that i believe were good anough to be world champion but fate intervened.
  9. Great post Norbold but do you think many people would put a non world champion in a all time top ten ever.?There is not a right or wrong in any answer but when doing my all time top ten an awful lot of great riders are missed out.In my top ten riders ever Fundin,Briggs, Mauger,Rickardsson, Nielsen,Crump, Olsen, are my only certainties the three other spots are really difficult for me. .
  10. Totally right they are all good Pete and good luck to all of them luck plays a huge part to but that Colts team will entertain everywhere.
  11. Yes Tom in considered in the same bracket as Tommy Jansson Norbold what IF we were all robbed imagine Jansson at his peak with a Lee, Nielsen, Gundersen, Penhall mouth watering.
  12. But i think longterm Palin and Bailey will be better than Flint.
  13. Hope everyone has a Happy Christmas and a prosperous new year and special greeting's to all the budgie fans.
  14. Great bunch my seven 1./ Mauger 2./ Fundin 3./ Nielsen 4./ Briggs 5./ Rickardsson 6./ Crump 7./Olsen
  15. God Ove an impossible task even for you, no in all seriousness you can't really i would be scared to offend someone if i left them out.An all time British top 5 that is a different matter mine would be ( I am ready to be crucified by some!!!!!) 1./ Craven, 2./ Lee 3./ Collins, 4./ Woffinden. 5:/ Williams. An all time top 5. 1./ Mauger, 2./ Fundin, 3./ Nielsen 4./ Briggs, 5./ Rickardsson ( that lot could change in an hours time.
  16. A strange decision by Scunthorpe regarding List again averages having a great bearing on the decision.List coming in on a four meaning he was in a top five a huge ask if he had been at reserve all year he would of been fine. Just look at young Bailey at Glasgow he was given time to find his feet and will be super rider in time.Strange by Scunny really as there record of given prolonged runs in the team to riders is renowned. Also in there defence they brought in Danny Ayres which was a great move he is a favourite of mine and is worth the entrance money just to see him ride.He is a real crowd pleaser and this years British Final he made that meeting along with Charlie Wright.
  17. Was his best days at Ackney or Oxford Steve ?? i did notice his head to record with Briggo was quite good 1969/72 but Crash Ashby seemed to get the better of him on a regular basis. We sometimes forget that as good as he still was Barry from 1970 he was not quite the force of old still a Total LEGEND in my eyes.Going back to Garry i can remember him wearing a flashy full face helmet a real character i still have his prized autograph.
  18. Phil Crump, Jason Crump, Vic Duggan, Jack Young, Billy Sanders, Leigh Adams,Darcy Ward, Jason Doyle, Graham Warren, John Boulger.
  19. Looked back Flagrag JOE beat Gilkes (3). Palin, Clegg, Ledwith, Rowe, Jenkins, Flint, Bickley in 2019. DAN beat Wilson (2). Clegg, Rowe, Jenkins, Palin (2) Stoneman, Bickley not bad for a debut season. Both lads also look real racers Joe loves the outside run and Dan really works the line well both exciting to watch in there own right. My wife got me the Belle Vue v Leicester two legs on DVD for a Christmas present a brilliant watch and both the twins clashes with Bickley,Flint, Bailey, Palin, were superb. If they could average near on three that would be terrific the real plus is they both ride the difficult Leicester track well so against there level and weaker second strings will hold there own at home.
  20. Yes went to Buxton in 2003/4 ? V the Sprockets Holloway rode and James was awesome young Charles then was just starting.out..The Championship is a tough league now and Newcastle for James won't be an easy home track to master he has done well on the grass track in recent years hope he does well.
  21. But overall Len must of balanced the books and knowing him he made a profit how long has he survived in a cutthroat business. On Anders Sing's how do think he will do??? i am a bit nervous it could be a bit early but it could go the other way the experience will bring him on.Really want him to be on the pace i have followed his career since he first rode on the mini Abbey track and he has made steady progress. The positive thing i look at is even the great Mark Loram averaged under 4 in his maiden season so I don't think Rosco will expect to much. The biggest thing i think that Anders has to do is be tough on the first bend stand his ground the first bend for me is the big difference between all of the division's.
  22. Two other riders who come to mind ER that Leigh really helped were David Ruud and James Wright. ( He is returning to the Championship level in 2020 I want him to do well.) .
  23. Did Ove like. bullying his way through on the line Ove!!! hard but fair.
