Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?
Sidney the robin replied to DC2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
This was just showing that Ledwith who has not rode at this level for over decades is at the level of the young riders.Wright is also in the same category he has not rode in this league for five years it will be interesting to see how both the elder riders fare. -

I am not worried about the team side of it but bringing that rule in would help us produce riders for our national team.It seems to work for Poland they put there riders first and they see the bigger picture. -

I think it should go back to what it once was a 6.00 point average then you would not be getting average imports taking places off of our lads. Will Macdonald,Zeleher,( if he gets a place) Cook,Thompson ( etc) be averaging six this year.Do you not agree that lads like Palin should have a two year cushion at reserve help them to develope and progress at there own pace. -
Michael Lee once said Eddie Argall took no prisoners and was very dirty towards him when he was a sixteen year old. This ended up with his Dad Andy having an altacation with Argall.Dirty and tough are different but Chris Julian,Colin Gooddy, Jack Millen,Steve Gresham, Alan Wilko Wilkinson, Tommy Roper were all forceful could mix it hard but fairly.

I did not see alot of Compton Pinny, apart from in the PLRC and for Belle Vue his battles with Sean the prawn were well worth watching.

Exactly my point he gets a second season and for me that should be in a top five.In the last couple of seasons we have seen Bowtell,Wood,Rowe,Kemp all forced into a top five no protection where the foreigner gets more of the crack of the whip. -
Tim Hunt was one of the dirtiest riders i have seen along with Preben Eriksen.

Cook coming over here should be in the top five List was last year at Scunny and how did that end for him.Our British riders should be protected just like the Poles do with there younger lads give them a chance to develope.Cook and Macdonald get chances at reserve for there respective clubs for me that is not right. -
Turn the record over the race is on you tube, Tungate who i like knew exactly what he was doing and it was after the race.

Jack Smith is not good anough end of , he has had endless chances and what did he average in the NL last year.? Not attacking you at all but you are so negative it is though you want Swindon to fail . -

The difference is Rowe will not be under any pressure at Swindon he is a longterm project and the club will support him. Also he is a lad who is ambitious being in the top five in the Championship is hard and it is bloody annoying Cook gets a free card at reserve that rule has to change. -

No not mixed up you often are though, you have no real time for youngsters you would rather a Wells/ Proctor type you just want to play the numbers game. The two leagues are two different disciplines something you dont quite understand Rowe is an asset and he could be a longterm fixture in our team planning. His job is to be on the pace learn and hopefully pick a few points up at home away will be difficult but my point is rubbing shoulders with Doyley and co has to help and that should show in his Championship scores.Last year Anders had no right to do as well in the top five as he did he overachieved for me the Robins side having a good top end enables Anders to get his chance a chance you would never have given him. -

He coped admirely last year in the top five but yes it will be tough but i am hoping riding alongside Doyley and co will bring him on. -
Can any Hackney fan definately confirm to me that on the front of the 1968 Hackney programme the rider in question is Torborn Harrysson.I am one hundred per cent certain it is him it would be nice to have it confirmed by others.

I agree he is an exciting rider Richard, in the Hume, Bowtell, mould raw but gives everything there should always be a place for those type of riders .Richard is young Brennan back to full fitness ?and what do expect from him? i have followed him closely he impressed me greatly when he he rode for the Robins in 2018. -

Will Rowe be in the top five? i think Stoneman ( who i like exciting) is one of the weaker reserves i cannot see him averaging three points away from home -
Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?

Point taken but the there is the other side of the arguement and young Kyle Bickley is the example. At Worky he was struggling really badly but the club were superb they could see the bigger picture and the young lad showed real character and guts to come through.Ok his development has not been overwhelming but there is a good rider in there and for me Palin is one of the best young stylists i have seen in a longtime.I would love to see him develope nicely and as another post says have a rule that keeps these sort of rider's at reserve for at least two years.I would love to see him race for the Aces ( and Connor Bailey) in the future full time when they are good anough the track suits them and both would be fine at the NSS.Also this year if you were ever going to bring a youngster in at reserve this would be the year with the likes of Bickley,Stoneman. Gilkes, Ledwith, Thomas, Thompson (2) Bailey,Flint ( etc). Also by all accounts Jordan has done a few laps around Scunny and he should also be able to practice there in the year at home i can see him holding his own. -

What a poor post riders at risk what are you talking about ??? It might be to soon for him he might not yet be good anough but as a rider he has a superb riding style and he is a down to earth level headed lad. Also in the Championship if he can score two or three points he has done his job it is whether he can learn and keep on improving. Why do SOME??? knock youngsters young Rowe at Swindon another one he will find it dreadfully hard at times but we need to encourage not knock. -
